I bought an A6400 second-hand with three lenses for $1300. Best decision I've ever made. The 4K no recording limit is awesome, as well as the built-in mic, autofocus, and upgradability. This camera is coming up close.
Michael Chan are the three lenses the 16-50mm, 55-210 and the 50mm?
I might have to get this camera for sure. It would be a definite upgrade from what im currently using. Thanks for the info.

Hey Seth, great buy. I might suggest trying out the new Sony RX100 mkVii. The quality is amazing, the 4k is stunning couple that with a log profile makes for some amazing dynamic range. For a point and shoot, especially for video it's the best that's been released. Also the pre amps in Sony's built in mics are always the cleanest. And for incognito recording throw in a rode wireless go and the combo is killer. My 2 cents.

The Sony is great, but like Damire said the Sony RX100 VII is $1200, which is $500 more than this Canon. You pay for what you get I suppose and in all honesty you don't need the best of the best to make quality videos. Get what fits your budget, its more the user than the tool anyway.
@@enellive yes of course you don't need the best. But as someone who uses this equipment to actually make money then good gear is a worthwhile investment. If money is the biggest factor then using your phone would be more than enough. When it comes to price, performance and value; 500 dollars isn't that big of a deal in the long run especially if you're aiming to make money from this.

A lot of users complaining about bad focus and overheating! What's your experience?
I bought this as the vlogging kit with the tripod. I was disappointed for both the reasons above. We took it on a holiday to Norway and the focussing drove us nuts. A tendency to keep going out of focus and take up to 10 seconds to refocus was unacceptable. The overheating issue was a bind. Before purchasing there was no mention of it being able to shoot 4K for 10 minutes only was not mentioned. On top of the 10-minute restriction, it must be remembered that it's then necessary to wait for around 20 minutes to cool down before shooting in 4K again, otherwise, you only get between 3 - 7 minutes of 4K.
Actually just started looking for my first "real" camera, so I appreciate the timing of this.
I am really curious about how it compares to iphone xs and Osmo Pocket.
What made you choose this over the new new RX-100 mark 7? Obviously it costs substantially more but curious if that was the main reason.
