It was the emergency call operator who truly saved the day, not the officer. While the officer was ready to help a child, the reality is that once that child grows up, both the officer and the emergency operator may treat them poorly. This incident, despite its satisfying outcome, is nothing more than a propaganda ploy. The system portrays itself as indispensable, suggesting that without it, we are lost. We must ensure that those in power consistently perform their duties as intended, rather than merely doing something commendable on rare occasions and using it for self-promotion, as evidenced in the video.

Raised with no food, beaten kept out of school cause of bruises. HRS in Florida didn't care, my granny, aunts cousins tried to help but Nancy Fountain Daytona Beach friends with my parents worked for HRS and called warn my parents each time they have been reported for child abuse. All of us siblings ran away from home only to be taken back. The last time I was beaten was at red light oh hwy 92 coming from a home where I was for 2 weeks. I jumped out the back door of the van, ran through housing area. Deputy picked me up, told him I will keep running away as long as I am with my parents. Us for siblings were shot at by shot gun by our dad, lucky enough we were so skinny we could hide behind smalk pine trees. Next day they brought me to Georgia to more family members at 15. I had food everyday, comfortable bed with sheets blankets to keep warm I never had and didn't know what they were. Two weeks later turned 16, got waitress job for my own money and went to school . I try not to dwell on this, but these kids being treated poorly breaks my heart. Also, if i see any child left in a car I call the cops. I still have fears for being left in hot van every week while they shop at malls for my deceased sister. They said was to ugly and cannot be seen in public. They would leave window down just an inch and tell me not mess with them stay in back. My behind rolled them down trying to be seen. Now all car windows are electric need key to roll down, so what the heck are parents thinking. I would be happy to speak up for kids because it's scary

I even had 2 students who would only eat half of their meal and put the other half in their backpack to take to younger siblings at home to eat. Many people don't qualify for food stamps because they are undocumented or have committed a crime. Some parents spend all their money on drugs, alcohol and cigarettes. I saw several reasons why kids are hungry. I would try to help as much as I could without getting into trouble. I would even buy shoes and winter coats for some. I would also buy the shampoo for those that had lice.

why should someone who has committed a crime not be entitled to food stamps? Geez! You pay for the crime, not by the stomach but what a court sentences you to, it should not include food, what the heck? There should be a standard of portion of food and how many times a day, if a person criminal or not, persons asset rich but income poor, all should qualify for food stamps if the portion and amount per day/week of food falls below standard food intake. It's cruelty, sheer cruelty to make a person pay over and over and over again, what for the same crime? What is the world coming too? The point is even those in prisons get access to food, that point should be made regarding qualifying in food stamps. Plus a child should not pay for an adults crime either, whether parent or guardian or relative. Goodness sakes they are just but a child and dependant.

How people can breed and produce offspring only to treat them like this, bewilders me. 😢 even this child knew his voice had to be heard, he was hungry and his hunger pains where unbearable to deal with. He knew that he had to act fast or risk dying of starvation. How smart of him to call 911 for help, he knew where his voice would be heard when his parents where so deaf and blind as to turn a blind eye from feeding a little soul that was fragile and in need of help and a good meal no so than the monsters that brought him into the world 😢

Alot of them aren't even with the father and if they are most of them don't seem to stick around for very long. They don't want to get an abortion cause they think it's not right but I guess starving a child, abusing them and worst of all they get molested. I just don't get it. If they would stop having kids they don't really want with random guys the CPS or whatever it's called wouldn't be so over loaded and could do their jobs right instead of tons of kids "slipping though the cracks" as they say. Sorry didn't mean to go off but it iust really bugs me.

We a family of 8 children, single parent, we were clean, wore clothes , shoes not the in style at the time, went to school everyday, our clothes clean, we helped carry and fold laundry 🧺 for 8 plus my parent, sheets, blankets etc...we were fed everyday my single parent cooked everyday for us 8 children, not fast food, not microwave food, like todays "parents "
I am a witness to living in poverty and not looking like it, even homeless look homeless , terrible because there are centers, outreach that they can shower I speak 🗣️ from facts.

And not everyone lives in a place that has any help for the homeless and hungry or abused. My town has nothing and the homeless hide .we are not seen sleeping in public it's against the law . Most homeless just go to jail .it's a bed a shower and 3 meals a day and clean clothes and out of the weather . And the jail here has showers in every cell and they give inmates tablets . So why wouldn't the homeless and hungry and abused go to jail ? That's all there is here.

The parents priority was their drugs not the child.
So WHY would anyone not stand up for the child?
The parents deserve to NEVER have or to see the any child again, they made their choice when they chose to allow the child to starve and be neglected.
