I really like this idea - it could be fun to watch other public domain movies with the film studies crowd, if you wanted to do this not on a scary night.
this was rad as hell. i really appreciated Cameron's insights into German expressionism - it was super interesting to see where all of those modern tropes came from.
I really loved watching this live and would like to add another thumbs up for “more please”. Similar to Adam’s Dice Friends streams a few sprinkled across the year would be lovely. Honestly watching a group of friends just enjoy each other’s company is lovely, and this also gives a great way to explore films people might not usually choose.
The House on Haunted Hill was made during the Immergo days of cinema, when they used physical props and sometimes even smells in the theatre to enhance the experience.
Honestly thanks for doing this. I love old movies like these but I don't really have anyone that wants to watch them with me. But it's hard to sit down alone and watch them...
thia was awesome! I would love to see more vods of this idea! both the movies Ive never seen before and loved watching them with your thoughts and views over the top. Thanks heaps and hopfullt we can see more of these movie nights!
More movie nights would be great especially for the Holidays. Like you said not everyone is doing anything and if some of you aren’t it will also give any of you something to do.
8 minutes in and.. Thanks Cameron. I never knew how much I wanted Blue-Raspberry flavoured twizzlers until it was suggested as a remote-as-possible possibility.
1:05:44 Actually there is at least one Streamer Horror Movie: "Deadstream" (2022) A disgraced youtube (?) stunt streamer stays in a haunted house and does a livestream for the whole night... I haven't seen it myself yet but it seems to be promising. 1:45:33 Between 1871-1923 the German currency was "Mark". 1 Mark would have been 100 "Pfennig". 2:24:51 Ah, it's the skelly from the first movie! Or one of its relatives...must be a proud family of skelly actors! Also, yes, more movie nights please!
This was much more enjoyable than I would have ever predicted, I hope this gets a few extra 'too lazy to do anything else' Crossing the Streams or more thoughtful bonus stream versions of this like this was. The former seems like you can do the work a head of time finding a small stockpile of public domains to sorta throw on when you have last minute plan fall throughs or other technical problems.
Ah yes ofc. Man has emotional response, he's just reacting to circumstances. Woman has emotional response under the exact same circumstances and its hysteria and she's mentally ill Man this shit was literally used to get ppl institutionalised sexism is wild

Seconding this. Every other week or so we can have TheatLRR!

That was also a William Castle film, and he was known for his gimmicks.
The exterior shots of a blocky house is the Ennis House, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright about a decade before Fallingwater
This is excellent and would be a lovely annual event. Praise Heather for the upload!

This is the content I crave.
Also can we change the saying to "Chekhov's Acid Pit" from now on?

Ooh, nice picks! I started getting into older horror movies over the last couple years, and these are definitely winners

Oh the House on Haunted Hill exterior is the same as Deckard's apartment in Blade Runner. I knew I recognised those tiles
Wow this was incredible ❤
"House on the Hill, drinking game"
Betrayal x Heroes of Barcadia?
I'd be down for that cross over board game
I hope there is sound here. Twitch muted it. Because of copyright.
Streams. It is on the streams.
I'm so jealous of them being able to download 6 gigs in 2 hours.
Would love more watch alongs with some of the crew

I really liked Monday Night Movie Fright!
The house in House on Haunted Hill is a real house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. It's known as the Ennis house.
