    Omg this video is extremely helpful. I applied to Massachusetts nursing school and I was worried after graduation that I would be stuck in the state and can never move my license.

    You would think that most states would join the nurse licensure compact given what happened during pandemic but apparently not. They would suspend stuff only when they feel like they need to like NY but not adopt the compact which makes more sense.

    • @travelnursecayla
      @travelnursecayla  2 роки тому +1

      A lot of states have joined and more are in process, but yes, I agree that every state should be included at this point.

    Hi love this video so informative. I live in NYC ( NON-COMPACT STATE) heard a rumor that they allowed NY nurses to apply for compact license but I did not find anything to support that rumor. Have you heard anything about that?

    • @travelnursecayla
      @travelnursecayla  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you for the support! I have not heard that. At the peak of covid last year and at some select hospitals lately, NY waived having a NY license in hand. I worked off my FL license last year during the peak. For the most part, they're requiring a NY license to work now. I haven't heard of NY entertaining the idea of joining the NLC at this time.

      I'm thinking you're referring to the COVID emergency license in MA and IL? If so, mine have both expired as of last year and I was notified via email by each BON on their expiration without renewal. IL *may* still be accepting temp covid licenses though, but I'm not entirely certain. I did find the link here though so you can check if this is still an option idfpr.illinois.gov/Renewals/Apply/Forms/F2398.pdf

      So your license issued by your compact state will say "multistate" which enables you to go to any of the compact states.

      I'm not sure what CGFNS is. All you need to do is select multi-state (not single state) as the license option on your licensure application. That'll get you the compact license. Hope that helps :)

      It depends on your state. Most Board of Nursing websites can give an estimate or this website may be useful. I'm not sure if it's up-to-date, but worth looking at so you have an idea on turn around time.

    Is it going to be the same for foreign school graduate nurses with compact license? Or do we need to go through English proficiency exam and credential evaluation over and over everytime we relocate?

    • @travelnursecayla
      @travelnursecayla  Рік тому

      I don't know the answer to this, but I'd advise looking on the board of nursing website for your state and see what their requirements are. If you're already licensed in the US, it's simply an endorsement application for most other states. But, double check the state-specific BON website. Hope that helps, sorry I couldn't give you a definite answer.

      Yes, absolutely. It's just a box that you check on the application when it asks if you're seeking single or compact licensure. Be sure to check where you will be living to make sure they are part of the eNLC first :)

    I have a question. The crisis license do not affect my nursing license right. It's just an extension of my regular nursing license?

    • @travelnursecayla
      @travelnursecayla  3 роки тому +1

      Correct! It has no impact on your currently active license(s). It's just an emergently issued license for crisis management that bypasses the traditional requirements in those states.

    Hey, Thanks so much for this video! I do have a question though... I got my nursing degree in Pennsylvania, but am licensed in the state of Georgia. I moved back to Pennsylvania while I wait for my roommate to find a job (which could be anywhere in the US). Since i'm chilling in PA for a bit, I made an account on Medely because they have Per Diem jobs. I was going to apply to upgrade to a compact license in Georgia, so I can practice in New Jersey... but I no longer hold a permanent residence there (which is a no no). So should I just apply to a PA license in hopes that they will implement the compact licensure while I am here??? Second Question, how can I hold a license in multiple states if my residence keeps changing? Can I just use my parents home in PA that I visit all the time? Thank you! Sorry for the huge message!

    • @travelnursecayla
      @travelnursecayla  3 роки тому

      Hi, no worries at all for the lengthy question. It's a lot to need to know! So, basically, since you're no longer a GA resident, you will need to apply for your PA license (or whichever state will be your permanent home). You'll want to check the eNLC website to see the status of PA as far as consideration for participation. Some of the states on the list will specify if they're pending legislation or not. As far as working in NJ, since PA doesn't participate in the compact agreement, you'll have to apply for a stand alone NJ license. You'll need to use your PA address for applications for endorsement in other states. You won't need an address in each individual state in order to get a license in each of those states (if that makes sense). I hope that answered you questions. If you need any clarification or have follow up questions, let me know!

      @@reginacappella8682 I think you should explain the situation to a potential landlord/leasing office, if you aren't fully employed in FL yet. Let them know you're actively looking for a job. Or, on the other hand, you can start applying for jobs there now and once you get hired, simply provide your employment offer with an estimated income. Not sure if that helps much, but I think depending on where you live will determine the hoops you'll have to jump through.

    If you have a single state license in a compact state can it be used in another compact state?

    • @travelnursecayla
      @travelnursecayla  10 місяців тому

      Unfortunately no. It will need to be a multistage license to be valid in other compact states. So, for example, if you have a Florida single state license, simply go onto the BON website, log into your account, and click the option to change license to multistate. I believe there's a fee for doing it or you can wait until your renewal period to switch it at that time. It's usually a simple process to change the designation on most state BON websites. I hope that helped!

    Hi, I have one question, when do they ask to submit primary proof of residence to submit or they just ask for declaration and address?
    Thanks in advance.

    • @travelnursecayla
      @travelnursecayla  11 місяців тому

      Hi, great question! There's a tax home declaration form attached to the onboarding documents you fill out. It'll ask for your permanent address (and will ask questions to confirm it is in fact a permanent residence vs you being what's condisered an itinerant worker). They'll also ask for a copy of your driver's license (or some form of government ID). Actual proof of residence is typically only required at tax time if you're using a tax accountant specializing in travel taxes and/or in the event of an IRS audit. I recommend holding onto receipts of rent payments while on contract, which can be airbnb receipts, paper receipts, hotel bills, etc. to show a duplication of expenses while on contract. I also have a video specifically on taxes on my page if you have more questions on that topic. Hope that helps :)
