    Absolutely excellent, excellent explanation and close-up demonstration of this. BEST out of all the others I've watched. Now I understand and can do the stitch. Thank you!

    I just watched this video and also the one on the right lifted increase and you were the first person that ever helped me understand the difference between the left and the right lifted increases. The way you do it makes so much sense and I now can remember how to do both without constantly looking it up as I knit!!! Thank you so much. Love your videos!!!

    Thank you for explaining exactly what you are doing while showing us. I have watched many LLI videos, but could never really see if they were using the second or third stitch. Your video showed everything very close up and was very helpful. I now have the confidence to try it. Do you use it on socks?

    I love your up close but it appears you knit the stitch to have the LLI first?! Is that correct? Then pick up the second stitch below and knit through the back loop of the left leg of the V? Thank you again.

    When you do left increase in the context of reading a pattern, if pattern says k3, LLi ... do I knit the 3 then lift off that 3rd knit column or knit a 4th and lift off the 4th knit column

    • @TheBlueMouseKnits
      @TheBlueMouseKnits  8 днів тому

      Hi, does your pattern specify anywhere how to work the LLI? In my experience the increase is usually counted as the stitch you knit + the increase. So I would guess it to mean K4 then work the increase into the side of that 4th stitch. But I would check the notes or abbreviations section of that pattern.

  • @lisaanderson135
    @lisaanderson135 2 роки тому

    Emily, this stitch confuses me. Because of the slipped stitch I feel like I am increasing by 2 stitches instead of 1 if I am counting the slipped stitch. This is driving me crazy and I feel like I am going to substitute a M1L instead 🤦🏼‍♀️

    When do you know when to do the LL1 and keep the stitch count correct? EX. K4 LL1, 4 times.

    • @TheBlueMouseKnits
      @TheBlueMouseKnits  2 роки тому

      I believe in an example like that you would work the LLI into the 4th stitch of your repeat, the 4th knit stitch. Does that make sense?

  • @andreanelson8482
    @andreanelson8482 Місяць тому

    So when I do this increase let’s say the pattern says K3, LLI. Am I increasing on the 3rd stitch or knitting once more and increasing what is technically the 4th stitch?

    • @TheBlueMouseKnits
      @TheBlueMouseKnits  29 днів тому

      It depends on the pattern you're following. I find that most patterns use the increase as a full stitch too, so k3, LLI would be into the 4th stitch, but hopefully it will tell you in the pattern notes. I prefer to separate the stitch from the increase when writing patterns, but usually they're paired together as 1 full stitch.
