Guitar taught me and many others how learning works. You know that you cannot play/do something when you start, but it never bothers you. You know it’s the practice that will eventually lead to skill and success. Plus the eventual gigs that makes you able to perform in front of people.

Can a guitar make you a millionaire? Yes, but only if you start with 2 million!

Another great and interesting video, thank you very much! I agree that the ability to perform is a life skill, which can help a lot in other areas of life not directly related to playing guitar live in a band in front of an audience. Although I imagine the ability to give the "right" answers in front of some senior CEOs is still something different, compared to, for example, play the Paranoid - Solo flawlessly😎. Nevertheless, I think you have a good point there. I hope your asthma gets better soon and thank you very much for all your great work!

Thanks. I think there is no doubt being a business leader requires a clarity of thinking that you don’t need as a lead guitarist. That said, one would be surprised at the performative aspect of leadership and senior management in the corporate world

Don't underestimate the truth behind this idea. Being part of a band really helps you stand out in a corporate set up, and much more so if you are reasonably senior to begin with...let's face it, there's any number of professionals out there with brilliant minds, excellent communication and amazing testimonials who look and sound exactly the same...almost never do you bump into a senior professional who plays for a band...it's a very useful ice breaker and has tremendous recall value

This is such a great example of how being diverse in your experiences and interests make you better at what you do.
No one is "good" at something the first time they try it, but many things are related, and you can be better at things to start if you have done something else similar. Experience and practice is key.
I think you are doing a great service to others with these insights and hopefully inspiring them!

I love your content! It is a nice change of pace from the normal far on UA-cam. Thank you for all your work. Could you take a little bit of playing guitar in your hometown?

To me, it's the practice, patience and perseverance, even if the song seems extremely difficult. Just practice till your fingers bleed🥲 (pun intended), and in 3 to 5 months of constant practice, I finally nailed the song/s. 🔥 You can apply the same principle in life or business. And yeah, as an introvert, I use guitars to gain friends by teaching them and jamming.🤘

I have agoraphobia. I can't stand being in crowds. This manifests in annoyance and anger. I'm also claustrophobic so you might imagine my worst days are spent in airplanes.
Performance has never been a problem, and I assure you I enjoy the irony of it. The stage is an invisible barrier between the crowd and I. Playing in bars is something of a problem because I step off the stage directly into an alter-ego who can barely speak or hear. My anxiety goes off the chart. Any little noise will distract me. And I essentially have all the outer symptoms of a starstruck fan confronted by an idol; meanwhile, my inner thoughts are all about finding some quiet place away from these people.
A friend of mine tells me he has a similar experience fronting his band. The instant he steps off the stage, he wants nothing more than for the crowd to ignore him.
We're both extroverts, so this is baffling. Doesn't mean either of us will stop. My friend is telling me he wants to quit his bar-band and start hitting the coffeehouse circuit. He's sick of drunks begging for "Freebird" and other obnoxious nonsense. Can't say I blame him.
I enjoy performing too much. And I can't square the circle of it.

My analogy is a pro baseball ⚾ player was complaining about so and so makes 30m and bats 270 I bat 320 but make less mangers answer was, when we have runners on 2nd and 3rd he hits the ball to the right side and drives and moves runners forward, you don't. My point is having grace under fire 🔥

Liked some of your vids & what you said.
But the issue about being a 'Millionaire' (not the first time you have mentioned this) falls short of what being humble is.
Maybe humility isn't in your lexicon, so be it, live & let live, but for me, you're history, time to unsub-shame because you seemed to be otherwise- not the first time i was incorrect.

I’m sorry you feel that way. My purpose of making these videos, particularly on my other channel ‘CMO on Sabbatical’ is to simply share what I have learnt over my extremely fortunate journey. I have seen and see way too many people struggling through daily life with their job being a burden they have to do. I was lucky enough to figure a way out of that rat race . The numbers are simply markers of a result achieved. I could hardly advice people on how to retire early without giving them a rough sense of my finances

      @BenBreard Місяць тому +1

You're missing the point of the video IMO. UA-cam isn't where you go to find humility. If another person's net worth makes you feel that way ....... that's a reflection on you not them.
