      Sorry but I can't find any details on it. I suspect it was commissioned by Sony specifically for their speakers so they wouldn't have to worry about royalties.

    Does it work with NFC?

      I don't see anything in the help guide or on the unit itself to suggest that it works with NFC. Regular Bluetooth connection or wired connections only, it looks like.

    But how many watts does it have

    • @ChrisBoylan
      @ChrisBoylan Місяць тому +4

      Sony doesn't publish the power ratings of its internal amps in their powered speakers. Not sure why. But it doesn't matter that much because it's a closed system. The only drivers the amplifier is powering are the ones inside the cabinet. When I do the full review, I'll take some SPL readings to see how loud it actually gets (my neighbors are gonna love me for that).

    the only cons about this speaker is you need a power cord, portable power station to switch it on.

    • @ChrisBoylan
      @ChrisBoylan Місяць тому +1

      Yes, I guess they did this to keep the price and the weight down, but it does limit the usability a bit. It probably would have been 90 pounds (which I kept saying it was) if they had included a big battery in there. The actual weight is 64 pounds. I thought it was heavier because apparently I'm a girly-man. :)

      @@ChrisBoylan, what i know is this speaker is too power hungry for a battery to handled.

  • @samuelbullert5481

    The power cord is used to charge the speaker…not because of how powerful the speaker is🤦🏼‍♂️

    • @ecoustics
      @ecoustics  День тому

      The power cord is used to power the speaker directly, not to "charge" the speaker. Unlike most party speakers (including most Sony party speakers), the ULT Tower 10 can't be used without being plugged in because it has no internal battery. The high power output of the ULT Tower 10 would have required a very large (and heavy) internal battery pack which would have increased both the cost and the weight significantly. It's unfortunate because in most other ways, the Ult Tower 10 is really an excellent party speaker.

    the audio and caption are two different prices, the description has two prices

    • @ChrisBoylan
      @ChrisBoylan Місяць тому

      Yeah, the auto-generated captions had a few issues and my editor copied the price from the bad caption. That actual price is $1199 (US). I fixed it in the captions and in the description. Thanks for the heads-up!

    Why is the wattage a secret?

    • @ChrisBoylan
      @ChrisBoylan Місяць тому +1

      Not sure why they don't publish the internal power of their party speakers. But since it's an internal self-contained system, the actual number of Watts isn't that relevant. All that matters is what SPL they can crank out and for the Tower 10, that it quite high. I haven't measured it yet with an SPL meter but it can get really loud without a lot of distortion.

    Hey man you should review jbl products. Its the working mans speaker. Enjoy it before the executives realize what they have and corrupt it into something trying to imitate sony.
