G.V., This post saved me a whole-bunch of Misery, Heart-ache and Strife. My Ceramic Antenna Patch was Not cracked, but the GPS did not function, so I assumed that the entire module was bad. Replacing that would cost me $157. I figured for $4.61, your recommendation was at least worth a try. I ordered the part from the link you provided. It arrived in just two days and I followed your installation directions. I took it outside 10 minutes ago and fired it up. 8 Satellites registered! You were the first person I wanted to share this with. Thank you my friend - This was greatly appreciated.
I crashed mine. Unable to receive any (zero) satellites. Found this video, bought the chip, followed the video step by step and it has worked perfectly. Thank you very much. Joe O'Malley
The fix went GREAT! I followed your video and ordered 2 of the ceramic antennas. The cheapest I saw new GPS for was $99 and used (not a fan) for $60. With shipping and tax 2 of these were $13.02, how could I go wrong. I removed the old cracked one and put the new one in, assembled the drone and wound up with 8 satellites minimum. Thanks for posting this video.
Yes, I tried the screwdriver with the green handle but the screw is way too tight. I'll try again. Replacing the top shell seemed so easy. I've already had problems with one stripped screw by the motors. Thanks for replying.
Never mind the question I just asked. I realize now its the same patch. You gave the Digi-Key part number and they gave the manufacture part number. Thanks for the video, my new antenna will be here Saturday.
So you received and installed the new antenna patch? How is it working for you? Did you get more GPS Sat locks? I got a P2V+ a month ago and out of the box 7 to 11 sat locks. I had a minor issue with a landing and now I struggle to get minimum 6 sat locks. Checked the antenna patch and it's not broken or cracked but this is crazy. Any feedback is welcomed.
Gilbert Varela Yes I did check and doesn't appear to be cracked or damage on the surface. I may just purchase the DigiKey patch give it a try. Also, switching out of NAZA mode back to Phantom and see if that does anything.
Hi, I have a CX20 and buy him a new apm, but there is a problem when I get back home or the autopilot does not work and the stability of GPS, altitude hold does not work, if the engine runs the radio control also works as calibrate the drone and the station or radio control but remains, in mission planner says I connect but the down side 3D GPS fix, you have to do as your video or buy a new GPS
Thanks for the info, someone else on Phantom Pilots.com also bought an antenna from digikey but the part # was GP.1575.25.2.A.02, manufactured by Taoglas. Do you know the difference? Thanks
+Mike217J I just search the part # mentioned int he video it is indeed the " GP.1575.25.2.A.02" This is simply the manufacturer # but is part # 931-1016-ND on digikey..
Think I could get some 1 on 1 help with this? I don't have a cracked ceramic antenna, I purchased a new updated compass, and yet the Naza-M program is not even showing that GPS functions are available. It only allows ATTI modes and says "GPS Needed". Completely lost as to what to do next.
Hey guys, can u help me? I replaced my broken GPS antena with this type: Rcirocomm 0093. But there is no signal after all. Can you suggest me another options please or am I doing something wrong? Thank you.
Hi, I have a phantom 3 standard, it works and everything but on the GPS doesn't show up the map, it shows up all white, and I can see where the drone is and wish way is pointing but I can't see the streets on the map cos is all white, WHAT SHOULD I DO ?
What size screwdriver did you use to unscrew the GPS unit from the shell? I've tried all sizes and they're so difficult. I'm afraid to strip the screws.
My issue is not related to GPS satellite, but rather I constantly get "weak transmission" or "no transmission signal". I spend 60% of my time flying trying to find a stable channel so i can see the transmission. Do you think this is related to the antenna? Will this antenna upgrade fix my issues?
Hello, the antenna will not fix your issue. But for 15.00 bucks you can purchase a range extender. You can find them on Amazon. They look like half cylinders with copper lining inside of them.
Switch on GPS and I seem to get GPS lock. Going to try again and this time let drone hover in one spot for a couple of minutes. On the 1.1.1 the antenna wire that are connected to legs has a bend in one. Wondering if that is effecting my controls. Understand from from your excellent video that the GPS antenna can get cracked.
Phantom 1.1.1 - One of my antenna has a slight bend in at the tip. Could that effect my control. My drone is drifting and hard to control after I rotate. Hovers fine after initial take off.
Tried this repair but no luck getting mine to work. I did see that the ceramic antenna was cracked. when I removed the old antenna, I had to use needle-nose pliers in order remove the remnant of the antenna pin. After I was done, I could look through the hole and see light. I installed a brand new antenna, without the twisting motion, and soldered on the other side, but it's not clear what I'm soldering to. still getting no GPS, I must be close, but like I said, not sure what that pin actually connects to.
I guess not, and that's my question. Could you see through the GPS board hole to see light? Once I pushed the new antenna pin through and it was held in place by the glue backing, I couldn't really see where the pin soldered to.
Gilbert Varela I have a lead free solder that is cheapy. I will pick up better solder and see if that does it. Still, where the pin has pushed through, I don't see clearly where the solder is connecting from the pin to what.
Gilbert Varela, I did what you said to do and when installed the patch it makes the phantom beep. It just beeps and I do not know what to do. Please help...
I watched the video again and I noticed that you got the GPS model number 931-1026-ND and I purchased the 931-1126-ND. Not sure if it makes a big difference but the one I got is thicker then the one that came on the board. That might be an issue. Some guy commented on your video with those numbers and I thought they were it so I bought them.
I bought a new patch and a new module. Hopefully that is it and the patch will work because it is only five dollars. if it does not work I have the whole module. Everything was working perfect up until the took the ceramic patch off.
I crashed mine. Unable to receive any (zero) satellites. Found this video, bought the chip, followed the video step by step but not work properly. only 2 led blink ... how i was know i do all ri8 plz help..
hey i have a phantom 1 and soo it catches gps like it blinks green but when i take off there's no gps lock at all nothing will this fix it or there's something else wrong

awesome!
Thank you, it's tips like this that help keep quite a few of us in the air

Scott Shiffert When your in the air does it still only lock on the 6 SATs?
Gilbert Varela In FPV flight P2V+ varies from 6 to 5 to 4 to 5 to 4 randomly while recording and not. I checked the K-Index
Do you inspect your antenna patch?
Gilbert Varela Yes I did check and doesn't appear to be cracked or damage on the surface. I may just purchase the DigiKey patch give it a try. Also, switching out of NAZA mode back to Phantom and see if that does anything.

Excellent! Now do you have a $5 fix for the $700 gimbal and camera that I also smashed when I crashed my vision 2 + today? :)

Good Afternoon,I wish to know can this ceramic gps patch used on my wltoys v303,?ThanksAlex

joakobmarley did you solved this issue? Having the same problem

Sharee Meyers i used the one that came with the phantom.

Hello, the antenna will not fix your issue. But for 15.00 bucks you can purchase a range extender. You can find them on Amazon. They look like half cylinders with copper lining inside of them.
Gilbert Varela tried those too. They haven't helped either. I honestly don't know what to do!
Maybe your reciever is bad. Do you have a all in one set up with screen and antenna?
Will the GPS being broken stop your engines from turning on too?
Switch on GPS and I seem to get GPS lock. Going to try again and this time let drone hover in one spot for a couple of minutes. On the 1.1.1 the antenna wire that are connected to legs has a bend in one. Wondering if that is effecting my controls. Understand from from your excellent video that the GPS antenna can get cracked.
Edward Homer make sure your take off platform is not metal, and let it sit on the ground until you get SAT lock.
Phantom 1.1.1 - One of my antenna has a slight bend in at the tip. Could that effect my control. My drone is drifting and hard to control after I rotate. Hovers fine after initial take off.
Make sure you have the switch on GPS on your remote control. If it has cracks on your antenna it needs to be replaced.
Same procedure for Phantom 1.1.1? Different part no. I assume. cheers. Good video.
sorry this will work also with dji phantom 3 standard?
where did you buy it please? it also fits on DJI Phantom 1? Thank You!!!
Tomáš Czinty Czintel www.digikey.com and yes it will work on phantom 1
Just went on to that website.
Put in the numbers and got this message. No records match your search criteria
Anyone know where I can get one.
mine gps antenna looks fine....ima replace it anyway and see if it helps!
Hi, I tried it, didn't have a cracked antenna but still changed it, no satellites still😥
Hey what causes the phantom to turn on and just blink yellow lights without going any further..would that be the reciever board
Sounds like its not communicating with your remote
Dude you are freaking awesome!!! Thanks for the video!!!!
Jared Campbell glad the video helped!

David Alyea perhaps you didnt soldered correctly.
I guess not, and that's my question. Could you see through the GPS board hole to see light? Once I pushed the new antenna pin through and it was held in place by the glue backing, I couldn't really see where the pin soldered to.
David Alyea yes i saw light through the hole. but you might not have good connection.
Gilbert Varela I have a lead free solder that is cheapy. I will pick up better solder and see if that does it. Still, where the pin has pushed through, I don't see clearly where the solder is connecting from the pin to what.
David Alyea the board has thin wired surrounding the hole. the solder will help make connection.
Gilbert Varela, I did what you said to do and when installed the patch it makes the phantom beep. It just beeps and I do not know what to do. Please help...

Hey man did you figure it out?
Phong Nguyen the patch I use is the one shown. If you order the same patch as me and fixes the problem please let us all know.
Yes i hope i get a response anyway to test the gps antena
You are bloody marvellous ... hope!!
Did you get more satellites or less with this new part?
Seem to give me satellite signal just as quick as the previous patch.
It is normal if the GPS antenna is damaged not allow you to fly? does not allow me encerder engines , turns on and off 5 times the red light
+Luis Navarrete Cant fly at all if wire is disconnected check that first. or if your in a no fly zone
Are there better part we could use from digi key?
Look below someone gave a part number for a bigger patch
I crashed mine. Unable to receive any (zero) satellites. Found this video, bought the chip, followed the video step by step
but not work properly. only 2 led blink ... how i was know i do all ri8 plz help..
make sure the chip has good connection to the board
+Gilbert Varela ya i try to re shoulder... can any other opinion tu check. my gps module. is work..?

Great Fix!! Thanks for this....
What about the Inspire 1? I have this problem when we crashed the inspire 1
Jade Currier I'm not sure in the inspire 1! However you may want to check for the same set up.
Yes, it's the same thing. We found the parts but haven't found a video on how to fix it yet. Thank you.
Jade Currier make sure to inspect the antenna to see if its cracked
Thanks for the info .
Thanks for your video
Your welcome! Hoped it helped you.
Fantastic !!!
