Sebring 1971 and 1972 The 312PB's were magnificent! Only the Matra 630 V-12s were near so sweet to the ear.. STILL not the unique sounding 3 valve 330P4... MY all time favorite! J.C.
It was driven here by Paolo Barilla. Why would he need hand controls? If you mean Clay Regazzoni I ask the same question. Are you mixing the two drivers up with someone else?
@@merlincaldwell547 - I apologize and am amazed that I never knew that. I somehow missed the fact. However, as it says here, the driver was Paolo Barilla. Clay drove that car in the early 70s - in fact I saw him driving it in the first Grand Prix I went to, namely the 1970 British Grand Prix when Jochen Rindt beat Jack Brabham after Brabham ran out of petrol just before the last corner of the race. It is said that the mechanic who underfueled the car was a certain Mr. Ron Dennis.
Sometimes I defend the sound of modern F1 cars but then someone in real life goes past on a Harley Davidson and I wonder if I'd feel the same envy if it went past sounding like a Tesla.
Tiny compared to F1 today!!! Literally just a mold around the body with wheels and an engine almost used as a backrest. You can see just by design how unstable they were and it helped make for some crazy historical battles!
@Really? Well! So being lighter, shorter wheelbase and width of car, smaller tire patches, manual transmission which was much more clunky and upset the softer suspension much more easily, no power steering to make cornering smoother, the lack of downforce, a higher centre of gravity and a very heavy engine all equates to stability? “Wrong” lmfao.
This formula should be brought back in to put some interest back in the sport. Forget all the push button crap and computer controlled driver aids and give them 3 pedals and a stick shift and let's see who can really drive!👍
All you people lamenting the loss of real F1 racing, need to move on. I can put up with hybrid engines less competition etc, because it means that we get better technology in our everyday vehicles. Must confess though, these days I would rather watch NASCAR than F2.
Wonderful sound but the movie was largely disappointing. I would have liked to have a LOT more in car footage and why not show the entire Monaco vintage race from in-car? It was quite short anyway with the pump failure.
Ken Clark i’ve seen most of the movies on racing and F1 and all i can say is Ferrari 312B is different. A different way to tell the story, a different focus on the subjects, a different look at the car; obviously one can like it or not but it’s definitely different from any other F1 movie out there
I loved the story, seeing the mechanics building the car, talking about the challenges of cars that are basically entirely hand made. I could have done without the bits on the dangers of the era, showing those crashes (has been done so many times already). I just think the directors missed a great opportunity to show a lot more in car footage, of which there is really none from that era. Redone today, with modern film equipment, a decent driver in a vintage F1 car in a race around Monaco. Damn I wanted to see more!! All they had to do was keep the camera rolling.
this has a near 1:1 power to weight ratio, it can go 200mph and has a 0-60 of around 2.4 seconds so it would easily smoke just about any civic comfortably.
Now that is what a Formula One car should sound like. What a memory!!!!

Absolutely!
Amen!!!!
and look like .... today's aero derived cars, are just ugly, long, narrow, zillions of wings.. don't care for it.
Maybe Toto Wolff should give “Flintstones engines” another listen…
The 312B is my absolute favorite F1 Ferrari. I love its looks and the sound of that flat 12 engine! What a beast!
I feel like a little boy when I fall in love with the F1.
What a sound!
What a beautiful car!
I watched F1 for 50 years when the sound went away and the competition went away I stopped
@@ah6352 The cars have grown too big but the tracks have mostly stayed the same
How I miss those days. The sounds, the smells, the sights, the pit access.
This car is like a BAC Mono/Single Seater. Definitely way smaller than the F1 cars today.

@@danielwanner8708 Meh, by the time Senna landed on Williams, that car was already driving itself.
Splendida! Ancora oggi una delle più belle monoposto di sempre!!
This bring a BIG smile to my face. :)
Thank you for posting!!!
Great sound from this old formula one car 👌🤗🏎️🇮🇹 🏁
The real sound of a race car👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Absolutely incredible.
I love the sound
Beautiful race car 312. How race cares should look and sound 😊👍
Sebring 1971 and 1972

Che voce!!!! Bellissima creatura!!!!
Great car.. golden oldie❤
That, is a work of art.
Great gokart look and feel. Today's cars are like 6 meter long trucks
Ferrari Sempre Ferrari.❤
Beautiful Ferrari as always
2:02 The first 12cylinder car Enzo saw it was a Packar in Indianapolis on 1919!
My grandpas uncles dad moms brothers cousins sisters boyfriend was here and he said it was awesome and just like this.

Those cars were beasts in those days...but sounds fantastic...01:50 he aint hanging about.

No, Ferrari 312B!
Incredibile!
The V12 cars were so small and today with a small 1.6l 6 cylinder engine we have almost F1 trucks and not F1 racecars!
The Sound.
312B et 312B2 ! Les plus belles F1 de tous les temps !
Now that's what a F1 car sounds like. None of that turbo-hybrid crap.
Exactly, My words😉👍. 2020 F1👎🖕
Suono perfetto.

Scary but very nice sound
Q: how did he drive this car? Hand controls?

@@probablygraham Clay Regazzoni was paralyzed since an accident in 1980. That’s why.
