In Russia, we are all getting this kind of manicure, and instruments are being sterilized (pushers, nails bits and scissors), there is no chance you will be getting the same pack of instruments that were used on previous clients, even nail file is going to be brand new Personally I do manicure for 5 years like this, and I’ve never experienced any infection, it is important to go to an educated person
A professional would understand proper cuticle care would eliminate the need to cut it off because over time they would shrink as you push them down. It’s like shaving your head because your hair got dirty. It’s unnecessary. Medical professionals advise against it. I’ll trust someone with 12+ years of medical school/residency than a nail tech.

Not really. There are many different ways to remove(or not remove) cuticles. Some only punch them back, some use a round drill bit, some use a special oil to soften them, some just leave them. This specific method is called a Russian manicure. Just because it’s called that, doesn’t mean it’s not done everywhere.

Cuticles are the sealant between your nails and your skin, they prevent bacteria and fungus from taking root there. Cutting cuticles actually risks you to infections and is very much similar to the habit of nail biting, in a way. It's healthier to just oil them and push them gently if you want to get your nail polish as close to the base as possible. If you really want to cut it, make sure you're either disinfecting and sanitizing your nippers or going to nail techs who you trust to disinfect their tools after every client PROPERLY.
