Two things: Pete Carroll is a way better coach than anyone gave him credit for.
NFL teams need to stop paying washed up quarterbacks to multi-year deals.
I was at USC 04-08, Coach Carroll was everything. His players would do anything for him. He walked around campus with a hoody on, smiling and nodding to any student that gave him a 'good morning coach'. He loves to motivate and get the best out of everyone from top to bottom. How did Russell get to be a QB of his former quality? No one was betting on the 5'11'' 3rd rounder, except Pete Carroll.

He was also there 2000-2004, that was when they went to SB XL. Word is they used Scots draft list for 2014. Pretty much ass after that draft wise tho.

It was a terrible call and a terrible throw. If you're going to throw that ball into the teeth of the defense it needed to be low and away so there's no chance of an interception. Also the receiver (ca t remember his name was weak on the ball which didn't help). Either way that int and loss was on both Wilson and Carroll.
I really think being loudly boo'd in Seattle and then being boo'd in Denver crushed him. He was originally being perceived as some kind of saviour when he was traded to Denver. Everywhere he went in Denver he was treated like a Hollywood Star. He was in heaven and it went to his head. How he is perceived is everything to Russ. He saw himself as a type of Hollywood star and when he was boo'd in Seattle and Denver, it crushed him. And now former players are making fun of him but he did it to himself. Russ is his own worst enemy and he doesn't even realize it. His awareness level is way off so he has others advise him on what and what not to say. He doesn't know who he is, he only knows who he wants to be.
He wasn't booed in Seattle for no reason. He was already a train wreck. It was just less obvious.

It comes down to this… Everyone that left Seattle from that 2013 team started declining except maybe Bobby. That team wasn’t about individuals and watching the chemistry they played with every week back then is still to this day the best chemistry I’ve ever seen on a field
To be fair they were getting long in the tooth and injured, that’s a big part of why we let them go
But the team has regained that brotherhood feeling this year….without Russ 😂

I'm a Marine Corps Iraq war veteran. Almost got black belt in Marine Martial arts. I've fought a lot. I've given many head butts. I've been rowdy and taken lots of hits. Had a rocket blow up next to me... And in my later years now. I get headaches, I have moments of forgetfulness, or processing things slower than normal. And I was always extremely intelligent, very quick with critical logic, and had an excellent memory. Scored 95%+ on the Iowa tests. - They were a National standardized test back in the day. - Don't know if they still do them... But...
Now I feel like a half retard sometimes and get angry very quickly.
My personality is different. I'm a different person than I once was.
I always have to rely on my good conscience, because my thoughts can be messed up after a quick temper moment.
I see a lot of this happening with Russ. It's got to be his head. And people should support him, and try to get him to seek help. Or at least get a diagnosis and then move on from there. I'm sure he could have been a difficult guy to get along with if he had an ego problem. Money, fame, and favoritism will do that ...
So maybe that's why people close to him don't notice a personality shift or maybe they just don't care about him enough to have empathy about it.

After 11 games, a QB is still calling out plays from his previous team and remember, Russ would not go to Denver unless he could call his own plays. That's why he left Seattle because Pete wasn't dumb enough to allow him to call his own plays. This guy is living inside of an illusion and that's just not normal.
