There should be a segment where Baz enunciates long words.
My ears will be happy.
the first word should be enunciate 😂
Seeing them grill lettuce reminds me of gordon ramsay when he ate that grilled caesar salad and how much he dissed it😂
Maxx Lee that was episode had me weak 🤣
Maxx Lee I was thinking the exact same thing!!!
Sameee
They're used lettuce, not cabbage.
its actually quite delicious. I'm a fan!
You know those glasses that allow colorblind people to see color? I dunno if they're available in the UK but it would be cool to see Jamie cooking with a bunch of colorful ingredients while wearing a pair of those.
that would be amazing
ChristineChaos is he actually colourblind? or did he just forget how to make green?
he really is colourblind. they mention it in a few videos
Jean-Luc Walker No Jamie's actually colorblind. In their fruit gums video they pranked Jamie by giving him the green ones (the ones everyone hates) because he couldn't tell the difference.
Yes!!! OMG, somebody send the guy a pair of those glasses!
3:26 "Okay, don't listen then" - how I feel at the dinner table with my four loud older siblings
BUT WHAT ABOUT THE AUTOSEXING CHICKS??!! You left us hanging Ben. #rude
males and female chicks have different markings so you dont have to blow the feathers off their buttand check lol
here is a breakfast idea from Egypt. Eggs and basturma, fava beans and eggs and falafel. You get yourself some basturma, cut it up and fry for a few minutes; traditionally in ghee, but butter is close enough. You then crack a couple eggs a little bit of salt and pepper and enjoy. for the fava beans, you can just get a can, empty it out and warm it through for a good 5-7 mins and then add salt, pepper, cumin(key ingredient), olive oil, lemon juice and perhaps some diced peppers. All you need after that is adding some hard boiled eggs to it and smashing it together.
I still really enjoy watching your old videos, and this one with Barry learning the meaning of breakfast and Jamie learning about colours is my very favourite wholesome video 💗
i am so sad that their subscribers aren't increasing! they are pretty much the best food channel on youtube! big time fan!
In the Philippines, one of our most famous morning snack is warm taho. It's made of silken tofu, brown sugar syrup (arnibal) and tapioca pearls. I'm interested how you can level up this food. We only have one variety where arnibal is replaced with strawberry jam.
Ben should have gotten that point tbh. That was a new wonderful dish that got the others going for second bite and Mike going for Salt Bae pose as he was eating it. The points being awarded for anything and everything this week....and he doesn't get a point for his garden breakfast? :(
BarelyKindA he did, later on,
I'm really loving these videos, guys. I've been watching Sorted for, I don't know, five and a half years? These was a little while in there last year and in 2015 where I felt like I'd lost the magic in your videos. The recipes were good, but I was getting less of you guys in them, and I wasn't really enjoying FridgeCam. I'm currently loving everything again, and back to watching every video -- even ones like these, where I'm mostly just sitting back and being amused because I'll put this out there: your Shakshuka is not better than mine ;) Seriously though, great content, great laughs, love the first & second takes being left in and it all feels generally more professional AND more chill, which is an epic mix.
Any fan of "Friends" here? What Barry did at 5:48 is exactly what Chandler did in a scene from "The One With A Chick And A Duck"
Guilherme Portela first thing I thought of when he said it 😂
I know I’m very late to this, but yeah. I think he just caught an episode late at night.
truly one of my favorite dishes.. my grandmother is Moroccan so I grew up eating a lot of shakshuka. this is a great version. in Israel we have ready made cooled shakshuka sauce in supermarkets and it's so good you cant tell it's bought. it's also the easiest dish ever if you make it so.. a simple one contains canned diced tomatoes, crushed garlic, tiny bit of cumin, oil, salt, pepper, chicken stock cube/powder, a little water, and eggs
Y'know as much as i know that Native American recipes are hard to get, (especially for breakfast) I'd still liked to see you guys try to reinvent one of our traditional recipes for the modern world (although allot of our recipes have been modernized i.e. Cornbread, fishcakes, frybread)
If i can provide some recipes from my family ill give you guys a message! But my granny is stubborn as always
I love this idea!
vvendingo Once I had three sisters soup reinterpreted as dessert at this really fancy restaurant: corn custard, sweet pumpkin gratin, and some sort of red bean ice cream with mini fry bread puffs.
vvendingo what I hate about family members like that is that they would rather the traditions doe with them than share. idk how ego can be that important.
daisy heart well my grandmother received the recipes from her ancestors and she will be doing the same when she passes, i think it's more of keeping it traditional and non westernized since our family (specifically our ancestors) have not had a good time with westernization
This is such an amazing idea and I really want to see more stuff like this done!!
I really really like this new format because it lets each of your personalities to shine through a lot more
A traditional Filipino breakfast might include pandesal (small bread rolls), kesong puti (white cheese), champorado (chocolate rice porridge), sinangag (garlic fried rice), and meat-such as tapa, longganisa, tocino, karne norte (corned beef), or fish such as daing na bangus (salted and dried milkfish)-or itlog na pula (salted duck eggs). Coffee is also commonly served particularly kapeng barako, a variety of coffee produced in the mountains of Batangas noted for having a strong flavor.
why not just pancit canton?xd
Don't know, if you guys still read comments on your recipes from last year, but I just tried your Shakshuka Recipe and it's unbelievable good! Perfect for starting a healthy life after christmas again! Thanks a lot for your work on this channel (and thanks to the whole team working in the background!). It is inspiring to watch your content and I learn so much about general cooking and tasting processes from you!
Keep up the good work!
I'm 4.5 minutes in and this episode is just all over the place! I love it!
Omg Ben brought gardening into cooking again. I was actually in shock when he added the herbs into the dish like he was planting them. 😂
I love this format very much @sortedfood . Been a fan for more than seven years. The work you're doing is entertaining and informative. Much love 💜
We also eat Shakshuka in Israel. I had one yesterday for dinner. I make ( well my mum does), the best level-up Shakshuka. I use garlic , canned tomatoes , seasoning (like Ben used this recipe) and eggs ofcourse.
Level up- add basil , pealed , sliced eggplant. ITS EVERYTHING !!!!!
Oh. And chilli dried flakes !!! Spicy
Apart from being the most important meal of the day, it also should be the fastest, because we're all half awake in the process of making it. What's the fastest and best breakfast to fill me up for a long time?
Fun fact, it is not the "most important meal of the day". This was invented as an ad in the mid 19th century by Kellogg, and then it skyrocketed. This is solely based on one guy saying something to promote his product and then market rode the wind. Google it.
Even with that, it still is my favorite meal.
And to answer your question, porridge is best, and can be done overnight easily
Meg.A. Byte well like he said porridge with berrys is the best breakfast in the world,(by the way the way the sorted guys did a porridge videos recently its pretty good)
Victor Delafontaine but it is the most important meal of your day. doesnt matter if it was an ad
Well, to seriously answer your question, proteins make you feel satisfied and fats will keep you feel full for a long time, where as carbs will make your blood sugar plummet and cause hunger quickly after eating. Therefore bacon and eggs, with tomato instead of bread, will really do the trick. A thin omelet roll filled with cooked chicken and avocado works too if you poached your chicken the day before and it is a little less calorie rich.
If you don't have time to cook, you could prepare some chicken, boiled eggs and maybe even bacon (for the crunch) the night before, mix it with avocado, tomato, lettuce and a little bit of mayo, and you have a fast and very filling breakfast.
Just some of my favorite easy recipes, I hope you enjoy them.
Eggs are a solid bet.
Barry's brain explosion with the break fast thing is adorable.
Griddle stickies! It's like a cinnamon roll meets french toast (without the egg batter) and a load of maple syrup or if you're a traditionalist it's a brown sugar butter sauce. They aren't just a breakfast specialty of Western Pennsylvania, slap some ice cream on top and you have a dessert dream!
The one benefit to staying up late is getting the Sorted videos as they air at 4 am in the US! Keep being great!
One for Jamie, Australian mixed grill. Big around the 50's and 60's but has resurfaced as part of Australia Day festivities. Yes it's breakfast and washed down with a beer of course.
I just want someone to look at me the same way Barry looks at James @ 1:57 - 2:00
lol
10:04
Mike: "Oh fuc- Oh good."
Ben: *concerned glance*
Mauritian breakfast: fresh baguette with butter and gateaux piments (which are essentially falafels made from split peas, ginger and spring onions). Drink some vanilla- flavoured local tea with that. Goes down a treat!
Peppers on breakfast? It's amazing how things are different around the world! In Brazil we would never have something like this. Amazing
This episode was truly educational for all. Well done, fellas!
This is a levelled up shakshooka. Looks so good!
In Malaysia, the staple breakfast is Nasi Lemak. It's basically rice cooked in coconut milk and pandan with a side of thick sambal, hardboiled eggs, peanuts and cucumber. You can spice it up by adding other meat sides to it to make a filling breakfast.
How about, Sfenj. its a moroccon doughnut. Soo delicious. you just need flour, yeast, salt and water. Let it rise for about a half an hour to an hour. have a bowl with sunfloweroil ready. put a little oil on your hands and take a little ball of dough. then make a doughnut out of it and fry it immediately in sunflower oil. its done when its golden brown on each side. drizzle is with some honey and drink it with a cup of tea. Delicious! And super easy to make!
In Quebec... We have "cabane a sucre" sugar shack when translated and its during the maple syrup time (feb to march)
One thing that we do, to add to the english breakfast are pork rinds, and Quebec pea soup...
sounds nuts but is super popular.
No matter what time it is, your videos always manage to make me hungry.
This looks great! We usually don't have eggs Shakshuka-style for Breakfast where I live ^^ If it's not sunny side up eggs with plenty of olive oil, it would be eggs with khli' (dried salted mutton meat conserved in fat or oil). Not for the faint of heart, but delicious!
Kisses from Morocco!
The editing in these videos is phenomenal! Whoever's doing the editing is doing a great job!
That reminds me of my grandma. My grandma used to use old pots to plant herbs in her yard
woot woot early access! Ooh big morning in!
That coriander fact was interesting! I absolutely couldn't stand the soapy taste a couple years back when I was in Costa Rica and they put it in EVERYTHING, but now I absolutely love it! Didn't know there was a gene involved, but if that's really the case, changing my mind about it seems rather weird haha
Dominican breakfast! Salami, fried cheese, mangú (smashed plantains with garlic, butter and a drip of milk) with pickled red onions slathered over the plantains... ::: drooling::: serve with a fried egg (edges crispy please)
Puri (deep fried puffy paratha), sooji halwa (semolina halwa), channa curry (chick pea curry) it cant get more street than that!! Ultimate Indian breakfast!!
I did green shakshuka once, a bit different. Instead of tomatoes I used tomatillos. Quite tasty.
I love Barry! Can I award him a point just for being cute?
Rose J. yes. yes u can
indonsian nasi uduk :3 fried noodle, slice of omelette, crispy tempeh & tofu, sambal.. great!!
油条,煎饼果子,混沌,烧饼,锅贴,麻团。my favourites
champorado with dried fish and eggs is what I loved .
yup
Thank you! Finally someone said something about coriander!
Ben needs to come out of this Brownie Points competition as the victor, his food looks amazing, and the other three really do give him a hard time. He deserves a win.
We actually eat Nasi Lemak (rice cooked with coconut milk, served with sambal(chilli paste) and sometimes fried chicken) for breakfast in Malaysia..
Just found what I am making for breakfast today!!! Thank you guys
How about traditional filipino silog or tapa, trust me you will not be disappointed.
tapsilog, tocilog, or champorado with tuyo.. i think the last one is for breakfast also..
Joan April Penano champorado with tuyo?
Yes.. It's a mix of sweet and salty.. Chocolate flavored glutinous rice porridge (champorado) with dried salted fish (tuyo).. I think it's breakfast..
You should totally make candied bacon! It's great if you add a little mustard to the glaze with the honey/maple syrup
When Ben grilled the lettuce, I just remembered an episode about grilled lettuce with Gordon Ramsay 😂.
ooh, you should try a full spread, "down home" country (southern American) breakfast with all the fixins'... biscuits and gravy, french toast, pancakes and/or waffles, eggs (to choice), bacon and/or breakfast sausage, corn beef hash, hashbrowns, toast with either cinnamon butter or apple butter, fried apples, and banana bread!
This is NOT an everyday breakfast, it's more for holidays and special occasions. One side of my family is very southern and I remember helping to make this breakfast for things like Christmas and family reunions when there would be a lot of mouths to feed in one home and lots of different breakfast favorites! My nanny (my grandmother) made everything as homemade as she could get it and it was always delicious... it's one meal I'll never forget. 😊
or roti chania, it's an Indian breakfast that is a soft roti with a chickpea curry and is served with a tea that has a delicious froth on top
I love your videos!
this is my favorite meal you’ve ever made
Make a "Zopf"! It is a swiss bread eaten traditionnaly on Sunday. It's delicious and you can eat it with either savory or sweet things
Enjoying the current format.
Filipino breakfast longaniza Filipino sausage fried egg garlic rice and diced tomatoes with fish sauce
the best bread for shakshuka is "hala" (the bread jewish use for sabbath) because it absorves all the juice and is kind of sweet, and you must have tahini with it..
Here in NJ we have a breakfast sandwich called pork roll, egg and cheese. Pork roll is a bit difficult to find outside of the state, so I have no idea if it's available in the UK at all, but if it is, it would be great to see you guys put your spin on the dish.
Broke breakfast in Indonesia: Indomie Telor. Fast, cheap, delicious. Yea we broke people eat instant ramen as breakfast, and being very content about that.
On a serious note, Indonesian best breakfast dish: Soto Ayam (yellow chicken soup thingy) and Ketupat Sayur (steam rice cake with other wonderful thing). 👌🏻
Make a traditional Jamaican breakfast! I'm from Jamaica and our breakfast is the best!
Loved the coriander advice, thanks a lot!!
Breakfast burritos! With green Chilli
slice pork with century eggs congee and the dough sticks. Would love to see the guys trying to eat the egga
l1233799 they have already tried century eggs. I believe in season 2 of the new fridgecam series. It was the last time they tried exotic meat
Guess I will be hunting for that episode then :)
Hell yes! Breakfast is always a favourite ;)
"you have a child" has to be the best thing barry said
you got to do vietnamese Ban xeo with seasoned fish sauce and sugar cane juice it breakfast it cures hangovers its awsome.
Omg Barry is so adorable
Like your typed comment about Cilantrotasting like soap. Cilantro taste like metal to me. But I love the taste of ground or whole coriander seeds, but the fresh leaves is a no-no for me. Love the videos guys.
you can try doing Dosa or idli which are south indian style of breakfast
Would love to finally see a Dutch recipe! In the south of the Netherlands, we have something called 'vlaai'. Basically it's a yeasted pie dough, filled with loads of fresh fruit or sometimes even rice pudding or custard! I mean... A sweet pie for breakfast ;).
PLEASE do bahraini breakfast!!!!! there are so so many varieties of dishes within that that you could make that are sooooo delicious and it would be so cool to see your guys' interpretation of it!!
Would it be possible to prepare the onion-pepper-tomato part the night before, and in the morning reheat it and put the eggs and whatever toppings we want? To gain time in the morning
Ben at the Background 0:03 xD
Yay you guys addressed the coriander issue! Woohoo!! Thanks lads :D
this feels like diner to me!
wow the breaking your fast thing blew my mind.
Ben deserved that brownie point!!
When they all explained to Barry I had so much sympathy... "Breakfast" it says it all...
that looks awesome, I want to make that as a brunch
Love the big MORNING in ❤ Well done James 👏🏻 Please do a South African breakfast. Either mieliepap (ground maize, direct translation 'porridge') with milk, butter and sugar. 🇿🇦 Or you could make buttermilk rusks. We used to eat those in the mornings with coffee/tea when we visited some family on the plaas (farm)
You guys are the best, keep it going 👌🏻
Is it my speakers or do Ben and Baz occasionally sound like they're talking from the depths of a very deep, metallic cave?
YES! Love this recipe!!
Try Halwa poori and chickpeas... Quiet traditional Pakistani/Indian breakfast. Semolina pudding (sweet), sauced chickpeas (savoury spicy) with poori (deep fried flat breads made from plain flour dough).
Ahhh boys! I was planning on making Shashuka next weekend! Perfect timing!
Excellent coincidence.
I would love to see your take on Filipino arroz caldo, lugaw or champorado, all of which are famous breakfasts. :) you guys did great on the adobo! ;)
How about a danish breakfast? white bread with butter and fx jam or cheese, can be most things really. just jave to be sliced in some way. The important thing would be wienerbrød (proper danish danishes) after, which is kinda a "breakfast dessert pastry". Have in mind that there are many kinds of wienerbrød, examples of my favorites are thebirkes and spandauer.
Yess I spotted that cheeky smile, Barry at 2:55 hehe
Ultimate spring of mint!
I really appreciate mentioning options for those of us who cannot (no matter how hard we try) stomach cilantro. My family and I have concluded it must taste like love and sunshine to the rest of the population. *stupid genes!* Parsley is a good alternative, but I have found arugula to be the best replacement for cilantro. It provides a freshness and a little peppery bite that really brightens up any savory dish.
I was watching a video from jacksfilms and this entire video came up as an ad what a pleasant surprise
lmao mike always makes a scene when ben makes innuendos
You should do a Dominican breakfast! Mashed green plantains topped with pickled onions and with a side of eggs, salami (dominican salami) and fried cheese!!! I can give you details!!!
Going uni soon. please do some cheap and easy breakfasts
Arepas!!! (from Venezuela)
