    Bro, you used kyza, meg, and fiona. No wonder you had a hard time. Those three are literally green units and basically unusable unless you boss abuse them

      Meg is very usable given how many chances she gets to fight, Fiona is almost unusable, and Kysha is about as usable as every other Laguz.

    Why is having more gameplay a bad thing? Would you have preferred an only 10 or 20 hour game? I never found any chapters to drag. I enjoy having more game to play, and reasons to replay a game. And honestly the difficulty is not that bad. I understand I’m biased cause I’ve literally beaten this game over 15 times. But still, I find that concept so weird. Ah well

    How on earth did that camp chapter take 15 turns? You have haar. And shoving is very useful in PoR and RD I don’t know how you managed to avoid using that mechanic.

    The best game in the series. If you know what you're doing. I love the maps, the re-balanced BEXP, The divided army and Micaiah. I will say it wasn't stupid for Micaiah to listen to her king. She's a General serving under Pelleas. It makes sense for her to listen.

      Plus if she refused to listen to him, it could cause a divide in Daein, which it really doesn’t need since it only recently regained its independence from Begnion.

      @@Eliwoodfan10 Yeah. Micaiah's also one of my favorite characters from the series, if not my favorite. I've managed to get all versions of her in Heroes save for her bridal form. Heck there's even a page on Serenes Forest dedicated to explaining her character, which I think is kinda neat.

    While there is a translation error with respect to the difficulties, I think if you had played on the actual Normal difficulty, you would have enjoyed Radiant Dawn's gameplay much more. The bonus experience is more generous, so the problems you had with low-level allies can be fixed pretty easily. Like me, it seems like you enjoy these games on the normal, more balanced difficulty. Three Houses is really one of the only Fire Emblems I enjoyed on Hard, mostly because Normal was actually too easy in that game. But I am plenty happy with Normal in every other game, mostly to avoid ambush spawns and other annoying problems.

    The theme from of the dawn brigade is patriotism and loyalty. They support their homeland while a striving to do the right thing, accepting the decree of their sovereign lord. Its very old world ethics which fire Emblem tacitly supports. The belief is that by doing the right thing in ignorance the right will win in the end. The blood pact is the vindication of their loyalty. They followed the good leader while not understanding his decisions because they could tell that he was good and worthy.
    The idea is that you don't need to know all the details to tell the difference between good and evil people. In fact the details can get in the way of determining this.

    +1 Best game in the franchise. It's so nice to have a game that rewards good decision-making like FE7 HHM but with a proper 40 (+25) hour story to enjoy it. Every game after this has watered down difficulty that doesn't require any critical thinking or planning, let alone any sense of foresight or resource management. Which is sort of the entire gameplay. I'm so over Fire Emblem as a franchise having new age Pokemon difficulty with a dating simulator attached. This game is so cool- every chapter has some different mechanic or device to work around, while still offering huge but genuinely fair challenges. Your enemies all feel godly powerful but so do your heroes. The only other IP even close for epic / satisfying is the second half of Gurren Lagann. Go crush 8 other baby mode FE games and then come back to this one when that's boring IMO

      I hope they don't remake it and actually just remaster it. I think the graphics, ui and cutscenes look really nice. The soundtrack is still incredibly unique and sounds amazing. The game clearly doesn't need help in that area. I'd only want some subtle changes to the gameplay to smooth it out, including the difficulty names. The art style and ost are pretty awesome though - I wouldn't want it updated. Just increase the resolution - I am happy.

    This was like...my second Fire Emblem game after I first started with Awakening. I definitely remember just thinking about how insanely difficult this game was. I unfortunately played through normal mode too thinking it was *normal mode* until finding out post-game completion that that was not the case. It's definitely a game I'll never go back to for a second playthrough. Ever. It's the pure definition of a one-and-done, and I think your review perfectly explains what made it a tedious and unfun. I did at least enjoy the story (even if it spoiled me on Path of Radiance plot points) and after I eventually was able to buy a copy of Path of Radiance for a decent price and play it, I ended up appreciating the whole of Tellius story with how it handled the theme of racism really well.

    I actually loved the story of RD. Micaiah following Pelleas orders for the war made sense because she is a general. She does not like war and suffering but as a general, it is her duty to follow her king's orders. She doesn't have the luxury of being Sothe or a third person viewer to make such comments and go against her king due to her position and that being tantamount to treason. Furthermore, she harbors no love for Crimea and the mercenaries as they led to the current state of Daein in the first place (even if it was Daien's fault), so why would she risk committing treason? Now the blood pact was too convenient and was one of the few faults in the story's plot, but I really felt for Pelleas in his position: either his people die or he goes to war. He was propped up to be leader due to his supposed heritage even though he lacked any leadership qualities, made mistakes such as signing the pact without reading the fine print due to his lack of experience, and the burden he had was ultimately too great. Elincia faced her own conflicts such as making hard decisions while dealing with an aristocracy who constantly chipped on her own insecurities as she has never had any experience in ruling a kingdom herself. I can go on and on. RD focused a lot on the psychological aspect of warfare and had a more complex narrative than the other Fire Emblem games. It was one of the few FE games that actually made me think. I also loved the varied gameplay, the challenges, the lengthy chapters, and the shifting of characters which made the game feel fresh to me. The only thing I did not like were the bare bones support and gutting the character relationships from PoR.

    Only reason there's so much complaining is because you played it on Normal, on Easy there wouldn't have been anywhere near as much restarting and frustration. That's a very hasty conclusion for someone who played it once on the wrong difficulty. Why ruin your experience? That's just dumb, just restart it on easy mode and you would have breezed through with challenges yes but not torment. You didn't mention anything about all the hidden items, weapons, treasures, the fact u can use all the laguz royals, 3 class tiers, all SS weapons, and the fact the Wii was able to show off by adding tons of units to the game. Easy mode would have given you a much faster pace as well. Not a good review, especially since you did have the option of going for an easier time when time when it got extremely difficult.

    • @TrashorTreasure
      @TrashorTreasure  Рік тому

      Well as I mentioned in the video, I didn’t find out the difficulty was a mistranslation until after already finishing, so forgive me for thinking “normal mode” was actually “normal mode”. Also, the stuff you bring up like the 3rd tier classes I already mentioned in my Path of Radiance video and even say in this one that a lot of what was in Path of Radiance is here as well. Also, does stuff like the hidden items, Laguz royals, treasures and weapons really matter? Do I have to mention every scrap of content the game has to offer? No, I don’t. I’m just here to give a general consensus as to what I think of the Radiant Dawn. I enjoyed some of the older Fire Emblem games, even with its own challenges, but this went too far for me, and even moving the challenge aside, the maps are unnecessarily long.

    Radiant Dawn may not have as much gameplay issues but there's still some fixes needed that should be put out.
    1. B Level magic tomes. Seriously, where are they?
    2. Tone down the absurd difficulty. This game is too unnecessarily hard for the sake of being hard.
    3. Decision making like sparing a certain character should be allowed in the first playthrough, not only follow up ones.
    4. Get rid of dark magic or convert them into light magic. There is no need for TWO trinities of magic to exist simultaneously.
    5. Stop it with the deleting skills if you remove them. Seriously, learned nothing from PoR???
    6. Include a post game content like the Trial Maps from the previous game. Give us a reason to play the game more than once other than, you can spare this character in the 2nd playthrough and onwards.
    7. Wind damage for Wyvern Riders again. Why are they hurt by thunder magic? They are NOT dragon laguz.
    That is it for RD.

    • @cupie2255
      @cupie2255 2 роки тому +2

      2. Aren't there multiple difficulty settings for a reason? The game didn't feel too unfair on the hardest difficulty(outside of Dawn Brigade chapter in fog), but to be fair, I did have a nice save file from Path of Radiance.
      3. True, minor content locked behind multiple playthroughs is weird and I'm glad they never did this again. Keyword, minor.
      4. I am actually a fan of the magic triangles. If anything, it sucks that the hardest difficulty gets rid of weapon triangles to artificially increase difficulty.
      5. It's been a year since I played this game, but I thought you actually get the scroll back when you remove a skill? Maybe I'm misremembering, but I'm fairly confident that this was the case.
      7. I actually like that they extended the laguz strengths that magic had to non laguz units. For some reason they decided to give Wind magic in this game the highest might of all 3 anima magics, without any of the downsides, so wind magic is kinda op, with thunder magic being the worst I have ever seen it in the series, so it needs the wyvern rider effectiveness way more than wind does here.
