    I wish this were built as a Reverb/Tremolo in one similar to the Strymon Flint with a separate switch and controls for the Tremolo along with a toggle switch for Tremolo type. Perhaps in the future..fingers crossed!

      Using the tap switch, you can switch on the trem.

    Best spring reverb other than a vintage fender unit belongs to this algorithm within my ventris. Then again, my old fender is noisy unlike the true spring.
    Glad you guys did a standalone unit. This kills the Flint.

    There’s gotta be a mk2 of this with midi in or tap in for tremolo.
    Predelay knob, secondary functions labeled. Less app, more physical tweaking, oh and have the reverb itself have more stereo options

    The reverb and tremolo sound is flat out amazing. Accessing the tremolo controls seems pretty goofy and convoluted though.

    I've been thinking about busking. I want to play tunes like Walk Don't Run, Apache, Wheels, Perfidia, etc. using a battery-powered amp and backing tracks. This reverb unit sounds like just the ticket for this. Excellent reverb - sounds like the spring reverb in my Fender Blues Jr., Traynor YCV 20, and Fender Hot Rod Deluxe.

    Hey, any way you guys and gals could add an instructional video showing how to change hardware and software settings using the app? And more importantly, what to expect to see in the app and on the pedal.
    I used the pedal live tonight, and it absolutely kicked a**.
    However, before I got to that point, I had tried to save a custom setting through the app with a little bit deeper drip, modulation and diffusion.
    The app did not show what I expected - like hardware changes being saved, even though they apparently were (tails and preset mode on or off ). I ended up saving my sound almost completely accidentally, not sure how I did it, and worked well live.
    The app showed that I had not selected preset or no preset, but the pedal LED color changed as if I was changing defaults as I was trying to do. I didn’t know what Red vs Green meant (probably in the manual, but I did not see it quickly). I tried to load this new setting into the “Short” toggle selection, and it just did not take it for quite a bit of time... and then suddenly it was there. No idea why.
    Also, when I plugged this into my notebook and pulled up the Neuro software, It did not show the pedal any of the adjustable parameters, as it had with the Ventris. Again, I’m not sure why - maybe because the pedal is new? Between juggling work that I was still trying to close out and getting ready to play tonight, working through this was complicated, but ended up accidentally working out as desired.
    I’m thinking that I either had done something wrong and it shouldn’t be this complicated, or it’s just not quite stable yet because it is so new. Can you guys help with an instructional video that shows visually what to expect to see when saving a new setting to the pedal In both default and preset modes?
    Thanks!
    After getting through all of that, the True Spring knocked it out of the park tonight!

      Hey, Jim. We're happy to hear that the True Spring delivered the goods during your live set. We are, as we speak, in the process of putting together a video the explains some of the most useful and slightly hidden features of the True Spring and how it works with the Neuro Mobile App and Neuro Desktop Editor.
      Just to quickly answer some of your questions, if you create a preset with the Neuro Mobile App you need to dial in the sound you like with the Neuro App (use the 1/8" to 1/4" cable from the headphone jack on your phone to Input 2 on the pedal - turn the headphone volume all the way up). Once you have the sound together hit the BURN button at the bottom of the screen and select the toggle switch position where you want your setting to live. There are six places you can put the settings: choose from three toggle switch positions in NORMAL Mode (the center LED is green) and the three toggle switch position in PRESET Mode (the center LED is red). To switch between modes you need to bypass the pedal then press and hold the footswitch until the center LED changes color (green for NORMAL Mode and red for PRESET Mode). In NORMAL Mode (green) it functions like a normal pedal where the physical positions of the knobs dictate the sound. In PRESET Mode (red) all the knobs positions are saved and automatically come up when you engage the pedal or move the toggle switch to a new position. To re-save a sound in PRESET Mode, dial in the knobs the way you like them, then press and hold the footswitch until the center LED stops blinking.
      I hope this explanation will help until we finish producing a proper video to explain some of the finer details of the True Spring Reverb. Thanks again for picking up the pedal.

      Hey all - Thanks for the explanation, I forgot to come back and your response. That explained a lot! I was trying to do too much with the two soon, with two small of a cranial cavity :-). I used this pedal in the studio last night, and it sounded fantastic! Just an absolutely great tool. Right on!

      sourceaudioeffects hello I’m hoping you can help me. I’m having issues with the tap switch working. I have followed the directions and hooked the tap switch up to the pedal using the mini TSR cable. I am trying to use the tremolo bypass / engage mode.I am powering on the pedal by putting the power supply in at the same time as holding down the Control input button. I’m waiting for the three blanks and then releasing the control input button. But the tap switch is doing nothing after that it’s not adding or removing the tremolo. What am I doing wrong?

    Great pedal - but one quibble. For stuff that quite often goes in the effects loop it's always nice to see MIDI, because otherwise it can be a bit of a headache to make work with pedal switchers.

    • @sourceaudioeffects

      It is possible to control the True Spring Reverb with MIDI, but it requires getting a Neuro Hub, which costs around $99.

    Got mine yesterday, sounds great. Only thing I would like is that when in standard mode the tremolo setting wouldn't change when I change the reverb type from the switch. Is there a way to do that? I have tap tempo switch to turn tremolo on and off and to me it would be easiest to use when I could change from reverb to another keeping the tremolo same.

    • @sourceaudioeffects
      @sourceaudioeffects  6 років тому +5

      What you can do is go into the Neuro Mobile App or Neuro Desktop Editor and reassign the primary function of the DWELL and TONE knobs. Just use the DWELL Knob (Normal) pulldown menu and set it to Tremolo Depth and hit the TONE Knob (Normal) pulldown menu and set it to Tremolo Rate. You can set the DWELL and TONE Assign (Alternate) pulldowns and assign whichever parameters are most useful to you - these will be the parameters accessible by holding down the CONTROL INPUT button. If you do this for all three of the toggle switch positions, your tremolo settings will remain after you have moved the toggle switch. Thanks for picking up the True Spring!

    Does fender reverb(Tre-verb)effect has the same sound as this one?

  • @Topsy_Krett
    @Topsy_Krett 4 роки тому

    These demos often include "Walk, Don't Run" in them. The funny part is that the guitar on the recording doesn't seem to have spring reverb at all but rather some room reverb and a bit of tape echo. Springs do sound good on the song though and it's possible that the Ventures may have used Fender reverb when playing live.

    Can you reset the pedal to factory settings after you sent your changes from the App?

    • @sourceaudioeffects
      @sourceaudioeffects  6 років тому +3

      Yes, there is a Factory Reset button at the bottom of the Hardware Options page on the Neuro Mobile App. You can also press and hold the footswitch while you plug in the power supply to do a factory reset.

  • @markallen381
    @markallen381 8 місяців тому +1

    For this to be used with MIDI it needs a real MIDI connector, because of that I won't buy it. They will tell you to buy other options to make it usable. I also don't like the side mounted jacks, when are manufacturers going to get wise? I've rejected many of Source Audio other offerings because of the same things. Good clean sound though.

    • @fatbastard1229
      @fatbastard1229 2 місяці тому

      Great sounding pedal. Almost completely replicates a true spring. The midi isn’t for tempo sync, but for setting tweaking. I chose it over the holy Surfybear which has no midi options. Just be happy…

    Sourceaudio, why doesn't the True Spring Reverb software have a Drip and Splash parameters to adjust how much Drip and Splash and Springy sound you want. I want the software to be able to adjust how much drip, how much splash and how much of the spring noise to get those surf tank sounds. The Software needs 3 more parameters Drip, Splash, Springy

  • @lilnutty6821

    For such a great sounding pedal, the "artwork" and design is so boring and uninspiring. Honestly if this looked even an ounce better I would buy one straight away. Anyone that says the look of a pedal doesnt impact their purchase is lying

  • @allywilkeforsenate

    If there are no springs on it,it is not a true spring reverb.It will sound like shit through a high gain tube amp.

    • @countleoponevonflikinstein8832
      @countleoponevonflikinstein8832 6 років тому

      Ally Wilke obviously its not a true spring, its a pedal emulating it and in all the demos its not run through a hard high gain amp. I dont think this pedal was made for that.

    I contacted Source Audio several times and have never received an answer. Why doesn't this pedal come with a USB cable as that is one of its chief features? I need a usb for this unit and would appreciate an answer. So far, this has been the worst customer service issues I have ever had. Just complete silence, no response at all. Based on this I will never buy another source audio product.It's not that good anyway.

    • @sourceaudioeffects
      @sourceaudioeffects  5 років тому +3

      Sorry to hear about your customer service experience. It's very unlikely that your email made it to our inbox - we pride ourselves in keeping up with tech assistance. We decided not to include a USB with our pedals, because we didn't want to add to the overall cost of the pedal for a cable that most people already own (they come with several electronic devices). Plus we don't want to create more landfill with un-used USB cables.
