- The Alton Towers Resort is home to many different rides and attractions, all known for being some of the best in the country and even Europe! That including Nemesis, The Smiler and Wickerman! But what would I do if I owned Alton Towers? Would I remove Rita? Would I change the layout of Oblivion or would I change Galactica into a completely different theme? Here's what I'd do if I owned Alton Towers!

You can't be removing Cbeebies land Dan....there goes 3/4 of your revenue! Give it 10 years and I think your Rita replacement dreams might come true. I'm 100% behind the water coaster idea and getting Dual completely refurbished! 👍

On the duel referb, I seem to remember an added part, more zombies and jumpscares that somehow scared me. I think I was a kind of haunted mansion bit after the start
Jamiedempo22 you're right. Cbeebies land is the child friendly area of the park. Many people who come to the towers have young children, removing many visitors. No cbeebies land, no money, no money, no new rides, no new rides, no towers.
Removing cbeebies land would be alot of room for just way better rides plus Alton towers already makes 100s of thousands of pounds coming in every day
If I owned Alton Towers I would make Galactica actually fit in with the forbidden valley theme, and Rita would vanish and be replaced with something similar to Hagrids as you said. The Smiler deserves a repaint because in it’s current state it looks soo tired.

Yeah but I can see it from two points of view one: it makes it look more creepy but not really fit in with the government theme but two: it would look way better and more intimidating

1. i would give wicker man the RMC treatment, retrack it and retheme it to wallace and gromit: mechanical mishaps
2. re-brand the dark forest back to ug land and move thr13teen to forbidden valley
3. demolish rita and make a f1 track there
4. make a david willams world coaster
5. make the octonauts coaster SW9, by making it launch up to 168 mph and go up to 699 ft

I mean, if Wicker Man begins to show its age within a couple of decades, then either it would be re-tracked by GCI with the Titan track to keep the theme, or just give it the full RMC treatment instead and change the theme entirely like you said.

I personally, would give Rita a bit of an airtime hill and an LSM launch, airtime hill on the launch, airtime hill after the launch, turn right, do some intense dangle dives, a dive loop, then I don't even know what.
We have been confident on nemesis' retrack for like 2 years now. The planning permission documents are online. We also have a confirmed Duel retheme. Your ideal park is on the way! :)
sub terra was one of the scariest rides i had ever been on. Ofc i was about 10 or something, but looking back at it now it would be such a good addition
I would add another coaster to X - Sector as its quite lonely there

Gloomy Wood definitely wants like a sister ride to Vampyre at chessington. Something on the same thrill level as wickerman. Maybe like a vekoma suspended family coaster

Permanent flat rides, some serious work on Duel and the rapids and maybe in a few years a mack inverting water coaster.
I’d replace Rita with a new age vekoma like lech. Add a thrilling water ride similar to Valhalla but themed to pirates in mutiny bay. Indoor horror/haunted mansion theme indoor Gerstlauer bobsled coaster for a family thrill in gloomy wood. Galactica back to air. Spruce up the rapids. Replace the mine train with one similar to phantasialand one. Then at least 2 permanent, heavily themed flat rides in each park area!
I’d renovate the Alton Towers house/ castle to its former glory. I’ve been going to Alton Towers for a very long time now, and even as a child I was sad that it was in ruin. I’d make it a hotel.
I would completely redo oblivion by keeping the drop but adding a cheeky little inversion, some airtime hills and maybe a vertical li- but that what I would do also rita can do one
I will name the retrack of nemesis to NEMESIS R3TR4CK.
I will repaint the smiler to the theming of x sector cuz it’ll be saur cool.
I will fit galactica to the theming of forbidden valley.

If I were to do anything, keep the world record breaking coasters such as Galactica the same, retract some like oblivion or retract a ride to make it have a world record like nemesis, after all, it is a world record breaking park
1. I would refurbish octonauts to a much bigger coaster and move it to x sector
2. Replace rita with sw9 and make it go up to the maximum speeds to 94 mph
3. Make a david williams coaster
4. Rename david williams area back to talbot street
5. Reopen corkscrew
6. Move thr13teen to forbidden valley
7. Do a refurbishment to wicker man
1 and only 1 thing id change- lower the prices and also add air con to the skyride bc i went 2 days ago and they were shut and we had to walk everywhere
10 things I'd do if I were in charge of Alton Towers...
1. New monorails
a. Repaint the monorail station green
2. Updated & rebuild Spinball (call it Spinball Twizzer (cuz Spinball 2 sounds too dull))
3. Redesign/retrack Rita (while still keeping it, eat shit)
a. Lotsa TLC to Thirteen
4. Update X-Sector
a. Oblivion stays (but reopen X-Sell)
b. Revitalize Smiler (lotsa TLC)
c. New permanent flat ride (maybe a permanent rethemed Funk'n'Fly clone)
5. New Forbidden Valley coaster on Galactica carpark (multi-launch)
a. Revitalize Sub-Terra to keep tourists in (with Nemesis retrack and all that)
b. MAKE THE RIVER RED AGAIN
c. Bring back Ripsaw
6. Keep Wicker Man, but add new indoor water coaster as well (Flume 2)
7. Bring the effects back to Congo River Rapids
8. Retheme Driving School
9. Booster bike coaster in Gloomy Wood
10. Wash those dang bricks out front
How about at the end right next to october north stoke rollercoaster there will be a peppa pig roller coaster and a pepper land

I would remove the rapids and replace it with a Mack extreme spinner in the trenches themed to some kind of safari and where the end lift hill thing is would be a beyond vertical drop from the station. Keep the rapids station as like a moving platform to increase dispatch too.

I think the reason Cbeebies land is expanding so fast is because all th rides are so small they don't have to spend % years in planning applications!
Obviously destroy the towers itself and bring in a new CBeebies land interactive walkthrough like the Furchester Hotel
9 things i’d do- this will be somewhat controvertial.
1. replace spinball with either a gertslaur family coaster like fire chaser at dollywood with a towers story theme sort of like hex or a smaller gerst family coaster and a few flats for cebebies.
2.i’d clean up x sector and enhance the theming on the whole area and put in one of zamperla’s modern enterprises where enterprise is and then a perminant flat where spinjam is.
3. behind katanga canyeon and gloomy wood there is a huge area of trees then empty gravel storage space. this is where sw9 would be. intamin multi launch with an african theme to fit in with katanga canyeon and redo that area including getting new boats and effects on congo so it’s more like infinity falls.
4. there’d still be space left over so i’d put in a dueling vekoma boomerang like that one in that zoo in the netherlands to fit in with gloomy wood and give duel a big referb.
6. id separate nemmi and galactica and put a new flat where the retro squad one is that fits more in the theme of nemesis and make forbidden valley make more sense.
7. on the car park by galactica, i would build a water coaster with maybe 2 inversions and a launch or 2, with a futuristic theme and an extra flat and buildings to make galactica make more sense and enhance the theming on galactica.
8. in the dark forest- replace roller disco with something else and maybe another flat and improve rita’s queue. (i can’t see rita leaving to soon as tbh it is reliable, has a decent throughput and is still popular).
9. id make mutiny bay into a more wickerman themed area, including battle galeons as this wouldn’t take too much work since the aesthetics of the area are already quite wickerman-like.
10. id open up more areas of the towers and run guided heritage tours of the ruins and the gardens. in the closed season, i’d open the park for the gardens and towers from january till march. for christmas, make the whole park just one cost entry, with ice skating, entertainment and a couple more rides open- maybe oblivion
This is such a great list of updates! Something like fire chaser could really work well, and they definitely do need to open up more of the towers! 🔥

I would replace Rita for anything keep CBeebies land remove all the flat rides and try make it into more little rollercoasters like the octanauts ride and yes add a massive water ride for mutiny bay and also change Galitca for air because I like the beginning at the start of the ride I have never been on it but I have seen the air advert I love it where it says air really quietly.

I think they should maybe just retheme mutiny bay and put a lot more flat rides in there and maybe a kiddy drop tower? But I do agree with you with the rapids as they just seem more like a lazy river right now 😂😂

Has anyone noticed a digger and some sort of work happening in Alton Towers at the lakeside walk (mutiny bay -> forbidden valley)

I think that if i own the Alton towers very huge difference is no treeline height limit I don't wanna be strict also wickerman may be removed or transformed into RMC also i would make thunder looper 2 and remaining corkscrew track pieces would be good idea to transport into Thorpe park i also think that i make more powerful lunach into zero to 80 miles for hour in just 1.5 seconds also i would of course retheme and rename smiler into space shuttle and instead of a second lift hill there would be spinning section that goes spins 180 degrees into lunach into top hat slightly taller than the current tallest point in smiler also i would add 6 more inversions in smiler and octonauts roller coaster adventure would be also retheme and rename into well smiler i would also build worlds first 400 foot tall chaindrag roller coaster replaceing farming feald and wouid be even longer
than steel dragon 2000 with 10 inversions i think also every gentle flat ride non in cbeebies land i guess would be removed for more thrilling family friendly and non family friendly flat rides and aqua power unique underwater ride in a tube lunaches i would also there's also i think there's would be spiral slide 200 feet tall sliding down from a treetop

if I owned Alton Towers, this is what I'll do
Change or rebrand the names of the rides.
Rename Spinball Whizzer to Workout Crescent because it sounds like a good name.
Rita will have 2 laps instead of 1 to meet demand
Build a diving pool ride themed around Tom Daley..
Th13teen will be renamed Thirteen to avoid confusion with numbers and letters
Change Galactica back to Air - why change the name?
A revamped HEX.
Adding a new annual event to the park - the Alton Towers Marathon, where athletes run around the park in the fastest time and the first to ride The Smiler wins.
This would be my plan for if i owned Alton towers (With unlimited money)
- Remove spinball whizzer and replace it with a gerstlauer bobsled, and make it a part of cbeebies land.
- Repaint smiler and add some TLC.
- Remove enterprise and spinjam and replace it with a drop tower sunken into the ground (to satisfy height restrictions) which could tie in to oblivions theming, along with another permanent flatride.
- The world of David Walliams gets some new rides as it looks slightly empty, along with the driving school being rethemed.
- Rita gets destroyed and is replaced with a mack extreme spinner, focusing on inversions and tight turns.
- Rollerdisco gets replaced with a well themed permanent flatride.
- Galactica gets rethemed so it actually makes sense, with them also adding the waterfalls and stuff like in the original concept art.
- The blade gets removed and replaced with a newer pirate ship which could tie in with the forbidden valley theme.
- Funk n fly gets replaced with a permanent flatride.
- Katanga canyon gets "Split in half", with runaway mine train and congo getting removed, and one half becoming an extension of gloomy wood and the other joining a new wicker man themed area.
- Gloomy wood gets redone with duel getting refurbished, a new water ride being installed which could interract with a new vekoma family coaster along the lines of frida (As a reference to RMT/CRR) along with a couple flat rides.
- Mutiny bay and the other half of katanga canyon become part of a new wicker man themed area with a new water coaster (possibly with an inversions as a world first) along with a couple flat rides.

You're not missing to much with sub-terra. It's just basically a vertical drop, then some water vapour blows into your back, then you just leave. Nothing much honestly.
I would buy every property near it,the gardens, and the towers for a ridiculous amount of money.

if i ran alton towers i would retheme spinball wizzer to grandmaster glitch from the go jetters and call it grandmaster glitch's grimbot challenge or grimbot spin and i would move the go jetter vroomster ride to where the octonaughts roller coaster adventure is and move the roller coaster to where the vroomsters sit like a switcharoo and make a new area called go jetters academy like in the show and i would make a new kids area within a kids area
Please bring back ripsaw. I went on a top scan at Finsbury Park fair the other day and it was amazing and I had forgotten how much I loved rameses revenge and ripsaw

The water ride needs the duck
Rita would stay but.... it would have a completely different layout that will just be better and also be much smoother. Also spinball I would just add more theaming and a different name. Then in xsector get rid of all the flat rides there then replace them with a drop tower.
In mutany Bay I would add a flat ride which would be called the wickermans curse. Then in forbidden valley keep nemisis but bring back the red water near the vertical loop. I wouldn't re track it bc it will probably lose its raw. Then galactica if I were to keep that name I would just add a lot more themeing but I would probably change it to air and also in forbidden valley I might add a shop like towers trading so in the closing hour it isn't so busy. And then add a rollercoaster in galactica car park and maybe it might have 16 inversions and a vertical drop and also a launch. Not really anything else except add some more family coasters like the runaway minetrain

Years ago, a creature was found in Mutiny Bay. The creature seemed to be a blue nemesis, with fins on its back, a large gaping mouth and two Amber eyes. It demolised everything in its path. Cyan tentacles wrapped and coiled around trees, half bitten trucks scattered like flies around the beast. You are an army soldier, preparing to take down the beast. Will you survive and be victorious? Or be plunged down into the depths of the sea.
