Reminds me of the soft hackle dry fly John Barnes has recently somewhat popularized... I'm not sure who invented the fly but I've been tying dry flies with a turn of partridge and they have been KILLING it for me. The segmentation and movement it had in the film drives fish crazy! Love the fly and all your videos. all the best Scott
Fantastic video Davie. Job well done. I appreciate everything you put into your videos with such detail and showing us in such a simple manner. The way you tie flies is never intimidating , but inspiring. Thank you.
Hi Terryll Monroe, I'm glad you enjoy the videos and thank you very much for all your kind words they do mean a lot to me... All the very best Davie...
hi Davie could you tell me the brand of partridge feather you use and where to purchase it, as the stuff I'm using is more fluff than feather. Thanks in advance.
Hi John, I buy the full partridge skin so that I get the best feathers for these flies, Veniards and Cookshill are two of the companies I have bought from..I have attached a link for you to see. www.cookshill-flytying.co.uk/gsr.htm All the very best Davie
@@DavieMcPhail thank for the reply I will try cookshills, they have a good reputation for materials, keep your excellent videos going I look forward to them and find they improve my own tying (sometimes ).regards John.
