Margaret, I now use resistance band only when wearing protective eye goggles. I recently had a door open when doing shoulder exercises while using resistance bands. I was hit by the foam door anchor just below my eye which caused a vitreous detachment. I was very lucky that I didn't damage my retina or have vision loss. Please exercise caution when using these bands. Love your videos, thanks!

Please note that you can injure yourself with resistance bands. When they are not properly secured, the straps can fly back and hit you in the face or eye. Make sure that the bands are securely strapped in before starting the exercise. In particular:
1./ Give the bands a quick firm tug before starting an exercise and when they are in the door enclosure to ensure that they do not pop out.
2./ Check that the door is securely closed and that the latch is "clicked in".
3./ Do not strap to a door that opens in the same direction as your pulling direction!!! Strap into a door that opens in the opposite direction.

I would love to do those exercises right at the beginning of the video but I am not allowed the stance you take because I am 3 month out having had an anterior hip replacement and not allowed certain positions. Can you do those exercises just standing with your knees slightly bend? I had torn my left rotator cuff before on my left shoulder as well.
I love the clear, and specific instructions on how to carry out the exercise in good form. Good photography showing from all different sites. Very informative. Is there a recommendation on which band resistance to start with? Also, interested in which shoes you were wearing as they look nice and wide, also with not much toe lift or heel drop. I am 68 with fairly high t scores and I’m working towards keeping myself healthy and not having to take any of the drug therapies offered.

Thank you for the information. I live on Vancouver island and will look into this on Amazon. Also, I’m not sure if you had a chance to read my question about the type of shoes you’re wearing as I have ongoing problems and I’ve tried some minimalist shoes that I’m not quite ready for and the ones you were wearing look very good.

I have arthritis in my right shoulder. Would these exercises help reduce pain or make it worse. Never sure what is safe to do.
You should discuss this question with your physician or physical therapist, but, in short, probably not best to do these with arthritis in the shoulder.
Just tried exercise for the first time. I have difficulty in not bending my elbows.
What if i already have pain in my shoulders?
