This is a special video for me as I present my father with an early 70th Birthday Present surprise, a custom-made Chris Britton Fishing Rod. My dad is my hero, he taught me to fish, but also taught me to chase my dreams. So when his 70th Birthday was approaching I wanted to give him something as unique as he is. So, Chris Britton Rods came through with an amazing 6' 6" single carbon blank 2-5KG Tourney Spin with Skeleton Reel seat and Fuji guides. I matched it with a Shimano Stradic FM 2000HG reel from Mark Berg's Addict Tackle, spooled with 10lb Suffix Braid. With my dad being a former teacher, and my fishing mentor, I added a personalised message on the rod saying "Teaching Life's Lessons, One Cast At A Time"...
We also have a big announcement for the channel. I recently accepted the position of General Manager at Pioneer Water Tanks SA and the boss loves the idea of me taking the company LC200 Landcruiser around to my various fishing destinations. We then have 3 generations of the family with my dad, myself, and my daughter fishing for bread and butter species from the Port Vincent Wharf on the Yorke Peninsula. Dad catches his first fish on his new Chris Britton Rod and we end up with a great feed of Tommy Ruff (Australian Herring). An amazing day fishing with the family that I'll remember for a long time.

Thanks Kevin! Absolutely loving the new job and Pt Vincent is always generally a pretty good bet to get some fish. It's also a good place to stay with access to many other great landbased fishing on both east and west coasts of the Peninsula. Unfortunately, this weekend I was sick, so I didn't have a chance to get back to catch up with Dad again on his trip. But, it allowed me the time at home to edit and release this vid!

Yes the 3 generations fishing together was probably as important as the rod.
Good tip about using just the weight of the line, the bait would hang freely and more naturally, and no interference sensing the bite

Awesome work mate, I did this a few years ago, had Steve Morris build a 15kg superstick stand up game rod, with leather grips and all the bells and whistles.
