Always felt like Matthew has taken significant inspiration from Howard Moon myself ... I often wonder if he utilises "stationary village" to ensure easy access to paperclips and pencils 🤔
I love librarians. My favorite; the Terminator Librarian, who in my army is named Travis. His last epic feat was slaying a wraithlord then heroicly teleporting off of the battlefield.
I have finished watching every video on your channel and this is the first I get to watch within 1hr of it getting posted! Matthew, keep up the amazing work.
I really enjoy watching your videos! As someone who started hobby like 2 years ago i really appriciate you showing old pictures and rules! Thank you for making videos! Keep it up!
I still don't know how I did it to this day but I ended up with a bunch of metal ultramarine special characters :S this guy is one of them. Always thought it was nicely designed, his staff was always a go-to for scratch builds back in the day too as he only cost £3:50p through the 90s.
Excellent. Every army needs at least a handful of librarians, with them occasionally melting themselves and whatnot. Librarian in terminator armor is one of my few metal minis
I love this channel. Its joyous when a new video drops. I too collect and paint Firstborn. Not strictly 2nd edition (though that was the edition I started on) but I'm not fussed at all about Primaris. Love collecting and painting metal minis
Greetings and Salutations! Another jewel from days of yore. Really like following your painting process. I approve your method of painting yellow. Yellow pigments tend to be transparent so one should find a way to make that work for you. I have the Lexicanium 2 model and 4 of the old Space Hulk Terminator Librarians. Thanks and all the best, Billi.
3rd and 4th edition are my bread and butter but I have to say that I absolutely adore the 2nd edition psychic system. For my money GW hasn't managed to make a psychic system since that even comes close. I'd love to see a deep dive into the psychic phase in 2nd edition that'd be a banger.
Carlisle was my local aswell, always a highlight of a day trip south of the border. That and Tullie House obviously, who doesn't love a crossbow pointed at a ram skull.
@basstedson fair enough, though I thought it was meant to be historical. I guess it can be both. I'm trying to remember what the voice said when you shot the crossbow
Its cool that we share the same local store. I use to go to the Sunday academy and played in loads of the events they did back in the day. Wonder if you and I have met
1995 was the year i , well actually two of my friends got me interested, playing and collecting War hammer 40K. I still have my Chaos Undivided Apocalypse Army at almost 4k points. Its a mix of metal and plastic minis.
"..Anyway, in the last video, I painted the Captain with a power fist." You did an amazing job on that Captain. But wouldn't it have been easier to just use a brush?
Wow Carlisle was my local store, and still is. I can still remember my 13 year old self spending the night there playing 40k, as they put on a coach for gamesday 96 from the store, which left at 5:30 am. Sad that they no longer allow upstairs to be used as a gaming area. Still the current staff are just as fantastic as the staff back then.
@@Miniscape-wh40k yeah it was. Is funny how the layout of the store in nearly 30 years hasnt really changed. Though it was a sweet gaming room, with PS1 to boot!

I can't help thinking a rams head totem and all the skulls are a bit more chaplain esk or space wolvie maybe, a little conversion would go a long way here don't you think?
Oh wow. Ive had one of those bodies since rhe 90s in handmedown oldhammer but he never had arms and i never bothered to look at what they should be. Much cooler than i ever imagined oh never mind bow i look at hom he is a termie book nerd
I have finally decided on a theme for my Dark Angels Space Marine Army with all 3 wings I collected over the past year. Instead of Dark Angels, they'll be the Light Angels. All the negative traits of the Dark Angels will have been corrected and will be akin to Salamander's morals. My Lionel Johnson proxy model will maintain the OG scheme though cause he's too stubborn to change and try to rewrite history.
Filigree pattern? Nah, the technical term is surely "squiggly-wigglies"? I've been calling them that since 2nd Ed... 😂 Was that a Tom Waits reference at the end there?
Was the "sword through a book", as the Librarian has on his right shoulder, a symbol of librarians in general before it was the chapter symbol for the Grey Knights?
Not to impose on the master, I saw your IF banner from the last video and the outline of the first on the banner seems to stark between the black and the dark grey. I suggest a first full outline of 50/50 dark grey+ black or something like a greenish very dark blue, like stegadon scale green, in just saying cause I used to have the same problem.
Is it worth noting that this 'ere Bookyboy has the same staff as Skeletor? Can't help but feel if I were me be painty I'd be all purple on dat bonky-pole.
Really enjoyed watching this video on you painting up an Imperial Fists Librarian and telling us all what a Librarian can do. I’m curious about your other less important collections and will we be seeing your less important collections make a appearance on this channel?
Hi Matt I have in my collection the games day 1999 space marine captain never before painted. I feel this chap has been long over due a worthy paint job. A very pleasant little surprise. :)
I was just about to say something to that end.
"by what name are you known, brother librarian?" "there are some who call me...Tim"
"showing the codex at a humble nine pounds ninety-nine" me, an american: AYE, THAT'S A HEFTY CODEX
Yeah, that's 4.53kg in modern money.
Not many people know this but it’s called farting around in the warp because it was discovered by Arkhan Fart.
😂😂😂
Youkhan Fart?
Wekhanall Fart.
Oh yeah! I’d forgotten about all the different levels of Librarian! I’d forgotten the halcyon days of granularity!
I remember when there used to be armouries. And individual points costs...
I liked that you could be super-fiddly with points and that it mattered. Now it feels so basic. 😢
This is an early Christmas present for me. Thank you, Matthew.
Well Matthew, here we are again. A miniscape video, a porch, a cigar, and a glass of whisky, in freezing december.
Cheers! And merry christmas!
