We must teach our children to refrain from blind heroworship and, rather focus their energies on developing themselves with positive attitudes. You are courageous, honest and uniquely knowledgeable May Allah keep you and family in His protection and mercy.
Thanks for another relevant look at South Asian history. There wasn't much hue and cry in West Pakistan about the atrocities committed in East Pakistan in 1971. There were a few opponents at the time but a very small minority. A major reason for the fear of Sheikh Mujib ruling the Western wing was that the Punjabis considered the Bengalis inferior. Interestingly, this sense of superiority is reflected among many Pakistanis even now. So, it is ironic that despite being looked down upon for decades, despite having thousands of their women raped, despite having lakhs of their brethren killed mercilessly, so many Bangladeshis still consider Pakistan their friend and brother. For much of Bangladesh's post-1971 history, the governments have tried to be close to Pakistan, which is kind of hilarious.
I am a Bangladeshi Muslim and I agree with you. It was 2011 cricket world cup quarterfinal in Dhaka. Pakistan was playing the West Indies and it was the the 25th of March (26th March is our Independence Day). I went to watch the game. I was ashamed at seeing 90% of the crowd supporting Pakistan with songs of Independence playing in the background. I think two things come into play here. 1) The concept of Universal 'Muslim' brotherhood. 2) Post 1971, India's big brother attitude which pushed the younger generation (who haven't witnessed 1971) away from India which inherently means towards Pakistan.
@@nab_chy I agree with both reasons you cited. Many in India don't understand why India doesn't find more favour in Bangladesh. The expectation here is that since our army helped the country win its liberation, Bangladeshis should be beholden to us. India's post-1971 mistakes (both actual and perceived) are missed. However, I also feel (I could be mistaken) that the problems because of India are a lot milder in magnitude than those due to Pakistan. (I would also mention that I have Bangladeshi friends and had a great trip to the country earlier this year -- so no animosity at the personal level)
As a Bangladeshi Muslim, I value shared faith but cannot call Pakistan a brother until there’s an official apology for 1971, when 30 lakh lives were lost. True reconciliation begins with acknowledging the truth and addressing historical injustices.
Sorry to say this but most bangladeshi are hypocrite you break sheikh mujibur rahman statue who gave you your independence and burn indian flags who supported you in the struggle with its military and many indian soldiers lives was sacrificed for "YOUR" Independence

Great to see you back Syedji! Keep up your good work Sir. A very good analysis Sir. I remember being in school in Mumbai during the Indo/ Pak war. We were trained to sit under a chair during the siren which was regularly played. We were instructed to switch off the lights in the evening too. I had switched it on and immediately the policeman had jumped on me. I was a kid then and it was so scary. I remember the joy when India won and the war was over.
You did not mention that 10 million refugees from East Pakistan flooded into India. Indira Gandhi, Prime Minister of India, did a tour of Western capitals. They could offer no assurance or plan that the refugees would be able to return to East Pakistan. Nixon, in particular, was more worried about using Yahya Khan as a go between to set up US-China diplomatic relations. It is at that point that Indira Gandhi made a decisive tilt towards the USSR.
Bhutto was Sindhi. Yahya, Gul Hassan, Brig Arbab and AAK Niazi were Pashtuns, and so was most of the army sent to Bangladesh. At least do your research before barking like an idiot.

I think Indira was way stronger with Pakistan in her actions than Modi has been in the past 10 years.
That's the bitter truth, in my opinion, obviously.
Tu gaddar hi😂😂😂😂😂
Nobody dared to attack india was Indira was pm remember Kashmir insurgency and separatist movement rise after her death
Disagree. Pakistan is now a crippled economy under debts and totally isolated in the world with no credibility and respect. You think it happened on its own 😂. it's now a FAILED state
Indira or Field Marshal Manekshaw? Pak was not an atomic Power then. So think of Modi in that context.
That time Pakistan was not atomic power

Dear Syed Muzammil Shah, Assalamoalaikum
You are rendering an invaluable service to this nation single handedly of revisting the sham history of this country to find the realities. We must teach our children to refrain from blind heroworship and, rather focus their energies on developing themselves with positive attitudes. You are courageous, honest and uniquely knowledgeable
May Allah keep you and family in His protection and mercy.

Wonderfully presented! A courageous and highly intellectual individual. Our country truly needs more people like you.
As a Bangladeshi Muslim, I value shared faith but cannot call Pakistan a brother until there’s an official apology for 1971, when 30 lakh lives were lost. True reconciliation begins with acknowledging the truth and addressing historical injustices.
We as s nation are SORRY to you 😢😢😢😢 but our government and establishment is bad what do we do?
But your Yunus government is supporting Pakistan 😂
Sorry to say this but most bangladeshi are hypocrite you break sheikh mujibur rahman statue who gave you your independence and burn indian flags who supported you in the struggle with its military and many indian soldiers lives was sacrificed for "YOUR" Independence
Bhai kah raha hai Bangladesh us Pakistan ko jis ki fauj ne 200 se 300 auraton ko pregnant karke naked condition me janwaro ki tarah bandh kar rakha tha jab bharat ki fauj ne unhe ajad karaya

Our fav Muzammil is back with a bang. Stay happy and stay blessed brother. And keep up the good work.
This failure should have been taught to us starting from 1972 to prevent future failures. Instead we were fed lies and false history of the events. This should be part of our course for all students of history and in college.

This country promise us that we will become a secular and development country and now see they're destroyed the all economy work mark my words that country will suffer a lot in future. It not a prediction it a reality ( no hate to anyone if you had a point against this statement debate respectfully )
Yes. I have heard about those happenings from my parents.
They live in lala land and make their own story not read history leave them
