Sociology would be best even mine too.so what I suggest you to is first see the previous year question papers & syllabus of both the subjects,you will let you know your self.compare to pubad sociology subject more over lap with the syllabus of upsc.so ,I would suggest you to choose SOCIOLOGY but decision is yours

@@ddy9203 Yes every individual has their own decisions.Some may think Sociology is best subject to understand the society which we have to work with them after getting the services.UPSC demands only basics in every layer of the subject but not specialisation.But it comes to optional UPSC demands answers with depth analysis
@@shaikmastanshareef4711 that's just a myth u can't expect only knowledge of only basics from an IAS officer.Society can be understood even by observation.
UPSC is like medicine course, it's only rich people's profession, without coaching it's not possible to clear UPSC, only few , who are poor have been able to crack it, coaching fees nowadays is more than a lakh. Atleast NEET exam is clear on what to study and from where the questions is gonna be asked, but upsc does not provide anything, only mentions 1 or 2 line in notification for syllabus. There's a lot of content available online but students gets confused what to study and what not.
