Listening to you talk about the Percy Jackson series makes me want to go back and reread them in the future. I'd always heard so much good things about Riordan's works following that series, but I didn't really read many of them outside of a few here and there
Hi! I'm commenting on this old AF video because I watch UA-cam in bursts, and catch up on everything I missed. I'm really glad you loved A Desolation Called Peace and also Baru Cormorant, because they are some of my favorites and I feel like no one talks about them on booktube! I can't wait to see what Arkady Martine does next!
Thank you Regan 🥰 for sharing your reading wrap up with us, and for sparking our curiosity with your thoughtful recommendations. Keep up the amazing work, and may your next month's reading adventure be even more captivating!
I just finished rereading Percy Jackson too! And it was a fun and refreshing read because I forgot most of the stories already, yet I still enjoyed them. 🧡
This month i read: 1. (non-fiction) How Computer Really Works by Matthew Justice 2. Kafka on the Shore by Haruki Murakami 3. The Writing Retreat by Julia Bartz 4. Yellowface by R F Kuang 5. Spring Snow by Yukio Mishima and 6 volumes of Sasaki and Miyano

Never read Percy Jackson as a kid but I remember the Logan Lerman movies. Only now hearing the movies changed a lot from the books. With the Disney+ series coming is it worth checking out the books first?
@@mglarson5936 when I was a kid thought the movies were fine and then couple years back I saw videos saying that Rick Riordan himself didn’t like the movie adaptations for how many changes they made, and that made me sad for him 😢 Apparently the Disney+ series is supposedly more faithful to the source material, so great that it’s getting a 2nd chance and hopefully the books will be having a reinassance too!
I read the newest Percy Jackson book, the Sun & the Star, featuring Will and Nico this month. I also read 5 other books this month: Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation vol 5, Night Angel Nemesis, Bastion, Husky & His White Cat Shizun vol 2, Remnants of Filth vol 1, and Heaven's Official Blessing vol 6. All but Bastion were 5 star reads for me.
I finally read my first Brandon Sanderson - The Final Empire - and loved it! I’ve been so scared to approach his books but the audio book was fantastic. Also read Swordheart by T. Kingfisher, which I think you would love if you haven’t read it!
I HIGHLY highly recommend The Endling trilogy by KA Applegate (same author from the Animorphs back in the day). Great middle grade series with amazing messages

Love the nostalgia for Percy Jackson! My husband is constantly rereading them and it is a middle grade story that has stood the test of time!

I read the Monk and Robot duology in May as well, absolutely LOVED it. Immediately became one of my favorite books/series

Love Yukio Mishima! Fascinating author.
I liked the Writing Retreat very much. The concept was interesting😃
What did you think of Kafka on the Shore? I've tried reading it a couple times but can never get farther than 20-30 pages before losing interest.
I have been wanting to read Percy Jackson forever! Planning to read the series before the show comes out!
Percy Jackson is so great. I'm planning on starting a reread of The Heroes of Olympus in June
I downloaded the serpent of the wings of night! Hoping to get to it this month. Great wrap up as usual 😊
I'm sorry I'm sure you've gotten this question many times but I was wondering where you found your floor lamp! I love it so much

Yes definitely! The books are so fun! ❤❤
@@notthemostread added to my TBR! Saw some Rick Riordans at a used bookstore couple days back, might return tomorrow to check them out ❤
Definitely read the books first - the movies are so, so different (and much worse)
