I fully sympathise with the locals and they should protest to protect their island. I am visiting Palma in September but show respect for the place and culture as always.
In Germany this area of the Playa de Palma is called the 'Ballermann' (related to Balneario 6) and is well known for being an excessive party resort since the 90s. Every few years the government of the Baleares enacts new laws to limit this kind of party tourism. There are often headlines in german media like: 'This is the end of the Ballermann'. But many of these laws are barely enforced and nothing changes. Also they are doing advertising campains in german language like 'party with respect'. But this also doesn't change anything. Two years ago some of the big bars and pubs there, like the Bierkönig and the Mega Park, gave themselves a self-conducted code of conduct. But they seem to have forgotten about this. I like to be there before and after summer. But from May to September it's not my cup of tea.
Awe thank you Alex, yeah Santa Ponsa looks lovely. We watched all your videos and it really looks lovely over there. Your reply helps alot so thank you once again. X
I can’t believe you filmed among all of that. Well done you for letting us see what this area is like. I would have been terrified walking around there. It actually makes me quite embarrassed as a tourist to see scenes like that
We stayed at the Gruphotel Playa de Palma Hotel two weeks ago. The hotel was lovely but going out to the seafront was an eye opener. In my day I have experienced lots of allnight clubbing in Ibiza, Benidorm and done several 'tours' of Magaluf in its hey day. But what I saw at Playa de Palma surpassed all of those. Anywhere close to Mega Park or BierKonig pub was just crazy, never seen anything so packed with so many drunken youngsters. Mostly German and some Dutch. It was like Stag and Hen nirvana, like they all were mesmerisingly drawn from the surrounding hotels and headed over to Mega Park. Hardly saw any police in the vicinity during our stay.
@@patriciaheys7201 I suspect that it generates a huge amount of income which enables the owners to 'persuade' those in power to focus on other things, if you know what I mean. 😬
We have an apartment in s'illot on the east coast and it's nothing like this and wouldn't want it to be. Feel so sorry for the locals there we actually know lots of our locals and get on brilliantly. I'm out on Monday with my granddaughter for 10 days then back 11th September for 5 weeks. Love your videos xxx
Hello Alex, thank you very much for your video. We were in Mallorca for the first time two years ago and were curious to see what the “Ballermann” was like in real life. Simply shameful. We drank a Hugo on the B06, walked along the promenade and then quickly drove back to our hotel. We are in Palmanova for the third time in October and love it there. Especially because there are very few Germans there. You Brits are much more likeable to us. Many kind regards from Hamburg. PS: Sorry for using the translator. My English is not the best 😊
My Son used to go to Magaluf back about 10 years ago and he said it’s fine there in the daytime with a lovely beach. I think I’ll give the area on this video a miss when visiting the Island. We’re staying at Roccamarina in Cala d’Or mid September. My favourite place is Playa de Mura. Keep the videos coming 👏👏👏👏❤️🐸
Looks like hell. Also it brought back raw memories of my and my wife's honeymoon. Not on Mallorca, but on Lanzagrotty. Travel agent told us we were going to a traditional village with a nice little square and a few bars and restaurants. It looked like what you've just showed us. It was the only holiday where I couldn't wait to come home. Your other videos convinced me that the image I had in my head of Mallorca is wrong, that it's actually a delightful place. If I'd found myself in this place I'd probably be put off traveling for life.
Hi Alex, so sad to see what is happening there. I stayed solo at Harbour end last July wasn't too bad during the day. I was back in hotel room after watching the beautiful sunset at 9pm. Last October while staying in Palma nova my sister and I went back to watch sunset at es calo de Sant Antoni.. never again the return bus was packed with rowdy drunks 🙈 I'd be joining the protest if I lived locally too 😢
my partner and i are on our last day in Playa de Palma, been here two weeks and have seen the good and bad of whats on offer in this resort . we were further down away from the Mega Park area , (which is quite rough ) the area we are in is beautiful , fantastic beach and hotel , but this is mostly a German resort and the few times we ventured towards Mega Park was chaotic at best , mostly young people , some vomiting or urinating in a bush in full view of tourists on the promonade , we witnessed this ourselves , to the cheers of his friends , this was approximately 8:30pm, rough Bars with minimal police presence and a glut of illegal street sellers all converging around Mega Park , thankfully we stayed midway on the Playa de Palma stretch and it was fine
Im coming play de palma for a little 6 nights break, to see Christmas lights /train shopping, etc so looking forwards to the Christmas lights, atmosphere, people, everything.
I fully respect and understand the residents reasons to protest. I fully agree with them❤ We are due out Saturday, Sunday I think we will wander over to magaluf out of the way for the day 😄👍 People leaving bottles on the floor is such a disrespectful act, one thing that I dislike seeing. I know people go on holiday to have a good time, nothing wrong with that, but be respectful at the same time 🙏 The guy throwing up on the beach 🙈 Thanks again for the helpful information Alex. ❤
I got back from here last night, and it was exactly as you described, which I was not expecting when I arrived there as a solo female British traveller in the late 30's it was not a nice place to be
Should check out Edinburgh for tourists during August ....cannot move in central Edinburgh. I just avoid the area as much as possible. Costs here are very high too, l think the Majorcans need to just chill a bit. Oh....and the weathers usually rubbish here lol.
Hi Alex my name is Amanda. I'm a subscriber to your channel, we watch every video you post. Even though you say theirs nothing to worry about with these protests we are still worried. We are coming to Santa Ponsa in 2 weeks and we are afraid we won't be welcome. Can you reassure us please. xx
Me and my husband stayed here the end ofJune, we’re a middle aged British couple who had no idea about the resort other than it was near Palma! For anyone coming, this is a German resort and boy do they like to party, bars heaving at 10.00 am and continue all day. The mega park opens in the morning and is always busy, maybe if they opened later in the evening it would help. To be honest we never felt intimidated and there was always a great atmosphere, everyone was there to enjoy themselves, we never saw any trouble. The area is really old and appears to be quite run down, if the Germans stopped coming most of the bars and restaurants couldn’t survive, they certainly know how to spend whether young or old. The appeal is day/nightlife and it it certainly isn’t cheap!!
Hi Alex. Great video. We were there, in that very same location for 7 days in June this year. What you saw was like that every single day for us. Horrible place. Germany by the Sea. We’ve had some great holidays in Majorca but our first visit to Playa de Palma will be our last. The best time of day was mid-morning when the Germans sleep off the night before. At lunchtime. the numbers begin to rise. The noise level begins to rise. By mid afternoon the party is in full swing and continues until the early hours of the next morning. We were regularly woken up by doors slamming as the drunken Germans returned to their rooms. The locals are right to protest.
I hated playa de palma. We got sent there a few years ago as out hotel in cala dor was not ready. Full of morons. We got hassled as soon as they heard our British accent. As forbel arenal.....they need to rip it down and start again. It's a dump. the Germans drink from 10am in both resorts....the bars and restaurants and shops.....owned by locals may I add.....who are to blame for it all happening. That megapark is rhe most horrific eyesore on what is a lovely beach. It's the worst resort I have ever been to.....and I have been to Bangkok....which is cleaner and safer in the streets! But again they are targeting the tourists when they should be speaking to the local business owners....but they lpve the money all this brings in as it's not cheap there at all!
I 100% agree with you. The level of unfair criticism we get as brits is infuriating. It's xenophobia. I will say this there are ALOT of Spanish tourists on the island and also locals whongo to the resorts who aren't well behaved either. Now alot of our youth aren't going it's becoming more obvious. If you look at alex more recent jaunt up maga 'strip' there aren't many brits at all. Alot of the trouble is caused by non brits on and around that strip. I'm quick to say when I don't agree with alex but I will say she jas my support on what she says here. I just wish they would notnuse the tourists as leverage for their polotical agendas. they jave alot of issues but alot is not attributable to the tourists. it's down to Spanish fiscal policies and unethical buainess practice etc.
They clamped down on Magaluf so should also do the same in Playa de Palma. Magaluf is a nice famifriendly resort looking forward to returning next week
I think that Playa de Palma will be more of a challenge. I was there 2 weeks ago. It was horrendous. And the size and shear number of the german and dutch guys would be a handful to sort out, especially with the amount of alchohol being consumed. Mingled in among these were a plague of street traders that day and night wandered endlessly along the beach and into bars and restaurants trying to get you to buy their stuff. Easy pickings for for pickpockets and beach bag thieves too. It kinda felt that it was a no go area for the police, like they had abandoned the area.
@@MallorcaUnderTheSun It hasn't put us off returning to Mallorca, we will choose a better area next time. Your video's of the other parts of the island have been very useful. One of the issues you also recently highlighted has been the heat. During our visit it hit 38 deg C for several days and the humidity even in the shade around the hotel pool was uncomfortable. Thankfully we had accommodation with good air conditioning.
Just returned from Magaluf, our 3rd visit so far this year. There was no sign of any opposition to tourism, everyone we spoke to was fully supportive of the way Magaluf has changed it`s image. There were families with children still playing in the sea at midnight... We`ll be back in October for another week. Love watching along and recognising places and faces. Much love from France x
For me and my girlfriend it will be a second year in Playa de Palma this year. As everything in Mallorca it is good , but there is really a lot of drunk tourists, especially from Germany. It is true that near the end of august and in september number of younger drunk tourist is lower , but it makes a bad picture from a such beautiful island. And yeah if we our early 30's can drink 2-3 drinks per day everyone can. Best wishes from Serbia Alex!
You will be grand. Although let me warn you that about 2 weeks ago I was in palmanova and woman came up to me to say be careful with your belongings, that two men tried to go off with her bag while she was in the sea. She screamed at them and some people intervened so they didn't succeed. Just something to be wary of.
We was there in may and got to say it was amazing and seen a dolphin 🐬 in son Matias,be sensible look after your things like at back home you will be fine enjoy and have a great holiday xx
In your last video the port of Pollensa it was mobbed, you said so yourself! - People have caught on and what was once a quite place now has the hussle n bussle of Alcudia. This is regulated mass migration and everyone will start to disappear before the end of October...normal service will be resumed for the locals. I fully understand because we live in Cornwall and its mobbed right now but it helps our economy in the summer months and the roads will be less busy when the children return to school. Love Majorca, been going there for over 25 years and I really hope the 'Majorcan family island' sort this out for themselves
You were very diplomatic, Alex, when you compared how the Brits are policed Magaluf and how there's general 'low profile' policing here...including the street sellers and 'shell game' con artists. Why is there a different approach from the local authorities .. I wonder? Large brown envelopes perhaps from the owners and operators of establishments along the Ballermann.....🤔 Btw the the " Beach Cocktail Sellers" , you misspelt 'cocktail'...it's "cocaine"..🤫 Phil
I have just returned from el arenal with my 14 year old niece we were staying up near aqualand. the end near the harbour is very nice and we went into son veri which was beautiful we did cycle past the megapark and had a walk past early evening and it wasn't too bad by the time we got on the tourist train back it was packed can understand why the locals are protesting if you are booked to go you can avoid this
Was just thinking. The last time I was in Arenal was 31 years ago when my parents took me for a drink with my baby boy and he us 33 now. They had recently built that tiled walkway and cleaned the place up. We had cocktails and lt was lovely. Calm, peaceful and really beautiful. I will have to dig out the phitos. I am genuinely shocked by What I see is there now. Maybe people who behave badly should be barred from coming back again? More police? Higher prices? Normal tourusts do not want to see this behaviour here either
I bet if it was all Irish and English people in that resort the police would have put a stop to the crap wich is going on, they just seem to be turning a blind eye to the people sitting around drinking and getting sick it's crazy, but well done again for showing what is happening, stay safe, 🤡☘☘☘
I booked a room in a hotel in El Arenal for me and my girlfriend, with the thought that every place away from the airport and Magaluf were less noisey. I hope its not that bad as it looks in this video.
@@nedflanders8317 We stayed in a hotel in Llucmajor 10 minutes away from the beach in a calm area. To much noise and party every night by S'arenal and El Arenal beach, which wasn't the purpose of our vacation. Lots of dutch and deutsch people from the harbor to the last Balneario bar drinking and mostly men. Even most of the waiters wasnt spanish or knew how to speak the language. We were quite unlucky with the weather, so we waited 2,5 hours before flying to Palma, so the weather sucked more than half the days we were there. We were actually joking, that we may had taken the wrong flight, and accidently landed in Germany. Food was a bit interesting, because in almost every restaurant you could order everything from burger, pizza, pasta, tapas, etc... We tried avoiding those places, but it was hard finding restaurantes who were more specialized in a certain dish. And you gotta make sure on the coins you are paying with, as the 2 and 1 euros look very much alike, so we had 2 experiences in which we did not get the correct change back. Lovely beach, but very few toilets from El arenal to Castilla, and so many vendors yelling "SANGRIA!MOJITO!" by the beach, and other vendors selling sunglasses even though we both already had sunglasses on. It was a bit hard to relax to. The massage vendors were actually very polite and came in a calm manner. I am sure that we will never go back to S Arenal and El arenal, as it was not such a relaxed vacation, and did not meet the spanish experience we were expecting. We did like Platja de Castilla, as it was much more calm, and had a very nice beach.
Hi Alex yeah I actually watched this video earlier, it's appalling how they behave over there. And I can see the point in these protests. I actually agree with the locals. It's not fair they have to witness behaviour like that. But we are not all like it. And it makes us look bad.
Thank you sorry my husband and I just saw the bad news on other channels and were a little miss informed but feel a lot better now! Thank you for making awesome informative videos!!
This is so upsetting to see. I fully support the local people and their right to protest, I would be standing there with them today if I was in Mallorca. How do we stop young people travelling on mass and behaving like this? I don't have the answer. I know that here in the UK some holiday brands such as Butlins stopped selling holidays to groups of single sex under 30s. Sadly, if you build huge cheap hotels and allow strips of bars to operate, then this is the result. It also seems that by concentrating policing on one area, the problem just moves on round the coast? When we flew over last October with RyanAir we were joined on the plane by a group of young lads on a stag do. It was 11.30 in the morning and they were all already drunk. They went on to pester the crew and almost brought a halt to our flight due to refusing to remain in their seats during take off. So I spent the flight engaging some of them in conversation hoping that if I kept them occupied we would all manage to get to Palma without more problems. I have a 22 year old son and if I caught him behaving this way in Mallorca I would be taking his passport off him!
Haven't the bar owners got a part to play in this they seem to be making a lot of money from these crowds, booked my first package deal to sa coma only due to the fact it's cheaper than going independent which we have always done in porte de pollenca which we love but hotel prices a so expensive this year, hoping for a nice holiday but fingers very much crossed
I just don't believe this. It must have always been like this. I stayed in Arenal exactly 50 years ago this year and it got the nickname of "Urinal" back then. It was a litter fest and stunk really bad all those years ago. You would have thought that it would have been cleaned up by now and in this day and age. Unbelievable.
I never understood the concept of going to foreign places and expecting the locals there to assume my culture. For me, going on holidays is about immersing yourself in -their- culture, and learning, and having a good time in harmony with the people who live and work at these places. Been learning Spanish for 18-24 months now just so I can get on with locals when I go to Mallorca - for one or two weeks a year 🤣 Spanish culture and language is beautiful though, I wish people had more respect for it!
@@massabarbaweb1361 Catalan is not an option on Duolingo, so I'll just keep doing what Im doing. Thanks When Ive spoken Spanish on previous holidays in Mallorca I have received nothing but praise. Thanks.
@thedavidwilliams you go for it - you don’t have to make excuses for learning Soanish - you can use it throughout Spain as well as Mallorca and South America. And I’m sure many will appreciate you making the effort too. 🤗 There will others will endlessly criticise. Even if you did learn Catalan you would be crisitised for not learning the dialect Mallorquín.
I was there last year and did not go out at night,it was disgusting not against people enjoying themselves but it was way over the top, locals are right but the police need to play there part openly breaking the law needs to be stopped,a have been over since and will stick to Palma Nova from now on back again in September people enjoy themselves with respect
I can understand why local people are protesting and have every sympathy with them. I have booked a week in Mallorca in October, but will certainly be respectful to everyone, as I always am.
My family and i took a stroll on Magaluf strip yesterday around midday, lovely beach, not to busy. The locals have every right not to want their beautiful place of residence to be spoiled. We are currently in Palmanova which we are finding just great. Locals are so friendly and helpful and welcoming. What ever happened to respecting people and where they live.
I'd hate it if someone was filming my peas as well..😂. Seriously Alex, you should be careful. If it isn't family friendly, it shouldn't be allowed to happen..no illegal street sellers, no drinking alcohol in the street, and a pro active police presence at all times... god, I'm getting old.😊
As a brit it doesn't look great. In my opinion the authorities should be way less tolerant. Make the rules for locals to feel safe, not to appease the rowdy culture!!
The litter is shocking. Ive been to Palma/magaluf several times and its quite clean, i dont think I would want to go to play de palma if it looks like this
It's horses for courses but for me personally that place looks like hell. I can completely understand why the local population wants to protest. I cannot wait to come out to Portocolom at the end of September, it's refined, classy and quiet, the complete opposite to that.
I was in Mallorca 2 weeks ago. Fortunatly I didn't see this crazy people around....I was in Palma, Soller, Valdemossa, Alcudia and Portocristo and everything was perfect! I agree with local people to send back all rubish visitors
Hello, thank you for this video. After seeing this in your video, I definitely don't go on holiday to Mallorca when the youth are on holiday from Great Britain and other countries. Way too busy and there's a lot of rubbish on the floor. And they drink from morning until night. I understand that the permanent islanders are angry. I would have a whole platoon of police patrolling there 24 hours a day and immediately put anyone who misbehaves in jail. And all catering establishments must pay more attention to their customers about how much they drink. And perhaps the youth should learn to drink less and, if they drink, to continue to behave.
Years ago there was a petition to the Mayor of Benidorm about the Pea Men in Benidorm! The Main man appeared at the Town Hall and told the Mayor if their not allowed to carry on how can he pay any taxes! like they do.The Pea Men were there in Benidorm back in 1988 when I first visited and are still there now! One time I was on the Beach and one of my children had a whistle and kept blowing it and when they heard it they were looking around and quickly moving off lol. Problem with Tourism in Spain after the crash they had to do anything to encourage the Tourists to still visit. Some resorts were always Fun Places but now they've had enough of them! Time to move onto another cheap destination where they'll happily take the young out for a wild time! I've worked with the Spanish for nearly 28 years within the Travel Market and nothing surprises me with their ideas.
I stayed in a beautiful hotel but out on the streets was mad. We saw fights and loud all day drinking. Fortunately it was just a short break. Would not have wanted to be there for a week. Shame because the beach is beautiful.
Have to say as a tourist I avoid those places so can't blame the locals for being unhappy. Really dislike seeing litter and out of control drunken behaviour on my belived Mallorca. Nothing wrong with havibg a few drinks and partying but....
@@MallorcaUnderTheSun exactly- this is not partying. It is yob behavioir no one wants in their home. I would say put prices up but then that penalizes decent low income families. Not sure what the answer is but it is not right or fair.
I dont think anyone should go to another country and "behave how they want" people should be respectful at the end of the day the countries you visit are peoples home yes have a good time but you can be polite and respectful whilst doing it
Two tier policing don't upset the Germans! I've stayed in Playa De Palma and walked up to where the action goes on and it was MAD! nothing has changed since 2017!
Two tier policing is a phrase used by people that get upset that they're not allowed to say or do whatever they want, while thinking that everyone else is getting away with more than they are. The Germans are far from unique in making fools of themselves abroad. Us Brits have a long record of doing so too. Some places clamp down more than others. Finding one example where there's more Germans than Brits doesn't for one second mean that Germans in general get away with more than the Brits do.
@@anftrew3775but they do....do you think that would be allowed in magaluf? They have turned a blind eye to it for years in playa de palma and arenal.....if you have spent time here over the years you would see it for yourself. it's one police force.....they should be applying the law evenly.....! there was prostitutes on the corner of my hotel when I stayed there.....the police just rode past in their car!!
The Germans must bring a huge amount of money to the resort which is why it’s been allowed to continue, we saw first hand in bars and restaurants even young groups of lad paying hundreds of euros for meals. I don’t think they cause the police much trouble as we didn’t see any bother.

No, it's always like that. Check my content from Spring last year (a video called the " Mallorca's worst resort" or similar, plus my nighttime guide to Playa de Palma. This video isn't even that busy!
This looks like Octoberfest. I feel sorry for the residents. What do the shopkeepers feel about the street sellers, paying no rent or taxes, I would be pretty miffed. Thanks Alex.
It’s the every day sadly. And I’m miffed / I pay a load of tax and social security every month when I could just sell whatever in these cash owner businesses !
If I'm not mistaken this was filmed during the euros and not during the school holidays. Cheap deals plus a major tournament being on will give you these results. Young party people will all go when it's cheaper and if there is a football tournament then this will make it worse. I'm sure all them bar owners and the tax man is very happy with the packed out bars. After every football game I can walk through the popular bars in Manchester and see this every day. Obviously the drunken bad behavior is not acceptable but I feel this is one of the worst case sanarios probably filmed on a day Germany played in the euros.
I'm from Germany and I know the 'Ballermann' (as this area is called by Germans). It looks like this all summer long, no matter if there is a football tournament or not.
We usually avoid all kinds of people & just go out of the hotel/pool area to the beach. Lunch out.even if we have full board. We buy holidays by the cheapest. Recently went to Laganas, which is one of our favourites, usually out of season. But got a cheap deal in a 18/30 hotel. 😆😆😆 We're pensioners.😃 We would always go to Mallorca out of choice but the prices are high & the weather goes & we land up in The Canaries in the winter. Obviously we dont go clubbing but like live pub music. We actually found the 18/30 are better behaved than the "Families". The worst are the 16 yearold girls who get legless in the nightclubs & then cry four two hours at 3am about some emotional disaster. 🤣🤣🤣
That is awful and if I lived there I wouldn’t the tourists there either. Unfortunately it seems some brits will behave like they do in England (which is unfortunate). Respect is a thing that you have or do not. We all get tarred with the same brush unfortunately and it spoils it for all English people. Nobody would want this on their doorstep xxx
Mallorca been busy for years, forty years ago you be drinking all night, recover on beach during day, and start all over again . So locals had enough, no worries go to Benidorm
Mallorca is a beautiful country honestly hate all the rubbish the holiday makers are leaving its tourists like that that make sence why there are protests going on. I cant wait to come to palma for my honeymoon
In the UK at holiday parks they implement a no single sex groups policy and or no under 25s. Not sure how this would work with Mallorca, but when booking hotels/resorts they have all details. If nothing else maybe each resort could have a maximum number of one type of visitor etc. Obviously some resorts are couples only or adults only. Every country has its own issues im sure. In Devon and Cornwall come summer people get annoyed at the holiday makers blocking the lanes etc, and all the second home owners and air bnbs pricing people out. There are entire villages/small towns that almost stand empty due the winter months. The lack of respect is the main issue, the rubbish littered everywhere is sad to see. Again, same mentality here though, those same people will litter the countryside, parks, Dartmoor etc.
I stayed in this area recently and it was the locals I didn't like, try getting on a bus, they push you out of the way and refuse to give their seat to pregnant women and the elderly, very rude people
I'm 💯(% behind the Spanish people it's not right for anyone to come to Spain and buy HOUSES and the beaches I love Spain I Go on holiday every year, we have the same problem in the UK people just keep on coming there is no hospital's school's policeman housing jail's Doctors teachers £8 billion a year so I do understand the UK are with you but I would like to give my money to the Spanish people God bless you all ♥️
Been to can passtila several times going back 15 years lovely place .as for arsenal it's never reported as being rowdy but it is and the behaviour of people down there far worst than magaluff witnessed it myself group's of people mostly Germans drinking all day but its the English who get bad publicity
the locals have every reason to protest, I'm a usual traveller to mallorca, it's getting worse and worse evrey year, enough is enough. Always the same stupid "white socks and sandals"...is disgusting; The good taste is dead
I understand you are searching for contents, but I dont understand why you spread panic? I was In Playa de Palma B10 seven days ago and everyone was friendly and everything was clean and nice. No bottle on streets no people who are against tourist no drunk people. I was spend 15 days crossing good part od Mallorca from Palma to Soller and I have ZERO problem, I was even in a local busses and train. Everyone was nice and friendly. I was even in Palma on 21. july when was protest and I have no problem at all. So pls. Stop spread panic on your channel. Tourist spend good time on Mallorca.
Alex is not spreading panic, she is showing us the reason locals are protesting about the behaviour in that area of Palma . Its best to know what area to avoid when visiting any country .

Definitely - I hope it puts the protests in context
Why don't they close Megapark down?
@@patriciaheys7201 I suspect that it generates a huge amount of income which enables the owners to 'persuade' those in power to focus on other things, if you know what I mean. 😬
We have an apartment in s'illot on the east coast and it's nothing like this and wouldn't want it to be. Feel so sorry for the locals there we actually know lots of our locals and get on brilliantly. I'm out on Monday with my granddaughter for 10 days then back 11th September for 5 weeks. Love your videos xxx

Very interesting. Tourists should show respect for their neighbours. I think I'll stick to Puerto Pollensa. Best wishes, John
I would too John!

I am with the locals on this x
My Son used to go to Magaluf back about 10 years ago and he said it’s fine there in the daytime with a lovely beach. I think I’ll give the area on this video a miss when visiting the Island. We’re staying at Roccamarina in Cala d’Or mid September. My favourite place is Playa de Mura. Keep the videos coming 👏👏👏👏❤️🐸
My wife and I stayed at the Rocamarina in June really enjoyed our stay. We have been going for years. Wish we were going back in September. Enjoy.
Great content Alex no wonder the locals are demonstrating ,
Looks like hell.
Last October while staying in Palma nova my sister and I went back to watch sunset at es calo de Sant Antoni.. never again the return bus was packed with rowdy drunks 🙈 I'd be joining the protest if I lived locally too 😢
It's such a shame. The harbour side isn't like this but the problem now spills into other areas of the Playa de Palma.
my partner and i are on our last day in Playa de Palma, been here two weeks and have seen the good and bad of whats on offer in this resort . we were further down away from the Mega Park area , (which is quite rough ) the area we are in is beautiful , fantastic beach and hotel , but this is mostly a German resort and the few times we ventured towards Mega Park was chaotic at best , mostly young people , some vomiting or urinating in a bush in full view of tourists on the promonade , we witnessed this ourselves , to the cheers of his friends , this was approximately 8:30pm, rough Bars with minimal police presence and a glut of illegal street sellers all converging around Mega Park , thankfully we stayed midway on the Playa de Palma stretch and it was fine
Lover your video's. Respect for locals X
Im coming play de palma for a little 6 nights break, to see Christmas lights /train shopping, etc so looking forwards to the Christmas lights, atmosphere, people, everything.
I fully respect and understand the residents reasons to protest.
I fully agree with them❤
We are due out Saturday, Sunday I think we will wander over to magaluf out of the way for the day 😄👍
People leaving bottles on the floor is such a disrespectful act, one thing that I dislike seeing.
I know people go on holiday to have a good time, nothing wrong with that, but be respectful at the same time 🙏
The guy throwing up on the beach 🙈
Thanks again for the helpful information Alex.
Can you reassure us please. xx
Having in count that protesters are just a very few of all amount locals, no need to worry about.
Same in the canaries.........
Amanda, please don't worry... any protesting has been peaceful and it won't be coming to Santa Ponsa. Santa Ponsa is a very different resort.
@Manuel! Hola! You're back! Thanks for commenting!
@@MallorcaUnderTheSun im back always support my Alex!!
Thank you for this great insight to the resort!
Thank You so much, this video was awsome, hilarious hiding and filming them guys hustling fair play so funny 🤣😂
LOL, thank you so much... It was fun making this, but my goodness he made me jump!
That sounds awful 😢 I’m really sorry to hear
Agreed
Last time I was in El Arenal was 1972, looks like my worst nightmare now.
@fivecylinderperfection5060 This is exactly what I feel too. :(
@@MallorcaUnderTheSun It hasn't put us off returning to Mallorca, we will choose a better area next time.
Thanks so much George, and you are right, Magaluf has changed so much!
Yep, that was very grim!
Thanks Serbia Alex!
Nothing but respect for Mallorca and the locals. ❤
I will be in parmanova from Tuesday and I hope that I will be able to enjoy my holiday without any protest taking place
@malcolmarkell2135 You will. I would be more worried about coming to the UK to be honest...
Wow Jackie amazing!
Great video thank you Alex i don't blame the locals thats terrible
You were very diplomatic, Alex, when you compared how the Brits are policed Magaluf and how there's general 'low profile' policing here...including the street sellers and 'shell game' con artists.
Why is there a different approach from the local authorities .. I wonder?
Large brown envelopes perhaps from the owners and operators of establishments along the Ballermann.....🤔
Btw the the " Beach Cocktail Sellers" , you misspelt 'cocktail'...it's "cocaine"..🤫

I have just returned from el arenal with my 14 year old niece we were staying up near aqualand. the end near the harbour is very nice and we went into son veri which was beautiful we did cycle past the megapark and had a walk past early evening and it wasn't too bad by the time we got on the tourist train back it was packed can understand why the locals are protesting if you are booked to go you can avoid this
Lovely to hear you had a nice time, and glad to hear you were harbourside!
Brilliant video showing exactly what locals have to put up with police need to patrol more .
Thank you
Thanks for the info
This is appalling. I fully understand how upsetting it must be for the locals; I would hate to live amongst that.
Hello Alex coming over in September can you give me daily temperatures and night watch your very informative
Video coming out soon!
Exactly! It has changed so much!
Mallorca is beautiful, classy and cultral. This kind of tourism has ro be stopped. X
I bet if it was all Irish and English people in that resort the police would have put a stop to the crap wich is going on, they just seem to be turning a blind eye to the people sitting around drinking and getting sick it's crazy, but well done again for showing what is happening, stay safe, 🤡☘☘☘
It is completely bizzare!
I booked a room in a hotel in El Arenal for me and my girlfriend, with the thought that every place away from the airport and Magaluf were less noisey. I hope its not that bad as it looks in this video.
Not all of Arenal is like this
Which hotel did you book?
We know! This isn't an anti tourist video, but this is allowed to happen in this one resort...
We will be arriving at the airport on Sunday should we be worried?
About what ? At the airport ?? No ! Please watch my previous videos about this
Thank you sorry my husband and I just saw the bad news on other channels and were a little miss informed but feel a lot better now!
Been learning Spanish for 18-24 months now just so I can get on with locals when I go to Mallorca - for one or two weeks a year 🤣
Spanish culture and language is beautiful though, I wish people had more respect for it!
the locals speak "catalàn" the spanish is not our lenguage, thanks.
@@massabarbaweb1361 Catalan is not an option on Duolingo, so I'll just keep doing what Im doing. Thanks

I am come over end September
Exactly!
I'd hate it if someone was filming my peas as well..😂. Seriously Alex, you should be careful. If it isn't family friendly, it shouldn't be allowed to happen..no illegal street sellers, no drinking alcohol in the street, and a pro active police presence at all times... god, I'm getting old.😊
😂
As a brit it doesn't look great. In my opinion the authorities should be way less tolerant. Make the rules for locals to feel safe, not to appease the rowdy culture!!
The litter is shocking. Ive been to Palma/magaluf several times and its quite clean, i dont think I would want to go to play de palma if it looks like this
after the buget in nov in britain we wont have any money left to go to the local beach never mind a holiday to spain
:(
I love Mallorca but have never been to Arenal. If thats the state of the people its no wonder the locals are not happy.
Dropping and leaving litter is really unacceptable. Absolutely no excuse. ☹️
This isn’t representative of the whole island lol
Great comment!! And pretty sure these guys don't pay taxes lol!
I stayed in a beautiful hotel but out on the streets was mad. We saw fights and loud all day drinking. Fortunately it was just a short break. Would not have wanted to be there for a week. Shame because the beach is beautiful.
We have always had a fab holiday in Palma nova big police presence there which is good, the police should be there too.
Have to say as a tourist I avoid those places so can't blame the locals for being unhappy. Really dislike seeing litter and out of control drunken behaviour on my belived Mallorca.
Nothing wrong with havibg a few drinks and partying but....
Exactly. Noone's against partying, but this is too much.
@@MallorcaUnderTheSun exactly- this is not partying. It is yob behavioir no one wants in their home.
I would say put prices up but then that penalizes decent low income families.
Not sure what the answer is but it is not right or fair.
This is shocking 😲 we are staying in can pistilla thankfully much quieter! Where are the police!!
I dont think anyone should go to another country and "behave how they want" people should be respectful at the end of the day the countries you visit are peoples home yes have a good time but you can be polite and respectful whilst doing it
THIS - 100%. I wish everyone thought this!

It's just disrespectful to act like that.I always try to be an ambassador for my country,i still enjoy myself aswell
Not great that’s for sure , but you do realise in your video that Germany where playing in the euros hence the oversized crowd that day
No, it's always like that. Check my content from Spring last year (a video called the " Mallorca's worst resort" or similar, plus my nighttime guide to Playa de Palma. This video isn't even that busy!
If I were there I’d be joining the protesters who deserve better. Playa de Palma has been allowed to be totally spoilt Alex ☀️
That Beach Front was horrid Alex. Contact the Cleaning Department and have a word.
As Ned says, it is like this all the time. Please see my previous content
Very big german beer large tents......
The British will have to pull their socks up, getting out done by the Germans😀
That is awful and if I lived there I wouldn’t the tourists there either. Unfortunately it seems some brits will behave like they do in England (which is unfortunate). Respect is a thing that you have or do not. We all get tarred with the same brush unfortunately and it spoils it for all English people. Nobody would want this on their doorstep xxx
this is a German resort, yes there are a few British tourists but I found them mostly in their 50s onwards and very respectful of their surroundings .
Oh wow Kim! Great destination to spend your honeymoon!
It’s like a beach ghetto
I don’t blame the locals and fully support them, this type of tourism isn’t good for anyone .
That video made me so sad, such lack of respect for your beautiful island is awful.
I can’t see this ever happening here sadly
I stayed in this area recently and it was the locals I didn't like, try getting on a bus, they push you out of the way and refuse to give their seat to pregnant women and the elderly, very rude people
Locals are fat up! And I don’t blame them! Tourists need to show respect! We are well travelled drunks all over theplace
Wow and the Brits get the bad press? Its unrecognisable from the Mallorca I know.
That guy has no authority to come over and tell you not to film. Don't submit to them. It's broad daylight, they won't do a thing.
It was super scary though. Totally surprised me!
terrible conditions for the locals to have to put up with, feel sorry for them, start with a ban on street drinking
There already exists a law to prohibit street drinking!
I'm 💯(% behind the Spanish people it's not right for anyone to come to Spain and buy HOUSES and the beaches I love Spain I Go on holiday every year, we have the same problem in the UK people just keep on coming there is no hospital's school's policeman housing jail's Doctors teachers £8 billion a year so I do understand the UK are with you but I would like to give my money to the Spanish people God bless you all ♥️
Did you see the video of Barcelona protesters ☀️😎 love your videos ☀️😎
Yes I did !
Show respect damned tourists!
Been to can passtila several times going back 15 years lovely place .as for arsenal it's never reported as being rowdy but it is and the behaviour of people down there far worst than magaluff witnessed it myself group's of people mostly Germans drinking all day but its the English who get bad publicity
I'm with any way of stopping this behaviour. It's my idea of hell.
Wow, this was like looking at a different island. Why no police? Shame you got caught with your covert filming. 🤣
It honestly think it's unpoliceable.
the locals have every reason to protest, I'm a usual traveller to mallorca, it's getting worse and worse evrey year, enough is enough. Always the same stupid "white socks and sandals"...is disgusting; The good taste is dead
Maybe If more litter bins 🚮 were available there wouldn’t be so much litter on the streets .
there are loads of litter bins this year... more than previous years.
The 'party zone' is the area between B5 and B8. Outside this area the Playa de Palma is a normal vacation resort.
Alex is not spreading panic, she is showing us the reason locals are protesting about the behaviour in that area of Palma . Its best to know what area to avoid when visiting any country .
Thanks George and Ned.
@perazdera5639 as the guys above have said.
SO, it looks a right dump, best avoided. A bit of litter, illegal street sellers, a few drunkards - all easily avoided - go somewhere else.
