Excellent dubbing and effort :) Sorry for the weird question, but how do you find the Zed R16 in terms of integration between your DAW and hardware? I settled on a Soundcraft MTK22 in the end but I was eyeing up the Zed R16 for a considerable time (it looks like a reliable mixing board but I was a bit skeptical about the short throw faders). Cheers :)
Thanks. I find it's great. I also was looking for a certain size overall and this fit. The faders are short, but for dubbing it doesn't matter, I'm kicking them all the way up anyways. If I had to buy a mixer now I'd probably end up with the Soundcraft too. The R16 isn't made anymore and the Soundcraft is the next closes thing with the similar functionality. Other than that it'd be a separate interface with a more expensive mixer.
Beautiful sounds! I have the r16, would you talk with me about how you set it up for performance mixing? I have it running firewire into protools and can’t seem to get recorded signal back into the board so the faders work. I think it’s something in the i/o setup on protools: Cheers!
Give thanks. Of course I would help if I can. It’s definitely the i/o settings, seems like the outs. I use cubase so you might want to search youtube for multiple outs with protools. Basically it shouldn’t be much different from what I do. Set up all the outputs you want in the daw and then assign them to individual channels of the zed. On the zed then press the Dig Ret pre-ins if you need to use an insert or the eq, or Dig Ret post-eq if you don’t. I’m talking about the 4 black buttons that each channel has beside the fader. Then assign to LR with the white button. Turn up the fader and there should be sound.
@@JahServant Thanks very much for those helpful hints! I haven’t been able to set up with midi section of the board yet either, any wisdom to share on that as well? Blessings
Similar situation. There should be a way to select the zed as your midi controller, check UA-cam for that again. Then you have to assign the faders and knobs individually for the channels and effects you want to control. I set it up from new for each song and then can save that setup. If I need to work on the song again I can load the same mixer settings. I can’t give you much more than that as it’ll probably be very specific to your daw.

Nice! Not sure if it's listed on any of your vids but could you possibly do a rundown of your outboard? Thanks!
rack or stomboxes :)
Combination of both. If you check the other videos then it’s all mentioned in the descriptions, just might have to check a few to catch it all. Bless.
