This is super amazing. So proud of the both of you. Sihle, still remember you from EHS. I did a Bcom at UCT, finished last year. I'm now studying LS and Physics since I didn't do them in high school. 2022 hopefully I'll get accepted into medicine.
Thank you for this Selu. I was discouraged from medicine because I was convinced I was dumb and there was no hope with my terrible matric marks but seeing the people who have succeeded despite not getting in straight out of matric is inspiring. It hurt so much giving up the dream because hope was lost but your channel has shown me that it's not too late. I am currently pursuing the dream. I will come back to this comment in a few years just to update you on my journey.
What if in high school you are doing life sciences and math lit and you want to do first nursing and then go to medicine ..but without the wapt and gemp ...please help please ..
The selection criteria considers a lot of factors.. though my school was poorly perfoming but it was of a higher quartile therefore competition kicked me out. My average was 85% and i applied at UCT for medicine. I was late for most institutions (had no proper guidance regarding applications) as a results UCT was my only option and they did not take me.
@@machikhomotso9337 they consider race , gender , the quartile to which your school belongs to, extra mural activities you've participated in, who will be sponsoring you and lastly your nationality.. for every criteria there is a specific number or percentage of students they are going to take. Hi Jina , yes I got into BSc with level 4s in math and science.... they take a few students in the extended program ( about 50 last time I checked ), competition is tight there as well , you need to get your As .
@@sharmainmathabo3856 yes you can , typically an average above 75% is good enough to secure you a spot. Also, apply to as many medical schools as you can to increase your chances of getting accepted. Best wishes.

Had Sihle already applied for a Bsc at Sefako Makgatho or was it a walk-in application after he got his matric results?
Hi Noluthando , I had applied for it as a second choice.
6 distinctions but you couldn't get in? Why? 😭What was your average? And which universities did you apply at?
