@@omarcarnegie7614 I was looking at a Kia Soul to buy (2nd gen) like a 2019, they use either a 1.6L GDI or 2.0L GDI. I don't want either, I do want the 6 speed automatic transmission. On the 2020 Kia Soul you can get either a 1.6L turbo GDI engine or a 2.0L MPI (multi-port/multi-point injection) engine, I guess their GDI 2.0L was so crappy they threw out the GDI version and went back in time to MPI/MPFI injection. I like the 2020 but I'm not going to buy it with their new "IVT" CVT transmission. They're already having all sorts of problems. So the Kia Soul is out of consideration all together for me. Too bad, it's perfect for what I needed and very comfortable, I have a bad back but he Soul has plenty of room for 6 footers like me. I'm not going to buy a car with a CVT unless it's a Toyota, and #2 stay away from GDI (self-destruct) engines, unless the fuel injection is a hybrid style where they have direct injectors + MPI injectors as a backup system to keep the intake valves clean. That's the new style of GDI.
So I am confusion. Scotty said like a month ago that the Nissan Titan is a good truck and in his last best and worst trucks video he also called the new Titan good. So why is the starting to say the V8 version is crap?
True... I'm 49. I think by 2030, E type 🚘 will be common & gas powered ⛽ engines will be like 8 tracks or ☎️. The excuses & cheap business hacks wont cut it. Rivian, Tesla etc will make 💰.
I had the first year Titan (bought used about 1 year old, end of lease), and other then warped brake rotors, which were eventually replaced under warranty with a newer design, and a leaking front differential, which was also warranty replaced, that Titan was trouble free and my favorite truck I've ever had (and I've bought/driven LOTS of trucks) . I only sold it because of high gas prices and it's low fuel economy (about 14 mpg). Other than the fuel costs, I would love to have that truck back again.
@@Michael-ii9fs but it’s true about the value. I’m looking at a 2019 titan going for $25k and then a 2019 F150 V8 going for $30 and a 2019 Tundra going for $34k. The depreciation on those Titans is crazy
Tex Patriot yea the wife works For Honda motor co. Waiting for next employee lease sale that employees turn in to regional office she works at can get them pretty cheap and usually have under 20k miles. Shouldn’t have sold my 03 gmc didn’t think GM would get so crappy got 3 accords about to be 2. Ridgeline Up next I suppose for a Toyota would be blasphemy in this house
i have had 3 Titans, the first and 04" but sold in 08 only because my wife had too much trouble parking it in downtown Santa Barbara, we got a POS dodge avenger which we quickly got rid of. I got a 06 Titan and that one lasted until 2018 when a Semi t- boned me on the freeway. These troucks are tough, i basically walked away with a ton of bruises. I bought a used 2014 Titan, my favorite one yet. Got it with 33,000 miles on it for 25k and it has 193k now trouble free. The rotors were warped when I got it and i ordered slotted / vented rotors and slapped some factory pads and boy it stops on a dime. I too get around 14/15 combined city highway but on vacation we were on our way to Idaho from Southern California i zeroed out at home and the entire trip i averaged 20mpg. can't complain.
What year was yours? My dad had an 08 no issues and now has a 17. He’s had a few minor things with the 17 like the horn randomly lost it’s volume one time. I’m going to look at a 12 today.
@@kebotrans I had an 05 as well, lasted me till 2017 when it go totaled after I got hit at a stop light. Amazing truck, very few issues and easy to fix what did happen! (battery terminal corrosion, heater core.) Just bought a 2016 Platinum Reserve that I pick up in a week ish, Gonna love being back in a Titan :) !
I've had a Nissan Frontier for over 16 years, very good truck with very little issues. I beat the crap out of it, I live up a six mile dirt road. I just retired it with over 230,000 miles on it and decided to keep it as my hill Wrigg to haul firewood and stuff. I upgraded to a Titan, so far I'm really liking it, I just hope it's as tough as its little brother lol
Currently have an 18 Titan. Only thing I’ve done is routine maintenance and new tires. No issues so far and decent gas mileage. Let us not forget Scotty thought the parking sensor on/off button in a diesel Titan was a push button parking brake.
I got my nissan in 2010 as a first time buyer used with 30000 miles 10 years after 0 mechanical problems with 230000 miles on it use as my daily driver use it for work hauling still running like when i got it .
Not true. In the 'good old days' when 'they don't make 'em like that anymore' you'd be lucky to get 100K out of a vehicle, now they routinely go 200-250K.
townhall05446 This is a myth. They mostly lasted plenty long if maintained. And you could easily repair and get replacement parts, rebuilt engines, etc. And for little money they would run forever.
All my older vehicle were made to last. No computer chips ,really made well and you can work on them yourself. I've had a 61 ford Ranchero lasted over 300,000 miles nothing wrong sold it just to move. Had a 1966 Ford Mustang same thing. Had a 1988 Nissan S.E. truck manual is went over 300k before it blew the head gasket. Sold it to a friend who fixed it and still drives it . My 88 Jeep Cherokee was very reliable. I'm keeping my 2001 Toyota Tacoma trd has a 3.4 supercharger and it's hopefully the last vehicle for the next 15 years top was rebuilt everything while installing the TRD supercharger. They don't make the trucks like they did. I definitely think they know about transmission issues ect to make money after paying up to 50k for a new one or more. No way.
@@ismav3690 In Saudi Arabia where the climate is so harsh and dusty and where the temperatures can easily reach 125 F°. The most used trucks here are Silverados and Sierras. I rarely see fords on the road mostly Raptors. We also import Tundras from the US because toyota doesn't sell them here for some weird reason. As for small trucks the Toyota Hilux dominates the whole middle eastern market.
The best thing I've done was in 2012 when I bought a new Ford F-150 with the 5.0L Coyote engine. It gets good gas mileage and runs great, also pulls well. A good all around truck.
Before I watch this video, I’m predicting either a Ram or some other Chrysler made truck be on here. I’ll stay tuned! (Edit:) Well 5 minutes in I wasn’t wrong
The Nissan VK V8s are absolutely ancient by modern automaker standards (first produced in 2002), and apart from a few years (2017-19 or so) where they had knock issues they'll run forever if you do basic maintenance. Severely underrated engines.
As much as I love my Titan XD with the Cummins, Scotty is right. Fuel Pump started leaking diesel at 40,000 miles and rear dome light eventually stayed on at all times so I had to disconnect it to avoid draining the battery. Fortunately both covered by bumper to bumper warranty
As a mechanic for the last 14 years ,i agree with a lot of scotty opinions, but on the nissan titan , I'd take that over most gm, ford or ram trucks of the same.years , they're solid, known many people hit over 400k with original power train, they're not as good as the tundra , but to them on a list of trucks not to buy, crazy
if a car was terrible for the last 10 years I honestly doubt that the company is going to completely make a great, reliable, new one a year after repeated history. I think scotty has a great point here.
I like how the Nissan Frontier was named most dependable midsize truck of 2019 when that thing has been the same forever. Did every other truck all off a sudden get worse? And Jeep gladiator was named truck of the year for 2020. It isn’t even a full month into the year. How can they know what is the truck of the year?
I agree. He makes a great point too, why would you purchase a brand new vehicle when it hasn't proven itself with a reliable track record. Consider buying used, there are forums on every and anything that could (or will) go wrong with the vehicle.
I know man.. I got a dealership near me that has leftover 2019's crew cab with hemis for 21k... My inner Scotty said hell no! So I'm not gunna but it's hard lol
Toyota is recalling almost 700,000 vehicles in the U.S. because the fuel pumps can fail and cause engines to stall. That can increase the risk of a crash. The recall covers certain 2018 and 2019 Lexus LS 500, LC 500, RC 350, RC 300, GS 350, IS 300, ES 350, LX 570, GX 460, and RX 350 models. Also included are certain 2018 and 2019 Toyota 4Runner, Camry, Highlander, Land Cruiser, Sequoia, Sienna, Tacoma, and Tundra models. Some 2019 models also are affected including the Avalon and Corolla.
I still own a titan 2007 and a f150 raptor 2012. They both in good condition. Daily drive and offroad. So it doesn’t matter what type of truck you buy. You buy because you love it, its functional, it reliable and maintenance fits your budget. Thats it!!
Such great advice Scotty! I got a used 2017 f150 with the 5.0 coyote engine to pull my enclosed work trailer. All the salesmen were trying to push the eco boost on me… so glad I didn’t listen. The truck pulls about as good as my old 95 f250 7.3 powerstroke which is impressive to say, and is much more comfortable! That coyote is one of ford’s best modern engines based on my research.
That's why I'm sticking with the Ford Panther Platform cars (Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis, Marauder, Town Car) and Ford Trucks. Fewer problems and pretty easy to work on.

@@ethanfast971 this. the new 5.6 is junk. dealer here has crate engines stocked up because the bottom end is going in them. they had to update motor again in 2020
I'm not a brand loyal guy but I've never had any major issues with the two Rams I've had. The 5.7 hemi is bullet proof and the ZF 8 speed is very robust and proven in the rear drive plat forms. Interior quality is 3 steps ahead of the competition, I've owned two of them now.
I miss my 1989 Dodge Ram 150 LE. THAT was a good truck. NEVER left me stranded in the 3 years I owned it. 2001-2004. 165,000 miles. Bulletproof 318 V-8
2019 z71 v-6. 30,000 miles. All the utility companies in my area use the Colorado. If they are so bad why would they keep buying them. Scotty just seen a massive recall on your beloved Toyota’s. Fuel pump issues. Uh-oh.
Same for me too. I have a 2016 in the rare Laser Blue metallic paint. The biggest “issue” I have with my truck is that the clock resets itself every one in a while
Striker Fired I also have a 2016 Chevy Colorado 3.6 lfx with 0 issues and 65000 miles on it Super fun to drive and smoke any mid size truck that I’ve raced haha
Scotty. Appreciate your knowledge but I as well as three guys I know all have older Titans. Every person including myself have had zero issues with our Titans. Bullet proof motor is all I can say. Two guys ditched their Ram and Chev and picked up the used Titans and haven’t looked back. Great price as well. Best kept secret except the fuel economy
I have a 07 titan that i bought with 100k back in 2017 for work now it has 255k on it now... all i ever need was regular maintenance these things are tanks... my brother-in-law had a 04 that we used for demolition trash and picking up materials so it was constantly running it finally died with about 400k on it.... titans are extremely underrated
I have been listening to Scotty Kilmor videos since I was 18 years old when I wanted to learn about cars ! I'm currently 26 and I have been through 3 different vehicles already, I'm now looking for a reliable truck and I'm so happy to see Scotty channel blow up ! He deserves it ! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thanks. I will keep driving my Ford F250 5.4 with 5zf transmission. My truck at 420K runs like dream. All original and everything works. Cost me pennies to own. So cheap and capable. Thanks Scotty.
For what it's worth. I've been lurking the Ram 1500 forums for a while now. The 5.7 Hemi is riddled with Cam failures due to seizing up of the cam followers. That Pentastar, had the problems in the past that Scotty was talking about, but that seems to be a problem that has been resolved a number of years ago. Most people are getting very good reliability out of that pentastar these days.
from what ive read the cam failures are due to improper lubrication. the epa had ram calling for a light weight oil(factory recommendation) , run 10w30 minimum and i hear this will protect the engine and will last a long time.
Don’t get me wrong...I love Scotty! But, my 2006 Titan SE has 114,000 miles and it’s running great. No leaks anywhere. I tow a fully loaded RV trailer, 7,000lbs, and so far, hasn’t ever let me down. I’m about to change the stock shocks absorbers. The only problem that I’m starting to have is a clicking noise under the front dash. A faulty blend door actuator. Annoying, and looks like a nightmare to replace! (Of course I’ve replaced tires, brakes, and lots of oil changes) Scotty! Please reconsider the Titan!
I work in a courier company. There are guys with Titan who need 4x4 who goes on mountain routes in winter and then guys with NV 2500-3500 Cargo vans including me. One guy with 2018 Titan has 340000km as of today. He puts almost 500km a day. Never had any problem whatsoever. Guys with NV Cargo vans with 100k to 300k kms but no problem whatsoever. Yeah I admit my van speaker got blown which got changed under warranty. I am talking about 8 NV vans and 4 Titan Trucks. I don't know from where Scotty comes up with this info. I admit Nissan had some issues with its CVT in certain vehicles since then they were fixed. Honda has issues with its CVT same Toyota too. Airbags, Fuel pumps you name it. I am glad I didn't needed Scotty's advise for family planning.
Even the CAM brand from China has Cummins engine in their truck. Unfortunately a car has a body, suspension, electronics, gearbox all which still go bad still. Imagine having a car fall off, while only the engine still survives.
@@Garth2011 still, common its a truck! It should have a V8! Specially a full size. I think a truck should be used more for its capabilities of hauling or towing not gas mileage. Well, I understand some people do care more for gas mileage but Common! You're buying a truck not a car! To me; just it doesn't makes any sense!!!!
@_ZAVALA, Unfortunately because of CAFE standards for mpg efficiency, many automakers including my own employer (Ford) has had to place smaller engines into all vehicles as to comply with government regulations. No one knew that Trump would become President and freeze those regulations. The automakers make these decisions a few years in advance to try and get and meet a lower fleet mpg standard average. The mpg standards are the average of all the vehicles an automaker sells. Personally, the V8 Coyote 5.0 litre engine that is solely made at Essex Engine Plant in Windsor Ontario Canada is the best and should be the ONLY engine to enter the engine bay of a F-150 pickup truck.......and a Mustang too. Sadly, to meet the government requirements means that Ford doesn't advertise much when it comes to the V8 Coyote engine. They push the ecoboost 4 cylinder and 6 cylinder engines. Ugh. I hope this clears up some things. Have a great day.
@@robertfortier2136 Thanks to you guys giving details of vehicles no manufacture would dare to; it helps us out here in a quandary about modern trucks and the why's and wherefores as to how they are not for me. Actually no real quandary for me. I love classic American vehicles, and have two from the 60's; and have owned '68 and '71 Ford trucks, and three "recent" Rangers, last an '04 4x4 5sp, "big" 4.0 v6". Will keep running it as long as I "keep on running"! LOL :D
The Titans always are the underdog but ironically the people that i know that own then not just the new ones but the 1st gen ones they all love them. I know some folks have over 200k miles on them and still going strong just routine maintenance and the usual stuff you change like shocks and such. I like the 1st gens Titans better myself just prefer how it looks 😎
Even if the titan is soooo bad, they provide a 5yr/100k mile bumper to bumper warranty as standard. This is best in the market and seems fairly low risk with a warranty so damn good. not to mention, if these were plagued with so many issues, a warranty like this would put them out business. Not everything can be a 94 celica.
@@leechburglights Nissan is stupid for getting rid of it. Bought a new 23 p4x non xd a few months ago and its the best truck I've owned. I don't see ever getting rid of it. It has the most comfortable seats of any vehicle I've sat in, is quiet, smooth ride, good mpg, good power, and has a naturally aspirated v8 and no stupid dial to select which gear you want. It's probably one of the last real trucks being sold.
I bought a new 4*4 Titan in 2014 for 30k CAD. The equivalent Toyota was 48k. Nothing but oil changes, harsh Canadian prarie winters, epic potholes that would swallow a mini cooper, and it's been just fine. That said, I do like the Tundra more.
I purchased the 2016 75th edition grand Cherokee (with the V8 hemi ofcourse) and the attention to detail and performance in this thing is unbelievable. Great quality vehicle for a fair price.
The Titan's new gas engine is based on the old 5.6 which is a very solid engine. They put a new head on it which puts up big horsepower numbers but I guess they arent as good as the 1st gen. My 1st gen has 120k miles with only minor problems. I think it's been a better truck than my old Silverado was. We will see how long it lasts I drive it really hard and tow a heavy skid steer and a dump trailer. And it was about $12,000 less than the Fords I was looking at so I'm pretty happy.
Actually they’re better early models had timing chain issues and the catalytic converters would end up ruining the motor on most of them. They fixed it in the gen 2 but both are still solid
I have a 2018 Nissan Titan XD. This truck is awesome. 0 problems. The sticker price was $60,000 but got them down to $45,000. It tows better than my Ford diesel. And as many have stated the warranty is what helps sell the truck. With the money I saved, I was able to lift it 6” with methods and Nitto tires. No regearing was necessary due to the engine size and horsepower.
I bought a 2019 Honda Ridgeline, since I don’t do a lot of towing and it’s great. I think it would be nice to tackle the reason people buy trucks. The assumption is that you will do a lot of towing and hauling but more often than not I see a lot of half ton pickups with a crew cab and a topper on them hauling kids to school.
@@harorider96 True to an extent. I only have the previous and current vehicles that I own and driven to compare to. There is usually some romance in the air in the first year. Most people want crew cabs for more space for people etc. Most people who buy trucks want an open functional space to store things. Most people who buy trucks may want to tow things. The severity of what you think you are going to need is why people buy F-250s in my opinion. Our crew trucks are Chevy 2500HDs and I would not see the reason to drive that daily for what I do. I am speaking to the utility to the Ridgeline to accommodate to my and most people's needs. I could be eating my words in a year, but I doubt it.
I have a titan use it everyday pull 20' goose neck utility trailer no problems in three years with it. And it is a v8 gas. It replaced a GMC sierra and that replaced a Ford.
I must have because as soon as he brought up titan I stopped the video. And went to the comments. However the new 19 and up are still using the same basic 5.6 I have in mine.
he said leaks and electrical problems with the v8 gas trucks. Which is what I have. My son also has a 5.6 v8 and no issues. He does not use his as a work truck like I do but he is hard on it using it as a offroad mud truck. I have not heard of any of these issues on the forums but I have not really been searching for these issues either.
As hurtful as I may come off as despite when it comes to my family's so called know how on vehicles, I value Scotty's vehicle based wisdoms more than those who offer it; I have to take what they say with a grain of salt. What do they know? Why don't they know, that's the better answer!
I noticed the nissan trucks have better interior, much more sturdier and durable for actual work. that being said the frontier happens to be the 2nd most reliable midsized truck right behind the tacoma due to its 12 year old design lol
Nissan trucks are fantastic, the numbers dont lie. Very good reliability and good bang for your buck quality. Id love to have a Titan one day, I just like my Frontier too much right now.
I always look at the consumer reports. They are usually spot on. Best truck I ever had was my first vehicle back in 97. Was a 87 dodge Dakota. Thing was a beast! Dogged the crap out of it and still run like a dream lol
Toyota forced to recall 700k vehicles for faulty fuel pumps. I talked my neighbor into trading in his S550 for an LS 500 because of the reliability issues he was having. Needless to say his LS broke down on the freeway with only 2,500 miles on it. Cause was a bad fuel pump. I did the right thing as a die-hard Toyota fan and told him he most likely got bad gas
@@Big.W. sad when you have to set the bar that low right? How's your IS350 holding up? Was it included in the 2.4 million goopy dashboard/ door panel recall? How about oil consumption or leaks?
Yes it's true... I have purchased two different generations of the Chevy Suburban new... problems with both of them, new from the factory and the dealer refused to fix some of the problems telling me the Bumper to Bumper factory Worranty does not cover it!!! The "knock outs"... front end vibration at 70 miles per hour NEW VEHICLE and I was supposed to pay to fix it! Never again!
I bought a 2011 Titan used for $17 K it has all the bells and whistles, 4X4 Pro Club Cab, leather, hs 215,000 miles now still run's like new and I love it, sounds like a truck going down the road.
@@lawrencewheeler8868 In the reflection of a mirror in the dark? 😅 I hear if you say, "94 Celica" into a mirror 3 times, Scotty will appear with a cat pillow in the reflection.
Toyota is recalling select 2018-2019 Lexus and Toyota models due to a fuel pump which may stop operating. Approximately 696,000 vehicles are involved in this recall. --------- Not my 94 Celica. It has 335,000 miles on it and runs like a clock!
Stas Glory you could say that for other recalls as well from other manufacturers. It’s usually a small number that’s affected. Under the recall they all get fixed anyway though.
Actually alot of Toyota and lexus 2018-19. When I looked at the list, it’s almost all models. If it pertains to anyone, Toyota or Lexus will send out mail.
I don’t expect any vehicle to be completely trouble free, but I’ll take a recall over an out of warranty repair any day. I own my first (and last) Silverado. Too bad. I really wish they were better built.
I bought a Nissan Titan 2019 15000 miles. I’m not stupid just uninformed. Usually I take your advice on what to buy and what to avoid but I must have missed this warning. Lord help me.
Scotty, are you going to report on the 700,000 Toyotas being recalled because of faulty fuel pumps? Be sure to crap on them like you do Subaru whenever they have a recall.
I thought the Frontier had good reliability ratings. It's been the same design for years and doesn't have tons of new tech in it. Good power from the engine, good towing for it's size, good price. I don't think the Titan should be on this list either. It has a 5 year 100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty on it. Not sure of any other company that gives that on their trucks when they sell them.
Scotty's a rare bird. He's educated millions. Mysteries of the world are revealed by scientists. Scotty has unlocked the secrets of the car industry to the masses. His knowledge isn't unique, he is.
While the frontier wasn’t on the list he talked about it in a negative way yet he had it on his top five trucks to buy and said it was the best thing Nissan makes
Well I guess I’m stupid then🤷🏾♂️. I had a 2012 Titan and now a 2019. Never had no troubles with em. They’ve been awesome trucks to me but hey what do I know right smh
@Tony Melo titans are good but plástic radiators and plastic fuel systems have them coming in better then chevys but worse then Toyotas since both the tundra and the tacoma come standard with metal radiators
ivorton23 it was in a different video when a viewer asked him which is better a dodge truck or a Nissan Titan. He said he’d take a Titan over any dodge truck any day of the week.
I'm on my fourth Nissan Titan. I never had any of the quality problems you discuss. My 2017 Titan XD with the 5.0 Cummins is going strong. You should drive one. It might change your mind.
08 armada with 218k. Runs perfect. Transmission is butter smooth like the day I bought it, very torquey motor. Smokes a lot of newer v8s too! I’ve towed 2 different fifth wheel toy hauler/camper trailers up to Lake Tahoe many times. Bought it used at 37k. I have literally only changed the oil in it, 5-7k intervals, but no other maintenance besides a new radiator cap. It’s definitely the best suv I’ve owned hands down. When people say they are bullet proof, it because they are.
I have 2019 Ram 1500 with a 5.7 HEMI and I absolutely love it. Have it for 8 months and not one issue. Granted I'm not using it as a work truck so it's not being a abused. I take care of it like I've done with my other vehicles. Sorry Scotty but I have to disagree with him on my Ram 1500.
@@filetmignon7534 sorry, can't agree with you on that. This is my 4th FCA vehicle with the same 5.7 HEMI engine. The first three were awesome, no problems at all.
Why did you buy a truck if you don't tow, plow, haul or do other work? What's the purpose of the investment? I never understood people who buy trucks but use them as cars
240 thousand on my 98 Dakota, it would take a half of page to list the parts that are still original on the truck. He's nuts on the price comparison between a 4wd Nissan Frontier and a 4wd Toyota Tacoma. There is at least 8 thousand higher difference for the same equipment.
Don't idle it a lot and don't just drive it around town at low speeds, that is when the Hemi's camshaft oiling design issue will ruin the camshaft and/or cam followers. Known major defect.
Scotty. I'm an American living in the Philippines, we have the Ford Raptors and Ford ranger here, and many ford owners are complaining because they breakdown a lot like broken transmission and engine stalling.

hi Scotty I drive a 2015 kia optima lx is the GDI engine is hany good
Toyots is recalling 700,000 due to fuel pump stalling while driving.
Hey Scotty - Where is the video about the 700k vehicle Toyota recall? Failing fuel pumps which may cause the vehicle to stall on the highway!
Titan XD diesel I mean
Best Truck to buy in 2019.... 94 toyota celica... 👍
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
So I am confusion. Scotty said like a month ago that the Nissan Titan is a good truck and in his last best and worst trucks video he also called the new Titan good.
So why is the starting to say the V8 version is crap?
That's why I bought one.
@vachief Scotty said with manual transmission they still are OK
Celica is not a truck but ok
I have a titan and it's been trouble-free for 6 years.
It's actually a very underrated truck. 5-year bumper to bumper 100,000 warranty.

@@JA-bt9hf I agree. The problem is that the Titan is not as popular as the other trucks. People tend to associate popularity with reliability.

What about the Tundra?
I have a Titan with 200,000 miles on it. Never been in the shop so I bought another one and it now has 70,000 on it. No problems!
According to Scotty, if it ain’t Toyota it ain’t no good.
Did it have a Cummins engine? Sounds like it didn’t.

i have had 3 Titans, the first and 04" but sold in 08 only because my wife had too much trouble parking it in downtown Santa Barbara, we got a POS dodge avenger which we quickly got rid of.

Most modern vehicles are engineered to make money. Cheap to produce, expensive to buy, and designed to fail.

Nissan v8 is well known for its reliability. Here in middle east its the most used car ij desert and for family bcoz it do so well in harsh conditions
I agree am not sure what Scotty considers reliable
The Nissan VK V8s are absolutely ancient by modern automaker standards (first produced in 2002), and apart from a few years (2017-19 or so) where they had knock issues they'll run forever if you do basic maintenance. Severely underrated engines.
Very unreliable
As much as I love my Titan XD with the Cummins, Scotty is right. Fuel Pump started leaking diesel at 40,000 miles and rear dome light eventually stayed on at all times so I had to disconnect it to avoid draining the battery. Fortunately both covered by bumper to bumper warranty
Actually the older Chevy Silverado like have been shown to be more reliable than the new ones out today.

I’ve always loved “reliability ratings” on brand new vehicles.........
Well if they use the same garbage engines and parts as previous models you know they'll have poor reliability.
if a car was terrible for the last 10 years I honestly doubt that the company is going to completely make a great, reliable, new one a year after repeated history. I think scotty has a great point here.
Raffaele Mancini Yet nobody says...”This one’s going to suck.......”
Manufacturers are confident that their new vehicles will last for one year, so they are not really, officially new anymore.

Toyota is recalling almost 700,000 vehicles in the U.S. because the fuel pumps can fail and cause engines to stall. That can increase the risk of a crash. The recall covers certain 2018 and 2019 Lexus LS 500, LC 500, RC 350, RC 300, GS 350, IS 300, ES 350, LX 570, GX 460, and RX 350 models.
Thats it!!

Nissan has discontinued putting the Cummins 5.0L V8 engine in the Titan
That Cummins was the only redeeming quality
Even the CAM brand from China has Cummins engine in their truck. Unfortunately a car has a body, suspension, electronics, gearbox all which still go bad still. Imagine having a car fall off, while only the engine still survives.
Already?
Of course NOT too many ppl buy them bcuz of how expensive they are!
That’s correct, the warranty claims on that engine was killing them. Also the Cummins V-8 is a fuel hog... even by diesel standards.
Who in their right state of mind would put a 4 cylinder engine in a full size pickup? Oh yeah! Chevrolet did!!
Agreed, especially a 2.7 liter ! I could see a 6 liter straight six though.
@@Garth2011 still, common its a truck! It should have a V8! Specially a full size. I think a truck should be used more for its capabilities of hauling or towing not gas mileage. yep. it's all about the application

No regearing was necessary due to the engine size and horsepower.
Any cylinder 7 issues?
I bought a 2019 Honda Ridgeline, since I don’t do a lot of towing and it’s great. I think it would be nice to tackle the reason people buy trucks. The assumption is that you will do a lot of towing and hauling but more often than not I see a lot of half ton pickups with a crew cab and a topper on them hauling kids to school.
That’s the same in my area, except it’s Colorado’s. Make me proud to be one
I like my tundra so
@@harorider96 True to an extent.
I read on the internet that those are the most American made trucks
You don’t know what else they are doing with their trucks why assume?
Me: I am a Titan fan
Scotty: you’re stupid
Me: I live in Tennessee
Scotty: that’s why
Go CHIEFS!!!!
Sorry that didn't work out for you yesterday...🏈
I bought a new Honda Ridgeline to replace my Ram and have zero regrets. It does what I need it to do and the ride is awesome.

The problems listed for Titan are the ones all American trucks have.
I own Nissan Cummins truck and I woul disagree with “bad Nissan quality “ message, this truck got built well and I’m a mechanic also
I noticed the nissan trucks have better interior, much more sturdier and durable for actual work. that being said the frontier happens to be the 2nd most reliable midsized truck right behind the tacoma due to its 12 year old design lol
I have 2017 Nissan Titan and zero problems
Nissan trucks are fantastic, the numbers dont lie. Very good reliability and good bang for your buck quality. Id love to have a Titan one day, I just like my Frontier too much right now.
Just because one or two trucks run well with no problems doesn’t mean they all good lmao.
@@connermcgarrah2171 The reliability figures dont lie man.
Happened with my friend LS400. It's definitely not a bad fuel problem but the car itself.
jmasoncar s hahahahaha
jmasoncar s Better than any Infiniti, though. 🤣 🤣
@@Big.W. sad when you have to set the bar that low right? How's your IS350 holding up? Was it included in the 2.4 million goopy dashboard/ door panel recall? How about oil consumption or leaks?
jmasoncar s Lexus is the most reliable luxury brand in the world, even with this fuel pump recall. I’d say that’s quite the accomplishment.
I shopped Tacoma, bought Frontier because there was no comfortable driving position in the Taco test drive.
Frontier same truck since 2005, tried, tested and proven.
exactly, its built for short people and women
50k and no power seats.....
I like Toyota but every time I see 'TRD' on the side I think 'turd'.

Toyota is recalling select 2018-2019 Lexus and Toyota models due to a fuel pump which may stop operating. Approximately 696,000 vehicles are involved in this recall. --------- Not my 94 Celica. It has 335,000 miles on it and runs like a clock!
In that same period of time they sold about 20 million vehicles. So let’s keep that in context.
ahahaha
Stas Glory you could say that for other recalls as well from other manufacturers. It’s usually a small number that’s affected. Under the recall they all get fixed anyway though.
The 2018-2019 Toyota tundra and tacomas, are getting recalls on their fuel pumps
wheww...good thing that celica and matrix not included...
GM should have had such a recall over 20 years ago!
Toyota probably had a bad batch of fuel pumps. It’s good they’re recalling!
that moment your truck you just bought is first on his list lmao
I bought a Nissan Titan 2019 15000 miles. I’m not stupid just uninformed. Usually I take your advice on what to buy and what to avoid but I must have missed this warning. Lord help me.

Scotty, are you going to report on the 700,000 Toyotas being recalled because of faulty fuel pumps? Be sure to crap on them like you do Subaru whenever they have a recall.
700,000 vehicles is nothing for Toyota. They sell like 10 million vehicles every year.
Damn you salty
Parker Rollins he must be a Toyota fanboy
I thought the Frontier had good reliability ratings. It's been the same design for years and doesn't have tons of new tech in it. Good power from the engine, good towing for it's size, good price. I don't think the Titan should be on this list either. It has a 5 year 100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty on it. Not sure of any other company that gives that on their trucks when they sell them.
Scotty's a rare bird. He's educated millions. Mysteries of the world are revealed by scientists. Scotty has unlocked the secrets of the car industry to the masses. His knowledge isn't unique, he is.
SCOTTY!!!!!! PUTTING IN THE WORK AS ALWAYS!!
While the frontier wasn’t on the list he talked about it in a negative way yet he had it on his top five trucks to buy and said it was the best thing Nissan makes
Now I want a Brand New Tacoma. Thanks Scotty! 😂👍🏻
Love my Titan!
I currently drive a 19 titan sv midnight edition. Been amazing so far from 14,000 miles and currently at 24,000 miles, nothing to report at all.
How's it running now?
Well I guess I’m stupid then🤷🏾♂️. I had a 2012 Titan and now a 2019. Never had no troubles with em. They’ve been awesome trucks to me but hey what do I know right smh
ivorton23 He said he’d rather have a Titan than any Chevy or Dodge. So that’s pretty good already.
@Tony Melo titans are good but plástic radiators and plastic fuel systems have them coming in better then chevys but worse then Toyotas since both the tundra and the tacoma come standard with metal radiators
Stas Glory when did he say that? I must’ve missed it

Give it a couple more months, that thing is gonna have several problems especially with that shitty HEMI engine
@@filetmignon7534 sorry, can't agree with you on that. This is my 4th FCA vehicle with the same 5.7 HEMI engine. The first three were awesome, no problems at all.
