Join Harry 'Happy' Newton our SUP Vlogger and Will for a very early morning paddling to compare the inflatable Starboard Touring Deluxe Double Chamber and the Starboard Touring Deluxe Single Chamber.
Apart from the colour difference, these Starboards may look very similar. But the big difference is that the blue Starboard (Deluxe Double Chamber) has an extra chamber which is inflated separately, making the board stiffer. The white Starboard (Deluxe Single Chamber) is like a traditional iSUP with only one main chamber to inflate.
This is just one of the many paddle sessions the team have been doing to find out the pros and cons to each Starboard Touring board. Look out for the full review/comparison video on SUPboarder soon, where we hope to really help you understand which construction and which board will be best for you.

I’ve been using the 12’6” Touring Double Chamber Deluxe with fusion tech for the last 18mths, it’s proven to be a cracking board. Nice and stable at 30”wide, superb build construction, can carry a decent amount of kit, and with the displacement nose certainly punches through chop significantly quicker than say the benchmark 10’6” Red Ride iSUP. Cons are reasonably obvious, because of the single touring fin and the lack of chine, surfing on it is all but pointless although a good laugh when attempting to, it certainly won’t plane, over 10miles it seems to have an average touring speed of up to 3mph no matter how hard you paddle, and is certainly not the board for downwinding enthusiasts. Overall though a great board highly recommended. 👍🏻

Top feedback and comment Dan, it's really good to hear what you felt the board has been like over a good year of use. Please keep the comments and feedback coming.

Looking forward to the review. I've had the 2020 Deluxe Single Chamber for 6 months and it's a great board and stable and stiff for an 80kg paddler👍

Thanks Mark! It’s on the south coast of Cornwall. Lots of beaches you can only get to on the water there!

The wind makes it a bit harder to listen for us with hearing limitations. Some subtitles would be very much appreciated I know its more work but hey if the boards have room for improvement so are you. Cheers.

Hi Matias, thanks for the feedback. I'll make sure to share this with the team and improve our videos into the future. Beau
