I went to Japan in Autumn of 2018, and for some random reason decided to visit Matsumoto and the trees up in the mountains were all colored and just really nice to surround myself with. The city was pretty nice too.

It must be a nice change of pace for a video where you two don't have to be actively going somewhere, doing things, etc. Just comfortably talking about your favorite things is a great video and so easy for you guys, which I like. You don't always have to be doing 37 crazy things fit into 2 days for us. Stay healthy and comfy.

Would sort of appreciate a written list or some sort of link to copy and paste into Google so that we can see where these locations are relative to Tokyo / determine travel time from our hotel locations, but overall, really appreciate the tips on weather and how to dress! Thanks for sharing!!

Woah, I did not expect Kiba park to be mentioned in any video ever. I stayed in Japan for a year from Summer 2022 to Summer 2023 and stayed at various airbnbs that were in Koto-ku and Kiba park was one of the first places I walked through. It isn't the largest park ever but it's very nice and that's also an area that not many tourists go to since it is a bit out of center Tokyo.

I have only visited Japan once back 'in autumn'....2018....it was fantastic. Cant wait to return.
Became addicted to the egg sandwiches from the convenience stores....plus Boss coffee in a can. Oh and plus...the bakeries....arrh and everything else food wise...LOL 😂😂👍👍
In terms of other places for you both to review......Id love to see you go to the most remote, most traditional Japanese town its possible to visit.

We saw amazing foliage on Itsukushima Island near Hiroshima in the first half of November 2018! If you want to get a bit away from the crowds, stay on the island overnight so you can get up early before all the school trips and day-trippers descend. Some of my best autumn photos were from their Momiji park with the deer.

Hi Emma and Sarah. I live in the northernmost region of Norway, 500 km north of the arctic circle. Around here autumn is already over, all leaves are gone. We have snow on the ground from 100 meter above sealevel. Winter is closing in.
I'm going to Tokyo in late November, autum leaves may be gone by the time I arrive. Anyhow I will look out for the illuminations that are found a lot of places in Tokyo.
Oi, now I have to go to Kyoto sometime soon 🤩 and Kanagawa. The more I learn about Japan, the more places I have to visit. I always wanted to go to Japan, in 2023 I finally did it.
I've been to Japan two times this year already, and have a trip to Yokohama coming up in late November, I'm so happy Po.
You may visit Tamatsukuri Onsen, close to Matsue in Shimane prefecture 🙂 I hope to visit this place sometime in the future.

I do plan to go to Japan in the Autumn when I can finally afford it, but I am Canadian so the last thing I will be there for is leaves changing colours. Haha We get more than enough of that here! But will be down for the cooler weather, onsens, and the hot tasty drinks and foods!

If you prefer quiet over crowded, you don't mind cold weather and don't care much for the leaves, you might consider going at the start of the year in the winter. It's definately pricey in autumn, though not as bad as the spring. Sorry, a little bit unsolicited advice there, but I was quite surprised myself to find out it was almost as pricey as sakura season to do the autumn! Anyway, hope you have a lovely time when you finally make it over there.

@@SplatterInkerThanks for the suggestion! Unfortunately due to chronic illnesses, my body can’t handle heat or cold, so spring and fall are the only time I can really go out and explore, or travel. I’ve been researching travelling to Japan for 25 years.

One of my favourite places to visit in Autumn was just anything around Mount Daisen and Tottori city. There are still a lot of tourists , especially on the main travel paths for the mountain or seeking some more famous instagram-able ginko trees in Tottori city, but if you go for the lesser known paths or some of the more open areas you can just wander about and just embrace some beautiful gold and red foliage everywhere and no where near as busy as Kyoto and the like.
There are boat tours around the coast to the north all the way to Uradome if you want to do a circular tour (south by land to get to Kofu, around Daisen, north via the coast back to Tottori) that give you some visuals you don't get any other time of year.

I mean I have absolutely no intention of travelling to Japan or anywhere else despite how much I love the country, since I don’t fly for climate reasons. But any video with Sarah and Emma is always very funny and informative. I’ve always just done my exploring through the videos. Maybe I’m weird in that respect, but I find that I probably absorb a lot of Japanese culture without being there. If I was, I’d probably just wander around and feel overwhelmed at all the things I could do but don’t have enough time for.

I live in Colorado, USA. We have a habit of saying you know what season you're in by looking at Mt. Blue Sky (formerly Mt. Evans). It's fall so she's starting to get all dressed up (dusted with snow). It's winter when she has enough snow to change her outline and it's summer when you can see her outline again. Are there any tell tales like that in Japan? Geographic features folk trust more than the calendar?
