Yep, here i am, mid forty, keep coming back to songs i can relate to, to bands like talk talk with real and true music. This is one song that will always be with me. Love it. This is in no comparison with todays sh#t. I hate those to optimistic, made up, feel good sh#t.
Favorite memories .... the excitement of Laughing Stock coming out, rushing home to hear it. 1st time seeing them, open for the Psychadellic Furs in NYC, and seeing them again in a super small venue up close and of course the MTV incessant playing of "Its My Life" with the animals running around and the stripes on Mark's mouth. !! Now in my 60's the music still lives on and on with glee and gratitude.
i have loved there music since Talk talk single, i still suprise myself that all these years on it still sounds as fresh and unique. The arrangements are brilliant, marks vocals amazing, Mark Hollis solo album is very different and very mesmerising

That's not true at all. There are amazing muscians of today to discover, but you lost likely won't hear them on the radio, let alone see them on TV. Either way though, Talk Talk were indeed absolutely unique and their last 2 albums are among of the best albums ever recorded.

Had the cassette probably in in '83; going to school, living @ my coach's parents' house, made the move to Utah, had to be with my girl. Rene, Caroline knows, etc... no air conditioning, not Mormon but she was. Made it back to the valley

I may be in the minority, as one of those that witnessed the colour of spring tour (Ipswich of all places) I am hard pressed to not put This concert at the top of my list of concerts attended, and Ive seen a few... How Mark Hollis cant give one more generation the gift he gave us is now bordering on criminal.
Amazing how much they improved this song when they went into the "Colour of Spring" style and dumped that synthpop pidgeonhole. I liked the original, but this is f'ing GREAT.
