  • Self massage for Biceps Tendonitis is very effective, massage therapy has been a proven effective treatment option for biceps tendonitis because it helps reduce tension in the muscle fibers surrounding the injured tendon.
    To let your biceps tendonitis recover completely, you first must avoid any pain-provoking activity or movements. It will only irritate the tendon, which will prevent it from healing. Secondly, what you can do is massage the painful spot on your biceps. That will reduce the swelling and increases blood flow in the tendon.

    I took a bad fall a couple of months ago. While trying to catch myself, I damaged both shoulders. The left is worse than the right. However, both are still sore, and I don't have much lifting strength. Trying to sleep is a battle in itself.

    I was told I had some bursitis and possibly a pinched nerve in my neck. 3 weeks if pain before getting some relief. With some pt and meds I was getting some relief but this massage has given me less pain and more range of motion in just two days. Thank you for your videos! I added the biceps tendonitis massage today. My arm has been sore from neck to my hand for weeks.

    I found your website today and followed along with the deep massages. I am recovering from ankle surgery and alternating between a walker and a wheelchair. The repetitive motion of turning wheels has caused me great pain in both shoulders and biceps. In four weeks my doctor will release me from pt and full weight bearing. You stressed that if you don't eliminate the cause, you won't fix the problem. Can you give me some ideas on how to relieve the pain while still having to use a wheelchair. Thank You!!

    • @MotionRestoration
      @MotionRestoration  9 місяців тому +1

      Thank you for writing! I’m sorry to hear about your surgery and I hope you have a speedy recovery!
      When it comes to using wheelchair’s the best advice I can give is to strengthen your posterior shoulder, your rotator cuff and watch your biomechanics (how your body is moving the wheelchair and upper body position) when your shoulders roll forward to push the chair your putting extra stress on your front shoulder muscles and bicep tendon, which will cause a burning pin in your biceps, front shoulder and neck muscles.
      Band exercises for posterior shoulder and rotator cuff will help.

I am so glad I came across your video and I am now a subscriber. I've been doing a lot of exercises for biceps tendonitis but it seems nothing is working and even made the pain worst. I have interacted with a lot of people having the same problem and I intend to share my experience and highly recommend your massage techniques and share your link, I know that this will greatly help them. Again, thank you for this post and I'm really glad this appeared in my suggested reels. Looking forward to more massage techniques for shoulder issues. Have a great day! 😊

    Looks great but what about the valves in your views by rubbing hard towards fingers?

    • @MotionRestoration
      @MotionRestoration  3 місяці тому +1

      Yes, massage therapy can affect the valves in your veins, but the impact depends on the specific massage technique and the condition of your veins.
      Massage therapy can improve blood circulation by helping to move blood through the veins and back to the heart. This can be beneficial for people with conditions like varicose veins or chronic venous insufficiency, where the valves in the veins may not be functioning properly.

    I just bought a upper arm support compression bicep tendonitis brace. How many hours a day would you recommend I wear? I was also thinking of wearing it to sleep? I am also icing 3 times a day for 15 mins and I am also going to start massage as per your video.

    • @MotionRestoration
      @MotionRestoration  8 місяців тому +2

      Hello! It is safe to wear all day, but I wouldn't wear it for a full 24 hours, you still need to move freely and have circulation to the tendon. Before a massage, I would add a heat pack for 5 min to help increase circulation and relax the muscles.
      After 5-14 days from the tendon pain starting, you should be doing a vascular flush/contrast hydrotherapy to the affected area; 3 min heat, 1 min cold for 16 min. and repeat 3 times a day.
      If you need anymore help, please feel free to reach out.

    How often do you advise icing I have subacriminol and deltoid bursitis in both sides

    • @MotionRestoration
      @MotionRestoration  6 місяців тому +1

      Sorry to hear, that's awful! You should be icing for 20 min on and 10 min off for 1 hour 3X a day (I did first thing in the morning, in the afternoon, then again before bed) for the first 5 day's. Then I did a vascular flush 3 times a day (Heat for 4 min, ice for 1 min, heat for 4 min, ice for 1 then finish off with 4 min of heat) doing this for the 7 day's. Then I turned to 10 min heat before an activity or massage, then icing for 10 min after exercise or massage.

    how do you know what the cause is. you say eliminate the cause. i injured it while blowing leaves 2 months ago. and play tennis and pickleball is that keeping it from healing

    • @MotionRestoration
      @MotionRestoration  4 місяці тому +1

      Thank you for your comment. Sorry to hear you are going through this pain.
      Your tendon needs time to heal with minimal irritation, you need to stop what is causing the inflammation when you are doing certain activities (such as tennis and pickleball) you need to give the tendon a real rest. It can be a minimum of a month of no bicep activities and just massage, heat, pain free stretching of the biceps and active ranges of motion.
      The cause could be tennis and pickleball but the 'straw that broke the camels back" could have been the leaf blower. Sometimes we have weakened the tendons because of our repetitive activities and it only takes 1 thing to set it off.

      Thank you for your feedback, I should have explained better. It is different on the surface of everyone because of adipose tissue, muscle mass and size of the person that’s why I didn’t just point to it on me because it will be different on you.
      Easiest way is to place your arm behind your back & relax it, feel along your collar bone towards your shoulder where your fingertips will feel a “valley/groove”.
