Great interview! I was a huge fan back in the mid-00. So crazy that it's almost 20 years ago! I saw them in Philly 2006 and it was one of the hottest and funnest concerts I've been to! Really great to hear their story
I love the Pipettes! They really brought back those Doo Wop 60’s vibes, Because it’s Not Love (But it’s Still a Feeling) is my favorite song from them. I really hope Gwenno, Rebecca, and Rose perform again someday.
How good was that? First band I ever saw, and still a go album when you want cheering up. And this year's polkadot LP was a great thing for RSD21. Great insight into what made them, and sad to hear what they had to put up with. Thank you, and thank you Riot Becki!
Awesome interview! Have been her fan since the mid 2000's. Saw one of those great NY Shows she mentions. Also - I marvel at her perfect teeth. The smile is so genuine and you can't help but notice them. Well done!
Such great insight, thanks Becki and @22 Grand Pod. All that was said about The Pussycat Dolls and image reminded me of the awful story of what Brittney Spears has been through - there's bound to be more stories as bad about women in the music business.
i think i was playing in a metal band at the time when i heard them, and i was hooked right away. :D good songs are good songs. Also after watching this whole interview, i feel like a creep now.
This was soooo good! I loved the Pipettes back in the day (and still do). Great interview, I like the way you just let them talk and don't interrupt.

Their music was cool, simply pop and catchy and fun. Very cool

BTW Rebecca Stephens has a doppelganger in Ukraine: ua-cam.com/video/DEAemoE6Xbc/v-deo.html
Joe Meek
The guy behind Telatar. Shadow Morton the producer behind The Shang-Ri-La’s would’ve been another influence.
It all happened organically did it, Riotbecki? I see.
