Imagine you are in a dogfight and lose. You head back to your air port and think you're safe. And suddenly this madlad appears out of the blue sky and annihaltes your aircraft. And then he has the balls to land on the exact same airport and continues to diss you from his pilot seat. Strongest. Possible. Flex.
More of a flex on the base's AA defense than on the defeated pilot, honestly.

This is like a scene out of a movie
Four su 27s (after expanding all their ordnance in a critical mission) find an a10 near their base and, due to previous damage and destruction of most of their AA, decide to destroy this solitary craft. An easy mission for some of the best fighter jets in the world...
if only they had only known how LITTLE amount of shits the a10's pilot gave!
A great scene for this movie would be a recreation of an Old world war II story of the a-10's predecessor the the original thunderbolt: a relatively new thunderbolt pilot "faced off" against one of Germany's top aces, the focke-wulf fw 190 pilot riddled the thunderbolt repeatedly, each time he completed a burst he would pull alongside the pilot look him over shake his head and disbelief and wave to the pilot before pulling away and moving back behind him to fire again. He did this three times, the final time he simply shook his head waggled his wings and flew away.
When the thunderbolt pilot got back to base he counted the number of bullet holes on his aircraft, he stopped counting after reaching 200 without moving more than a foot.
(I say faced off in quotation marks because he was flying in a straight line after having already been hit by high explosive rounds from another fw 190 losing control temporarily and falling about 10,000 ft.)
If only I had been there, that A-10 would be splashed before we would engage for atleast 10 seconds

The Roog Vs Dak?
I always thought it could be a big mistake to play with Hogs. You used the planes strengths wisely. Adopted your tactics to situation and the A-10 kept fighting with its foot chewed off. That's all you can do. Well done.

Reminds me of my playthrough of AC7. Got a weird thing where I play Warthog only. That maneuverability helps when you are trying *not* to scrape your wings on the Elevator walls.

Ive done actual DACT with Hogs flying Vipers out of Davis Monthan AFB in Tucson. It was fun and easy to fight them if you knew what to do against that airframe. Its not a dogfighting machine, was never built for it, and it has serious limitations, but if you aren’t paying attention and get drawn in to where you shouldn’t be , you can shot too. We used to call it “Hog Popping”.
The issue you keep running into is your lack of awareness and that you keep giving up the fight too early. Several times you leveled out allowing the enemy to strafe you. The A10 can out turn a Flanker even with thrust vectoring. With missiles it's worse for the Flankers since low ground means top down radar shots are difficult to hard while heat seekers also struggle with the hot ground. Just keep rate fighting and all they can do is try to get into a boom and zoom strike only to be thrawted. If they try to out turn you, you win. If you have missiles you just rate them until they try to disengage vertically and shoot them in the butt with an AIM-9.
A10's are deceptively good at air to air if you stay close to the ground. It's only at altitude where missiles have a chance.

My friend I encourage you to get TrackIr! I know the $175 Usd pricetag is not exactly encouraging but the use is unrivaled especially in the A-10 where you need to look at the ground and the air a lot. Great video and I hope you keep up the good work!

I’m asking out of ignorance, NOT to imply criticism: at about 7:45; I can’t see your airspeed, but my instinct there would have been to proceed as if I were about to do a loop, or an Immelmann, and as I rotated toward the vertical, it would be the angular displacement that was bringing him toward my cross hairs, from top to bottom from MY perspective, and very, very, rapidly at that, but retaining some degree of horizontal lead, because he’s also still going to be crossing from right to left, and I would need to start a burst while he’s still well above my gunsight, but simultaneously hold a right rudder into him, releasing back pressure as my tracers reached his flight path, and just try to throw as many rounds out in front of him as I could, or more accurately, make it so he was going to fly across and through a stream of depleted uranium coming from below and to his left. That was difficult to describe, and makes it sound way more complex than it is … I hope that made sense. As I said, that was my instinct as I watched the video, and I’m curious to hear if anyone thinks that might be an effective tactic. My other question has to do with (probably) the sim software itself, which I know absolutely NOTHING about; at 10:10, and 10:26, even in bright daylight, I thought a stream of tracers would be more visible (and more gratifying, of course) than what was visible on my ipad screen … I could clearly see muzzle smoke/gasses, and rounds impacting the other aircraft, and I could hear the distinctive low-pitched chainsaw sound of the gun, but no muzzle flash, and no tracer stream. Is that a setting that has to be enabled or adjusted, or is it just some code that hasn’t been written or included? It would obviously increase the demand on the graphics chip, cache, RAM, etc., and I know that used to be an issue back in the day, (such that I had to buy and install a graphics card and some bigger RAM cards on the windows desktop so my sons could play “Mechwarrior” without it looking like a herky-jerky Hannah-Barbera cartoon. LOL .. yep, we’re THAT old … LOL).
Anyway, great video, great pilotage - thanks for your time and effort… interesting scenario too! Confirmed some suspicions I had.

Truth be told that is about what I'd expect from an A-10. Not sure what would happen if the bad guys had used missiles but in a gun fight then I'd bet on the A-10 every single time.

I grew very fond of the A-10 in my youth thanks to a game called "A-10 Cuba!" :-P There i ended up developing a strategy that did work against other players too in a different game (IL-2 Sturmovik, no A-10:s there but the same trick worked). I'm curious as to how dumb this sounds to an actual pilot;
When being tailed by an F-16 (or any plane really), i'd see to it i had the right altitude, let go of the throttle, do an aileron spin with the elevator pulled to lose speed fast to something the landing flaps wouldn't break from, then turn the flaps on fully while turning upside down and doing a 180 turn under myself by pulling the stick.. more often than not the tailing plane would try to follow only to smack straight down into the ground. You think that would work in real life?

As for the maneuver, dogfighting in the A-10 is a blast, I’ve got several videos of doing it on the channel. Your main absolute in the a-10 is rapidly losing speed with those massive air brakes - so that always helps the bad guys get in front of you - then it’s time for the gun 😆 thanks for the comment and thanks for watchin!
