  • Let’s dive into Wolverine Revenge #1 by Jonathon Hickman and Greg Capullo. In this episode, we’re breaking down Marvel’s new ‘Red Band’ initiative, where they print two versions of the same comic-one for general audiences and one with a ‘parental advisory’ label. The Red Band edition goes all-in on explicit content, offering more blood, violence, and a grittier take on Wolverine. We’ll explore the differences between both versions and discuss how Hickman’s writing and Capullo’s art shine in each. Whether you’re into Wolverine’s darker side or prefer the classic approach, this issue is a must-see!

Seeing the comparisons was fun! I agree-the red band edition was disappointing and not different enough to justify two versions. They dropped the ball!

I hope they step up their game with issue two!

THanks for doing this comparison. I was not going to buy both version. Don't want to send Marvel the wrong message that they can double dip the same book with a few extra panels.
They will probably do another version like a directors cut later on. Totally try to milk it.

Thanks for the comparison! It was really interesting to see the differences. It looks like also the red band has a digital version and the regular one doesn’t?

That’s super interesting! I didn’t even think to look at which version got a digital version - that’s strange they would only make one available digitally. Thanks for watching!
