This sat on my counter for an entire year. Waiting for my husband to set it up. I couldn't find the instructions so thank you for the video. 1pm tomorrow I'll have bad batch #1 of ice.
Honestly that’s really sad if he’s healthy and alive to not put it together for you for an entire year. Wow that is just really sorry. Congratulations on doing what you need to do and figuring it out! That’s awesome
I recently purchased this item, and I am running it through the pre-cycle. When I saw how long yours took, I was concerned! But, within 10 minutes, the first ice appeared. So far, so great 😀
You have to move the ice from the sensors on the side they indicate it’s full when it really isn’t. You just have to push the ice down away from those two little sensors on each side. That will make it start filling the pale up.
I make my ice and then put in plastic zip bags (large) and enjoy my ice, I sack them up flat. Mine was quick after my grandson set it up for me. I cam upon your site because I couldn't wee the MAX water line. Mine was quick,, sorry you had to experience this
Am on my 3rd or 4th Insignia ice machine. Added water 2 days ago and compressor will not turn on. So now have unit on floor with green power button on which does nothing. These machines are seemingly made to last about a year. You are strongly advised to take Geek Squad coverage.
Very helpful video good job! I was on a auction site was bidding on light and accidentally bid on this ice maker. Glad it looks good enough to use...if I needed it 🤔
dude honestly, I think something is wrong with your ice maker...like it made all that ice in 12 hours? bro, that's hella dumb...you should return it and get another one... you should be getting ice every 7 minutes...
I just bought this exact model for my brother and sister in law to go with their new apartment-He instantly fell in love with the idea of having one once he realized I had one (pink) and our mother was going out to buy one. He's been wanting his own for so long now, just hasn't had the money, so I'm excited to surprise them. They're going to love it.. 🩷
Be careful not to have it in sunlight near a window etc. the infrared sensor that stops it from making more can malfunction. Mine burnt up because it just never stopped making ice. Cleaning these sucks too.
It shouldn't take 12 hrs to make ice if that is the case then you have a bad machine. Mine takes about 8-10 min for the first pieces of ice to show up. I am taking mine back only because the noise level is too high.
Hey thanks for the video i have one and so far so good. Was just wondering what is the white part inside where the water goes called its the piece that's removable next to the water drainage piece.
No you have to remove it what happens is as the ice melts it fills back up the water tank and then makes more ice it pretty much will recycle the melting ice. if you want to keep ice id move it to a freezer I put mine in a Tupperware container.
Good video. I have my second Insignia ice maker after one year. It stopped making ice. If that happens to you, be sure to return it before the warranty runs out.

I really like your natural, intuitive approach and logical progression/pathology.
Thank you

Mine just broke down after a year of almost daily use. Make sure to buy a protection plan if you’re considering this machine.
Thanks!
Mine just broke down today too! It just stopped. Like it’s MAY, not now!! 😢
Mine broke after a year 2
Thanks for the video I just bought one right now , seems to be worth it
How do you clean it?

We love ours… looking for info on how to thoroughly clean it.

I agree. We just got the same model. Ours began making ice in 12 minutes! Wife loves this.

Just bought this, how long does it take for ice to start coming out? And is it recommended to use bottled water vs tap water?
Be careful not to have it in sunlight near a window etc. the infrared sensor that stops it from making more can malfunction. Mine burnt up because it just never stopped making ice.
Cleaning these sucks too.
How are you supposed to clean them?
It has to be wash inside before first use ?
Yes, i ran the first load of ice, cleaned, then rinsed. The second load of ice i used
How do u wash it out

I can't help but picture John leguizamo talking
Funny, never heard that, have to ask others.
I was thinking this also

But does the machine keep the ice frozen so youre able to leave it there or must you remove the ice?
No, it stays frozen

yup they are a piece of crap! not worth buying
I can't believe he tried to attach the scoop on the side! 🤦♀lmao!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
this is why i got the insignia 44 lb. because the ice on this 26 is so cloudy and the 44 is so clear and cubed.
My mom has this ice maker and it only lasted a little over a year
From everything I read about them once you turn them over you have to wait 2 to 3 hours before you plug it in
Good video!
Thanks 👍🏼
