Very difficult but once achieved, the Chinese tech will be a giant bigger than what it will be it is allowed to fit into global supply without sanction.
Chinese EV/car manufacturers mastered build quality and fit and finish in less than a decade, there is no doubt whatsoever they will also master chip manufacturing in less time than that that which at that point China will not rely on the west for anything. Currently only commercial airlines remains the single largest expenditure for China's trade surplus.
The ideal would be improving relationships with USA and the neighbouring countries to collab. Anyway China is impressive so the catch up will happen in any case!

Breaking News! China has just announced its breakthrough in nuclear battery. Its published in Nature Science submitted by Suzhou University. This type of battery 243AM can last a thousand years. Can be applied on military weapons such as drones, carrier, use in space and under the ocean. NB: The science paper submitted does not contain any names. It stated submitted by Communist Party Of China (PRC).
