As someone who lost their mom at 26 years old, watching these grown men brag about their moms cooking really tugged on my heart. I’m so glad they love and appreciate their moms while they’re still here. ❤️ I miss mine so much.

To give Chase's mom credit, I'm sure it tasted absolutely delicious fresh.
Right I feel like the rice and raisins soaked up all the cream and totally altered the texture 😢
It probably still tasted great. The issue is the other one had more sugar
The thing about that dish is that it IS supposed so left soaking. You can certainly eat it fresh and warm, but it does tastes better later. At least that’s the general agreement among my family and friends 😅 it is one of my favourite desserts.

I'm mexican, and in my house we sometimes do those kind of tortilla stacks, but we call them "pastel azteca" (aztec cake), which we make by putting mole with chicken and cheese between two tortillas and then more mole with chicken and cheese at the top. Love it!

Don’t usually comment but this episode made me tear up: it brought me back to my childhood when my favorite dish in the world was this potato croquette filled with ground beef that my grandma would make and so my mom stated making it (grandparents lived in another country). And then I got to think on our daughter and how she’s for sure finding this one favorite thing we make and how that will be her thing. Loved this vid

I'm from Alabama and I know what country style steak looks like and I could immediately tell which one was Link's mom right away. Country style is one of my favorites too. Got to have some rice, or mashed potatoes to put it over the top though. Love this episode. So wholesome and relatable.

Here is the thing about southern mama dishes. They might have a recipe written down but those are just providing guard rails. Most of those ingredients are a literal pinch or palm full… not a lot of precision measuring going on.
