Hi, I want to take the opportunity to express how deeply impressed I am by all your musical performances. Actually it is your music that made me just jump into eurorack - which - when trying to make this system sound good - opened my eyes even more about your skills and talent. You are a source of inspiration - thanks for sharing your music with us!
@@stateazure i second what Collin is saying... your music and the incredible community you/we have has led me to find so many great little channels... also you just cost me a fortune in audiophile quality speakers haha (money i saved by not having a holiday lol ) but saved my sanity during the last 2 years of this crazy lockdown... so im now back working full time, have everything i need, even found a girlfriend lol, only one thing left to do and that is to learn how to modular synthesise and buy myself some gear.. next year after winter.. so any tips on which gear to start with will be very appreciated... oh and do you have any vinyl's coming in the future?
I agree with Collin; SA's magical music and sound is the trigger that pulled me into Modular finally, and this has been the most delightful, creative evolution of my own musical career in decades. Thank you doesn't come close to my level of appreciation :-)
So frosty clear night sky vibes...is -19c now in finland and your music was like east wind frothing thru the sleeping pine forest. Thank you for this good mood moment.
I second that. State Azure IS the best ....... as far as I'm concerned ....... musician, so far as I've seen / heard, ever, in this medium........ tech music. 😎
@Collin Ember said it all , Thank you very much indeed " @State Azure whoever it is behind those soundscapes that are so deep that are almost somehow tangible.
Im so inspired by your music. I am very happy that I found your channel and I shall listen to it always as its breathtaking. Thank you for giving us your wonderful talent.
as always waiting for have this in HQ in bandcamp, what amazed me is that the quality of your music never drops, i purchased "To a distant world" in bandcamp which is a trully masterpiece... at the level of Blade Runner and albedo 0.39 by Vangelis and oxygene by JMJ... i have been listening to it one time after another this weekend... , long time since i have enjoyed an album that much... listened with a very good pair of speakers and direct sounded is like being in a journey with Carl Sagan in his Cosmos white Vessel (ship)
Thanx again your music inspire me, but also it helps me so much to relax, meditation state, falling asleep.... In italy there are hard times, and often we are under stress.... Thanx to share your music and video
I have been listening to this track often as I drive home from work in Australia - can I ask is the choir sound from the wave station or another synth?
Your music is by far the most interesting, and moving, ambient music I've ever heard. I'm quite intrigued by your workflow; it's both ambiguous and mysterious.
Beautiful soundscapes, so emotional, love the crisp cascading fx. So, out of the OT into both pedals and record? all sounds being affected? no use of cue? if so, this is simple and so effective, need to learn from you how less is more. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Marco. No cue used, just main outs to Big Sky and Capistan, but very subtle as there is already some reverb baked into the sample loops. Tracks 7 and 8 are copies of earlier tracks, 7 is the piano again but pitched up an octave which I bring in just now and again to add those high sprinkles. It's a real basic setup!
I wish I was smart, patient and skilled enough to produce even a quarter of what you do. It's like magic to me. You finger a few boxes and good noise comes out. Great stuff like always.
I started mixing ambient with an Eventide H9Max and Boss GT-1000 Core and the rich reverb, spacious delays, and so forth add so much dimension and depth to the sounds. As always, impressed what you're doing with the Oktatrack. Are you looping the track(s) here and adding effects. I'm asking because doesn't the Octatrack have a severe limitation with the sample size? Already have a lot of your tracks (on Funk Lab Records). I'm going through your back catalogue on Beatport... and I'm just blown away. Going to be making a huge purchase soon.
Hey C B...I did replace the Mackie in my setup with the Bluebox and it works very well. I use a Novation Launch Control XL linked via midi to the Bluebox for faders, aux sends and panning. I have outboard Strymon effects on the two aux sends. I had no problems and it was a painless switch...and you get track-by-track recording without a computer in the bargain. You will need to be careful with cable routing and power management to avoid ground loop noise and I did have to incorporate a Pyle noise canceler on one of the aux send loops to kill some noise issues. All together, it's a great solution and is a quarter the size of my old arrangement.
The samples are looped and just continue to run without any sequencer/start points or syncing...The Octatrack is barely doing much when using it this way, but sometimes it's just fun to mix the various free running loops together.
Amazing work as always! I was looking into the Blue Box and saw it only records at 48khz. Do you normally record in the DAW at the same sample rate and then down sample for the album releases?

I'm hoping the Octatrack 3 will have a huge reverb and tape delay inside.

Great! Especially that this is single unit performance. Octatrack is still it's own class

Amazing work, again and again! Thank you!
Just what I needed after a hard day at work. So relaxing and captivating. Brilliant work sir!
Thank you for making the world disappear for an all-too-brief 15 minutes. Another beautiful work of sonic art.
Another wonderful composition! Thanks for sharing! Most enjoyable!

Man, I love your ambient soundscapes. More of this, please! Also I'd love a walkthrough showing how you build soundscapes like this one.
Wonderful! :)
And we've got another winner, folks! Nice bit of music.
Gotta admit, when I first saw the title I thought, "Wait, he's doing a Kansas cover?" :D
Fantastic as always!
Thanks man, really appreciate it! Your channel is great, keep it up!
beautiful
awesomeness

Stunning!
Sir you are great
Beautiful!
Another gorgeous sounding track. You also always have a knack of creating a great video to go along with it…
Are you the new solar fields? 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Superb as usual
Excellent talent
I Love this soooo very much ❤
A little? haha Big sound for dreamers! :) Thanks for creating man
Amazing music and sound !
lovely
I love that you use a wider aspect ratio on your videos, they look awesome on my 34 inch ultrawide monitor! They sound pretty damn sweet too :)
Thank you, glad you appreciate the videos too :)
This is fine.
thoughts on bluebox to replace a traditional mixer?
I really couldn't say, I've just been using it for recording a single stereo input so far

Sounds very nice indeed. What do you mean by "free running samples"? I don't have an Octatrack but have been eyeing them for a while.
The samples are looped and just continue to run without any sequencer/start points or syncing...The Octatrack is barely doing much when using it this way, but sometimes it's just fun to mix the various free running loops together.
Magnificent…
thankyou ::: :
Amazing work as always! I was looking into the Blue Box and saw it only records at 48khz. Do you normally record in the DAW at the same sample rate and then down sample for the album releases?
Yes, I usually record at 48khz 32bit and render to 44/16, so the Blue Box is fine for me.
very beautiful music I like a lot thank you for sharing
So who's playing the actual musical instruments?
Me. The loops are pre-recorded.
