yeah its a geared hub motor in X Class which means its start off the line will be ok despite its low power. I've been wondering whether those geared hubs have the same top speed as the direct drives. Also I wonder if Sur Ron could have much higher top speed if it had a second gear.
The X-Class Step-Thru is 13 lbs lighter than the standard X-Class, which should mean better exceleration and a higher top speed. The difference in weight is clearly shown here in this drag race. Perhaps the Step-Thru will be a true 50 mph e-bike. Ariel Rider claims the Step-Thru frame is every bit as strong and robust. What do you think? It is up to the increased power? I have ordered the controller and screen upgrade already and can't wait for the 60 volt battery. When do you expect it to be available?
Couldn't order it from the site. Tried multiple cards. You may want to check with PayPal perhaps. I'll try ordering it another day to see if it goes through.
Do you think using a molicel battery would produce more power for the 60v X-class? And how about a race between a stock 52v and the 60v? Looking forward to the kit.
@@manasseh7 Yes, I've seen the previous videos. I believe it would be helpful to see it play out vs simply comparing the numbers. I have a 48v and I've seen the 48v race a 52v. Seeing a 52v race a 60v would give me a better picture of how quick the 60v is. I appreciate your response.
I want to know how you got a 83ah battery in that battery compartment without some modifications. You claim the battery is 5kw 60v. Well that's 83ah. That's the highest I've heard yet.
Did you take into consideration the gearing. If the suron has one tooth less on the front sprocket it will get the jump but loose top speed. Gearing is so important for torque and top speed
@@JackCecil is that pre order on your site backwards compatible for the stock 52v battery or will I have to buy a 60v battery for it to work? I saw in a previous video that you were testing it on the 52v battery as well. Didn't know if you just decided to make it a 60v exclusive. Thanks for the time and answers.
The type s even with an x controler the motor has smaller magnets 17inch tires the gearing is not the same as an x. Also the battery is not the same as a ron x compared to the s Not a fair comparison.. Didn't need to finish the video
We need more videos like this .. this is good content brother. Keep up the good work.
I'm all the more excited about having ordered your controller. Great video!
I like how you completely ditched the pedals on your ariel rider.
30lbs really made a difference 😂 wow I’m shocked sweet vid can’t wait for that controller
he also wasn’t fully tucking at parts, wind draft is the biggest factor
That is sick!!!! Holy shit! Wow, incredible work on that controller.
Wooohooo, So lookin' forward to all of us getting our new controllers! Wowza!
Can't wait either haha thanks Jack!
Amazing! Can't wait to get that new controller
What screen is that on the X-class?
Duuuude how the hell you modded this X class 45 mph plus no pedals 😱😱🤯🤯🔥🔥

There can be only one!! All your ebikes plus a few more from your sponsors = one awesome drag race 😁👍✌

the step thru is actually the same weight..... ariels listed specs are incorrect
@@gulfcoaster210 ya i always wondered about that, if anything the standard should be lighter from its smaller handlebars.
Just a note that its not a X-class step thru in the video its just a normal x-class
Bravo 👏. Next is to figure out how to incorporate a stronger motor with this setup. 60v battery + upgraded controller + upgraded motor = 💨 50 mph.
How did you do your footpeg/ pedal chain removal on the x? I am just curious how the gearing works without it. I been intrigued.
Nice love the video... shaw and drags..awesome
Can you send the link for the throttle? I noticed you removed the original thumb throttle and I’m looking for a twist throttle as well.😊
Amazon.
What did you do to get 45mph? Might try that on my grizzly?
I wonder what the results would be if the surron had supermoto tires?
Good content and big props for Ariel X. I will purchasing one in the coming months and looking forward into hot rodding it out.
if you haven't already do the race again when you cut the surron green wire

I was able to order it this morning. Thanks for the work you're putting into this project.
You didn't mention how your original test runs were steady 38 mph top 39 mph and now how it's 45 mph ..
So that x class does about 45MPH with only a little over 1000 watt motor? Am not trolling just curious🤨
yes that's right
@@JackCecil oh ok. My ebike has a 1000 watt motor as well how do I make it go as fast as your x class? It's also unrestricted as well. Thank you
You would need to upgrade the controller and battery.
@@JackCecil thank you. As a suggestion you should work on an ebike with the bafang ultra motor 👍
Can't wait to get my controller
Nice work Jack! 😁 Impressive 👍
Bryan, have you ordered the new controller for yours yet?
@@Campfussell I have not but it's tempting
thanks!
@@CitizenCycle925 It's faster than your diy dual motor ebike. Better get this upgrade.
@@TheWelbeckTeam certainly a cheap way to go fast!
Where did you get the 60V battery for the X-Class?
HOW FAST IS THAT ONYX RCR VS THESE TWO?
I thought the seron would be bigger
How do I get that kit for my Xclass stepthru? Yes I got a Xclass also..
Yeah.. Kepler uses that same motor I think.. Hope I can use this set up or similar one day 👍😂
You sell moded versions like you have?
What is the screen on the x ??????
Nice Test. 2WD Areal Rider would be awesome 😜 easy conersion on the Front wheel and another esc. Batterien and done 🥳🎊😎
That's called an Ariel Rider Grizzly.

stock 52v does takes about 11-12 seconds to hit 30mph and 60v takes about 5-6 seconds

So the xclass is actually faster?
How?👀 45 mph?
Where did you get the x class battery and controller? 👀
How can you get the 60v battery for the x class?
What tires are on the X class?
BIG GUYS NEED BIKES WITH TWO MOTORS. OTHERWISE THE LAUNCH WILL ALWAYS BE SLOW.

Completely stock. No mods.
Bro! Can you tell me where to send you my money for this kit please? This is how it should have come from AR. TAKE MY MONEY ALREADY!!!!!

More Sur Ron content!
Surron rear tire looks flat.
I wonder how the Ariel grizzly would do against it.
A stock grizzly is no where near as fast
@@JackCecil you sure about that maybe on the single motor setting but idk how it would be on the duel motor setting.
I’d like to know for sure as well. Top speed is definitely much faster on your x class 60v. I’m just curious up to 35mph lol.
🤘🤘
Damn Surron not even an ebike guy....no pedals! He has a basic motorcycle....don't call it an ebike
Anybody under 200 is petite
