the battery powered cooktops are nice when you want to use boost mode but your electrical power supply can't provide enough current for that. for all other applications, just get a home battery. a cooktop battery is just a gadget outside of the scope of the boost mode.
hell no to induction cooktops. if you cook daily, they go bad after 5 to 7 years because of the power electronics. hella expensive to fix, too. if fixable at all, manufacturers often stop providing spare parts once it is only 5 to 7 yrs old.... classic halogen cooktop if you live in a well insulated airtight small home or apartment. good old gas stove if you live in a bigger well ventilated place.
Hi! It might be different in the US, but in Europe induction cooking has been the norm for the last 10-15 years at least and induction stovetops have gotten real cheap. You can get a decent one for 300€ and the most basic ones cost less than 150€. Also, I don't think they have longevity issues, my parent's one is 15 years old and the one in my appartment just got replaced but was from 2006 (Edit. I double checked). Of course a gas stovetop will last a lot longer, but I think the efficency of induction pays off.
Good luck finding a tech to repair any of the brands you highlighted. When they fail you’ll be waiting a long time for a fix or ending up buying a new one.
@ the brands the general consumer has never heard of that aren’t available off the floor at their local stores. As appliances get more complex the more likely you are to have issues. So ask about who maintains the brand in your area and hope they have parts in stock or can get them quickly.
@ Even if you get parts locally, most of the time its sourced from another warehouse which involves some online medium. The industry is constantly evolving and alot of mainstream brands all source online and sell it to consumers locally in their showrooms. Everything is online now. If you want something quickly, then you need to have the reps and dealers that have your same cores and values!
im all for the return of color in appliances tho 😍
