What are your thoughts to the changes coming up to the Mythic Shops, with the more mythic skins but no adjustments being made to Mythic Prisms? OW still not letting you make up all 1000 coins?
i dont rly look forward to the season itself, news after news i lose hope of something postivie actually happening, like, ill say it, the ashe mythic is the third worst mythic in the game, the only saving grace of it is the weapon and effects, and the fact you just listed what they are planning to do to the mythic shop and do nothing about the battle pass, on top of the fact they put the worst skins of this season into the battlepass and let the best ones into the shop is even worse... i just dont rly wanna play this game cuz when its like 20 dollars for you, its 80 for me, i cant spend 80 bucks everytime a cool skin comes out

@@giuseppevaccaro7521 Going as far as to even defend the idea of monetizing it regardless makes you look like silly, it does not matter whether its a weapon "inspect" or they want to spin the narrative and say its an "Idle animation" these things shouldn't be monetized to begin with. No other game has ever gone this way to find new ways to steal money from your pockets without ever investing that money back into the game properly ever.

Sadly I don’t think they will improve the shop, battlepass or prisms anytime soon because it’s working, like this season day one almost every game I had with a mercy had the mythic skin even before that every game a minimum of 3 people own a shop or battlepass skin. First time I really noticed it was with the Lilith Moira bundle controversy that bundle was way overpriced and people complained about it yet almost every Moira I saw that season had it. They need to fix the monetization but it’s kinda tough to change if they are making bank the way it is. I almost grantee day one the first game i play of season 11 my tank will have the mythic hammer and my dps will have the Ashe mythic
The debate is about skins cosmetics which don’t really affect gameplay if anything you can still play without having them, what’s actually concerning is the lack of quality in the future which is already starting to appear once here and there every season and if it stays that way its only going to be more and more frequent to have like 80% recolors recycled bs also the scummy thing is promising alot and delivering basically none but then the budget has been drastically cut by promising not delivering to older ow1 players and welcome ow2 players that are unaware of the original promise but happy with a free game now they do need to make money ik but that’s just the worse moral way to do it without even showing gratitude to their original players from ow1 crazy how games come to be now a days instead of being a method to have fun it has become a scam deceiving money grab somehow ppl get convinced like if ow2 shutsdown all gone imagine that hope never the case but looks it might soon
Remember before overwatch 2 launched and blizzard asked in a survey that if we were willing to pay $45 for mythic skins.

Technically it's not exactly a weapon inspect it seems. Even if it was, u cn only inspect ur mythic weapon only. Meaning other weapons frm other rein skins won't have any inspects. It's exclusive to the mythic weapon. So it's not the traditional weapon inspect.
They also said it works by spinning ur hammer, so it's not bound to a button on ur keyboard or something.
You will never get a Weapon Inspect because their diverse cast of characters multiplys the work needed to do it.
If everyone is running around with a M4 rifle like CS:GO its easy.
Diversity is working against them here, you gonna need unique animations for all characters and future characters.
It's not impossible I've seen Gacha games do bespoke Animations for every character, its just expensive.

The main thing that annoys me is that they scrapped PvE and have egregious monetization, but haven't made too many big things for the PvP.
If they actually made meaningful content, I'd be more inclined to spend money and support the game.
I'm glad I resolved not to get any mythics for characters i dont play.. Sitting on 80 rn and I'll probably still be sitting on 80 after next season. I'll pick up the sigma skin i missed in the meantime

Hot take: the lay offs had to do with removing a huge issue of incompetency within the company. The people removed were most likely doing fuck all (and before you say anything, the sexual harassment situation shows what the culture is like there)
Don't get me wrong, the Rein Mythic weapon skin looks cool, but as soon as they released WEAPON skins entirely, I thought it was stupid. Because weapon skins already change... WITH ACTUAL SKINS. Yes, the mythic will have cool visual effects, but that still doesn't explain why it couldnt have been that way with a full mythic skin.
why not just put a lower prism price on it? like wtf? paying the same price for things that are completely different is dumb. Mythic weapon skins should at maximum cost 20 prism
@Daiyamaruu my argument is is that weapon skins shouldn't even exist. The weapon already changes with an entire skin. Add the cool effects to the entire mythic.
They are probably going to give extra mythic coins in a future season to make it a big event and say they have added something new. They don't correct stuff on the season with the problem, they wait till later to make sure that the changes get pushed as a big moment for overwatch. Also all mythic skins have special effects on the weapons, so buying the rein one is basically paying for an unfinishe mythic
I called it when the prism shop came out. It would be fair if they had the prisms as well as the Mythic skin in the BP. But they cut the Mythic skin of the BP and now you're forced to buy those prisms.
Now this makes absolute sense cz at first I was like not bad we get to buy any mythic we want maybe i don’t want the current one, but then adding weapon skins? like cmon they know ppl will want that too but then what are you gonna do spend money on another battle pass you might not want and also risk not having the mythic skin weapon or character you wanted forcing you to pay money on those bogus prisms just marketing at its greediest
for what its worth that means you can get 2 mythics in one bp if you include the prisms which is alot for what you pay, and we all want that but its not good business so either they would’ve sacrificed the old mythics return and brought new mythic weapons as for the currency or just kept it the old way and forced us to buy prisms to get mythic weapons in second case is inconvenient and in first case not good business 🤷🏼♂️

Let us refund our current mythics for prisms (even limit it to pre s11 but we were told only earnable via bp). Another lie like pve bundle, pink mercy, and i assume previous bp skins in the shop eventually. I dont even use the three for my favorite heros and I only got Orisa since it was 1:1. Maybe I would rather a versatile weapon skin over the trash concept of mythic versions of the battle pass theme rather than mythic versions of the in lore characters, which is how original legendaries were. Turned my beloved sniper grandma into a robot and the robot into a bug. Bravo!
If at least breakpoints on prisms were different, where base skin was 50 and all upgrades were 50 too, so people would have coice between base and weapon or full skin.
But as is, it is just very predatory approach to things, and it will get worse

Totally agree with everything you say but sadly those within the community that have the biggest voice either won't talk about the problems anymore or left.
Not that I think voicing out the dissatisfaction will help bring along positive changes for the player base, but it's just depressing that they blizzard is getting away with more and more bullshit.

Everything you said is valid. I thought that because I’ve been collecting each mythic as they come, that I wouldn’t ever need to touch mythic prisms in the shop. I also like playing both characters and now I have to either make a choice to forgo one of them or shell out even more money. And the choice will feel crappy either way. And also is this going to be the norm going forward? Does this mean Rein won’t get a proper mythic skin any time soon? What does this say for other characters in the game that don’t get a lot of cosmetic love like Mercy does? Like Zarya or Brig? Will we be just getting their weapons before they get skins?
I have so many questions and none of this feels good. This is a complete failure on Blizzard’s part.

Ima be honest I think weapon inspect is being tested with the reinhardt weapon and then will be implemented to all hero’s free after some testing
testing with a paid dense mythic skin with all crazy effects is kinda crazy just doesn’t make sense but then they’ve done that before when they locked all heroes then unlocked all for everyone ig kinda similar but far off at the same time

Maybe, if all the other inspects do end up getting added, then the purchaseable inspect for the hammer will be refunded in prisms, or an equivalent amount of coins for its actual monetary value (like 2000 or something)

I basically use OW as the bad example when comparing monetization to other games. The people in charge of this don't understand customer service at all. This doesn't surprise me. It's just funny at this point 😂
The biggest problem with ow2 is hero locked cosmetics. Skins I understand, but what do you mean we have like 100 different versions of the “swagger” emote and they all have to be unlocked separately? I’m willing to bet why ow2’s battlepass is struggling is because not only do people have to decide if they like the content or not, they have to see if whatever content in there applies to the heroes they like. There is nothing for JQ, brig, ana, ram, or zen in this battlepass. The only skin that interests me is the reaper skin and even that’s ok. Combine with the fact that it’s worth it to save up credits for when good passes come through because you can’t make your credits back, and of course sales numbers will be down.
Another thing overwatch doesn’t understand is giving people more credits like games like fortnite do. Giving players premium currency to spend outside of the battlepass introduces a large portion of the player base to the in game shop. Most people, once they make their first purchase are willing to spend more money.
Brig had a skin in the last bp
Fortnite's model would actually work pretty well for Overwatch's BP. Keep the 600 coins in the free track, then in the premium track have 400-600 more coins to pay for the full cost of a battlepass. Allows people to purchase the BP once and get every subsequent pass with consistent play, and free players to get the BP every other season.

I absolutely love overwatch and I have stayed loyal through all the times blizzard has kinda betrayed our community and done some messed up stuff. But I must say. Charging money. Physical cold hard cash that has been labored for. For an inspect animation? Is Blizzard not embarrassed? This is just another of the many lows that just makes Blizzard look like an even bigger joke.
I say it like this as far as the weapon inspect thing go I like the fact that they put it on mythic weapons I do think it should be on like any weapon that is different from the default but I don't think I should be paying 80 prisms for it it should be 50 so I'll be paying 50 for the for the skin and the skin has the inspect on it

honestly the weapon shouldn't cost same as ashe skin. Im kinda not so keen on ashe skin. It doesn't much the character lore. Looks like a moira skin in my opinion. Does not suit ashe. The Reaper Buff and Symm were both Needed. I feel tho Mercy needs some Love tho.
I use Microsoft rewards I believe to redeem OW coins for the BP & that's it.
This game can eat the dirt at this rate. I like playing it here & there but I ain't dumping cash for trash

There's definitely a double agent at Blizzard. Someone high up too, making sure that the company fails. It's not like Blizzard does things that are mildly infuriating, no. They know exactly what the players hate and they do it every time. No way this isn't a sabotage operation of some sort. I refuse to believe that employed adults can be this bad at their job. I know they can be bad... but this bad? Hard to believe that the way Blizzard has fallen from grace is just "an accident"
Didn't even confirm the battlepass skins like last season
Reaper, genji, junkrat, Lucio, mauga, symmetra and ball are obtainable on the battlepass, Kaiju roadhog and Zenyatta are on the deluxe BP, and the rest is shop exclusive. So yeah another season of an ana skin locked behind the shop
I wish they would reduce the price for mythic skins or put more prisms in the battlepass so you could buy 1.5 mythic skins with each battle pass instead of just 1. But the game is owned by a greedy AAA company so the hopes for that are close to 0
From my understanding, normal weapon inspects are coming. The mythic ones are just unique and fancier???
They have never commented on normal weapon inspects to ever happen anytime soon but it should show your where their head is at that rather than getting the normal free ones out first, they'd rather get the paid ones out first instead.
They don't give 1000 coins back because The idiots thaught "oh lets make all The coins free" instead of doing like most passes and give like 200 free coins and then give 1000 something coins on the paid pass
You should really make back the gold you spend on thr battlepass. It's called player retention.... it makes casual players (majority of the player base) keep playing so they can keep getting the BP from one purchase. Keeping your player base wide and healthy.
I don't think you should be able to "bank" mythic tokens 80 earned and 80 spent (30 saved each time if just buying the base) is reasonable. What isnt reasonable is the actual price of mythic tokens
I love how inconsistent the mythic skins are because I never have to spend money to buy the battlepass. There's like a few shitty mythics followed by a really good one, which lets me build up the credits I need to buy the one I want.
You can just buy a battle pass when you know you will play earn prisms and buy a mythic you like whenever you want even day 1

This season is gonna be so boring, not gonna buy the bp for sure
overwatch is obviously struggling financially based on their decisions and other things coming out about the game, comparing it to other games that have made stupid amounts of money is a bit disingenuous. Fortnite and Apex can do what they do because they had a lot of initial capital to be generous, they did not start off as generous though.
Realistically what sucks is that OW1 was so stupidly generous and it was hard to make money. Now they're in a lose-lose position and OW2 was meant to set a better precedent. The skin prices are based off spending habits, they could sell things cheaper but only if they know the quantity of sales would offset the price reduction and then you have to compare that to the cost to make the cosmetic. Finding the right number is hard af but it isn't like they haven't tested lower prices.

Something like: Now that they are not so key to "Blizzard", team 4 will not be pressured as badly b/c it is so different when owned by a trillion dollar company?

Its not gonna be the worst, they got the lifeguard skins ready for a certain crowd to pay and they also did a season which its themes are very popular over seas, if anything, I do think mirrorwatch underperformed in a lot of ways.

Just don't buy them and go on playing, no one is forced to buy it and the game plays the same, also, most skin it could be argued gives you disadvantages while play because they can make you stand out more, like the jjonak zen skin that it's a wet dream for snipers.

If you pay money for anything in this game, you deserve to be scammed. You are literally paying for them to keep greedy and manipulative systems in the game, reinforcing these horrendous marketing ploys.
Also, the "mythic tier" of the weapon skins is kind of really annoying because they hyped up the "new weapon skins" to be the alternative to the default ones that come with skins (so that you could equip it on a skin you didn't like the default weapons on). If I had known they were going to release a higher quality gun skins, I wouldn't have wasted my hard earned coins (that took my 8+ months to earn through challenges) on the garbage hard-light skin. They should at least update the existing skins to have kill animations too, like a clutter of blue pixels dispersing upon elim.
