Glenda, Happy Mother’s Day. I don’t know why, but seeing you do all of this while pregnant makes me emotional. You are so strong, determined, and smart. It’s fantastic how much you’ve accomplished. Yoooo Glenda!!! It was a welcomed treat to see you & Super Papi working together. Even with a bun in the oven you're still in BEASTMODE!!! Respect!!! As far as the stud framing don't listen to anyone!!! Make it happen best way you can focusing on eliminating any flexing in the wall to help minimize grout line cracking. It's an interior wall & not load bearing. Hoping all is well guys, Dirty Jersey out!!!

Rooting for you to get this done on time. We all know babies have a timeline of their own 😂. And growing a baby is hard work, so slowing down is very reasonable.

I did my shower 12 yrs ago and uses drywall and Kerdi membrane, and no problems what so ever. Great choice

Interesting there wasn't any insulation behind the tub surround but some houses just didn't do it. The house I have, 1945, didn't have any in the exterior walls when we gutted a bathroom to redo it. I had insulation put in all the walls, exterior and the interior one for sound proofing to the adjacent room. I was surprised you didn't put any insulation in the exterior wall and wondering why you chose not to?

Good effort as always Glenda.
Nothing wrong with using the correct type of drywall in wet areas.
I tend to use 'fibro' because it is stronger with tiles over it.
In Australia we use glue as well as screws on our drywall. I've never been able to figure out why Americans don't use it as well, on walls.

I think as long as that wall where the niche is, not a supporting wall then your probably fine with your stud work.😂 I’m glad you explained the green board with kerdi. I was definitely wondering. I’ve used cement board in wet area with the green board above and in the rest of the bathroom. Seemed to work out fine.
