This is basically a 3D version of the 1991 Home Alone game. Except in that game i think only traps dealt damage and you could use the nail gun to stun the bandits for a moment (they were faster than you).

I think you are supposed to set traps and run about shooting at villains with your weak child weaponry to enrage them and make them chase you, and then you would lead them into the traps or like keep shooting him so he keeps chasing you to the treehouse climb the ladder throw paintcans at his head while he climbs up like the moooooovie. I do not believe the game is designed around using the child weapons to kill people like a shooter. I have never played this game but the trunk in the attic does make a noise like you are trying to open it and also you pushed it into the corner, but the front of it is in the corner so you're trying to open the side with hinges so since the game is very detail oriented I would probably have tried opening it at the front.
And that title screen... "Created by RetroRevenge Ltd" Whoever made this either actually founded a stock company for the purpose of making crap like this... or just felt the need to pretend they did. I'm not sure which would be more pitiful. Admittedly, the stock market is pretty absurd in and of itself.
