IRL, if a "psychic" were to give details such as "He had a small scar about three inches on the jawline, and he wore a single stud diamond in his left ear," they would be moved to the top of the list of suspects.
That was kind of the plot of the Pilot. Shawn called in a tip after watching a press conference about a case and he knew enough to make him the top suspect.

I used to like this show and I still like it. But now I sort of realise it's like a kid version of (the mentalist)
Entertainment's Best i see what you’re saying but I still like both. It’s amazing that the two shows have fake psychics but can differ so much.
Psych focuses on physical comedy centered on Roday’s performance and comedic character interactions. It’s very well written when you consider the roles of all the characters. Lassiter in particular has a compelling story arc. Juliet’s character also fits in this space of liking Shawn but trying to follow in lassiter’s footsteps. The cases are also good because it’s fun to see Shawn spot physical evidence and read people.
The mentalist, on the other hand, focuses on reading people and puts physical evidence on the way side. I originally wanted to hate it for copying psych, but Patrick Jane’s manipulations of everyone around him in order to solve cases is so fun to watch. In the end though, I wouldn’t say psych is the kid version or anything, but the mentalist’s style of humor is drier in general.
@@williamsweatt8852 I like what you've written and I would reply in agreeing with you from what I have seen. But it's been so long since I watched both shows that I can't really write much. But yeah I definitely like what you e write and it's something I'd write too if I could vividly remember both shows. Definitely both fantastic shows though. Enjoyed each and every episode of both shows when I watched them
I think it's because of the new movie coming out.
Gus was so quiet until that end when he demeaned Shawn.

@@Louis_k27 Appearantly it's supposed to be airing on NBCU streaming service which hasn't been released yet. So once the streams service is release, then we will probably get a release date.

Can someone help me find an episode of Psych? All I remember is that Shawn was like being held captive in someone's house I think (it's not Shawn takes a shot in the dark) and Gus figures out Shawn is in danger because Shawn didn't make a joke on the phone.
Man, I've been binging recently. I think its the second episode featuring Blackapella. Shawn doesn't make a joke about being in the group, iirc. "Let's Doo Wap It Again"
