I found this so incredibly insightful as a UX Designer who is just venturing into the freelance world. One question I have (for anyone) is: after suggesting these edits to a website, do you personally go in and make the changes, or leave that up to the client and the specific platform the website is hosted on?
Don't make any changes yet, first wait for the client to reply and want the website to be made because if you make the website before they even say yes, you will just be wasting your time
What is the data on this approach? How many of them do you send? What percentage replies? What percentage are you able to get on the phone? How does it compare to cold calling or emailing?
Please do a video for pricing too. New Web design. Redesign. Etc. For instance for the dental how much should I tell them when they contacted me and ask about the price or something.
I love this! I would love to watch a series of UA-cam videos like this, to not only help with loom calls but also to improve my own web design. Any suggestions or hopefully new content on critiquing local websites?
Great idea to show actual live Looms you've recorded for your potential customers! Can you share, please, the stat about how many actual clients you've got after sending, let's say, 50 looms?
Max, I bet it's all about the title of an email, I had as little as 5% and as many as 35% open rates with the cold emailing (± 200 emails). Thus, we are not even talking about watching the content and becoming clients.
@@gennyg8662 How long are you using this method? I have one small tip for you: instead of just emailing, try calling the customer. That'll improve your chances of viewing the Loom video and closing the deal.

I imagine that most people use Wordpress but I kinda like using Webflow. How do you combat this?
Hey Charlie, great tips and video overall. However, would it be more efficient to send out messages first to ask if this is something that they'd even be interested in receiving? My reasoning is that a quick intro message would probably take a couple minutes to write and send. Whereas a good loom video critique would take at least 10 minutes or so (including preparation, actual critique, any retakes etc). By sending out messages first we'd be able to reach more people much faster and also filter out the ones who aren't interested in receiving the loom videos. And then we can focus more effort on the ones that are interested by sending them the loom video. Just a thought I had regarding this method. Anyone got feedback or experience on this?
Hi mate, love this thought. I think it's an approach you could try if you felt this was taking too much time. There are a few reasons you would want to go direct to loom however: 1. Response rate is an issue - Meaning: asking if people want a site critique will only yield a certain number of responses. Whereas sending a Loom criqitue and providing value upfront will make you stand out. 2. The Loom introduces you to them and showcases your unique qualities off the bat, creating a better first impression than a cold email. 3. There is also the speed of simply sending once and moving on to the next. By creating an additional step of asking first you're effectively adding more time to each loom you do. My advice here would be to get stuck in and get really good at sending looms quickly and professionally. The more the better. The skills will transfer to other parts of your offering. Thanks again for the question and good luck!
Solid feedback and advice there! I appreciate it, I'll go direct to loom then in that case. Once again, thanks for clarifying that and sharing this insight with us!
