Please keep making these videos where you bring in people who are newer to skating and have them learn something. It is really nice being able to relate to someone who is learning a new trick in skating 🔥
I totally agree. I am learning how to skate as I am a new skateboarder. I can relate to these people and this actually helps motivate me to keep skating.
@@SuperGirlRockStar100 That's awesome! I am also a newer skater and also feel motivated when watching videos like this. I wish you the best of luck. Keep on shredding and improving 🤙
On this day (Tuesday, June 21, 7:00 pm) I landed my very first kickflip and thus completed the SMS basic tricks!!! Thank you braille for helping me with all my tricks and for making skateboarding fun! 🖤🖤🖤
Jenise you are right about slamming... I'm 44 and just got back into skating a couple months ago. It's been like 20 years since I skated regularly and my first day back I absolutely ate it and it literally took almost a month to recover lol!
because you need to train how to fall before you can train how to land...spend equally as much time conditioning your body to falling. That means doing a lot of rolling exercises and stuff on the ground. Or throw some thin padding on the ground and just practice falling in different ways, get a stuffed toy or something and do some wrestling moves and slam on the ground but with padding on the ground. Once your body gets a bit more conditioned then slamming while skating is nothing. Never too old to take up jiu jitsu and do some rolling with that too
No idea if anyone has mentioned this before, but it would be super cool if in "game of sk8" vids you listed the trick somewhere on screen like you did for Vert Dawgs! As a beginner, I have a hard time distinguishing a flip from the other types. (Ex. I call tre flips shuvs all the time) I would really appreciate them being labeled so I can learn them quicker!!
Jenise talking about slamming in your 20s like she’s old made me chuckle. Let me tell you about slamming in your 40s. But seriously, that was sick Jenise! Congrats 🎉
I've seen the more recent videos and Gabe was right, once she learned to bend her knees on the landing, her skills improved 10-fold. Crazy to see this video after seeing her newer stuff. What a freakin shredder!
Hey guys, im a beginner skateboarder at 33 and even though I understand the pop, i have to say it looks like Janise can seriously exaggerate how to properly pop.. Slow it down when she pops and you'll see what I mean.. I vote for a beginner ollie tutorial by janise slow motioned so we can really see that it is jump then snap of the ankle.. 👏👏👏 also amazing job on the kickflip!!
i agree, why learn stationary when you just learn them while moving? learning them stationary and then moving is like having to learn the trick twice. he's right its much more difficult to pop the tail while moving after doing it stationary for a while. while moving my pops are so weak.
She totally has the ollie up the curb, it forces you to land with your knees bent so maybe a helmet and pads might help get over the expected kick out slams the first few tries.
Hey man! About to get my first skateboard. I live in an area with really terrible pavement that's full of deep cracks, which I couldn't just ollie over because of how many there are. What sort of board would handle this sort of pavement the best? Is there anything I can do to make it easier as a beginner?
I'd recommend looking into a longboard or something with bigger wheels overall, that's going to give you more room to roll over those kinds of obstacles
Jenise, with regards to the snowboarder who ran into you and impacted the screw in your leg, you should have replied with: "No one messes with my screw. Screw this and screw you!"
Falling in your 20s shouldn't hurt. Hmm, or should it? Me and my friends always did and it was always fine. That's made me question things now lol. I still feel fine even in my 30s but 20s was definitely better.
So happy to unlock this one. Big things are coming!!!
Your amazing!!!!! Keep it up.. Your energy is amazing.. Tell rick i said hi
hellooo
Killing it!!!!
Can see you are really putting your mind to it and giving it ur all. Keep it up.
More like big things are happening 🙌🙌🙌🙌

Absolutely love Jenise’s energy!!!
Raising the baseline is exactly how I think of progression! Glad you said something, it’s very helpful.
Thank you Jenise. I've always watched your videos on your channel. Well done on a moving kickflip. You're right. It truly is a massive leap forward
I love how you guys learn and encourage people to skate🔥
She killed it with confidence.

@@jeffmason6900 yeah it will toughen your body rolling with the bjj guys
Been seeing Janice progress her kickflips from the start. Hyped to see her do it moving!!
She inspires me to skate.

Jenise will learning a lot of landing a great kickflip to have enough consistency and finding her confidences working out really well!
You guys make me want to start skating again.

Jenise is a freakin cutie! way to go with the kick flip, that’s when the doors open up with skating.

I believe the first step of skateboarding is learning how to fall. I'm almost 40 and it's very important to know the roll.
Great job Jenise :) 👍
An angel gets its wings every time a new sk8r lands their fist kflip. Makes me smile
lol, i love gabe is like "that is luck." when she lands primo
so true
Jenise: something something but excruciating pains could be inevitable !!
Ricky's solution: _Wish her well!_
lol

I was half expecting Gabe to say 'you land it right now and I'll buy you those Jamba juices that I already owe you.' 😅

when Ricky was talking abt how ppl loose confindence when rolling when im still my board doesnt get of the ground but when im moving it gets off lol.
Aaaaye lets go jenise!!!!
I've never landed a stationary kick flip. But I have landed a rolling one in a game of skate. Was wild.
I too struggle with kickflips, i cant jump high enough(big skater)

Never too late! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
