I had no idea they were getting a new codex. I actually am not a fan of the current necron lore, i prefer when the star gods weren't just shards, and it was actually them but much weakened running about wreaking havoc instead of being slaves to the silent king (there are things i DO like tho, like the void dragon having an actual model and stats lol). That kind of makes me excited to what they come up with in this new codex. Hopefully its the c'tan calling the shots again. :)
All that being said, and im not sure if its just me, but warhammer is so absurdly expensive these days, i just can't commit to buying anything to even play the smallest games. I MAY pick up the codex just to read maybe. I feel things were much more affordable a decade ago, but maybe im remembering wrong. I very much regret throwing away my old Necron army about 7 years ago. (I was moving back home, my life was falling apart, i was about to go to another country for what would become 6 years...I throw out almost everything i had....). I shouldnt have gotten rid of it lol....Ive wanted to get back into it lately, but yea, so expensive to pick it back up (that and most stores nearme that carry warhammer have like NO necrons....)

Hey, thank you for dropping on by, it’s appreciated. I never was around tbh for that O.G Necron lore but I like certain aspects of what you mentioned about C’tan. In current books even though they’re kinda enslaved they’ve put a kind of trauma on the Necron race per say. Like the flayer sickness & having flashbacks & thinking they’re in a physical body with lungs, eyes etc That’s kinda cool imo.
Yeah, I ain’t gonna pretend & say Warhammer is cheap & accessible because that’s not the case realistically. I’ve found in the past & even still when trying to save / cut corners eBay, kitbashing bits etc / online market places are kinda ok for somewhat of a discounted price.
