    Hello Pat and Glai,
    I always check to see what games you guys have been playing. As I have said previously it’s difficult to get certain games here in the Canary Islands, however, I ordered this game from England a few years ago and it has sat on my shelf of shame since. So seeing this has given me a real boost to get it to the table at some point soon. However, there’s a backlog of lots of others and I’m trying to resist temptation to buy any more games. As you know I really enjoy your play throughs and uploads, always high quality. Keep up the great work it’s appreciated! Take care
    Glenn

      Hey there Glenn! It's great to hear from you. Oh yes, you should definitely try to get Jaws to the table. We had a lot of fun with it. It's quite a lighthearted game and it doesn't take too long to play so I would definitely recommend giving it a go.
      Yeah, it can certainly be difficult to find time to play all the games we have, and still resist the temptation to buy more! We definitely have the same problem there! :-)
      Thanks a lot for watching our videos and for always supporting us! Have fun with Jaws!

    I loved this playthrough! I play many longer, more complex games, but have been too intimidated to play hidden movement games!! I own Jaws, but worried about not being clever or quick enough--you've both made it look so fun and light-hearted. Thank you for bringing this game to the table.😊

      Hi Chris! Really glad that you liked the playthrough. We also like longer, more complex games but every now and again it is nice to just chill out and have fun with a lighter game like Jaws. This one is certainly very light-hearted and it was really fun being the Shark and trying to avoid getting caught. Even if he did, that would have been fun too. We both prefer the first act to the second, but it is also fun bashing into the boat and trying not to get killed. Hope you get a chance to get your copy to the table soon. Let us know how you get on when you do! Cheers!

    Hi Pat and Glai:
    Wow, what a fun game and exciting playthrough. I really like the jaws theme and the movie quotes on the cards are great. I remember seeing the movie at the theater in '75. I was 10 at the time, and it scared me silly.. The entire theater would freak-out everytime the shark music would start.
    After Glai stuck a barrel on Pat early, I thought it was going to be lights out for Pat. But he did a masterful job at hiding the shark thereafter. I like the two seperate chapters to the game. It does a good job at recreating the feel of the movie.
    Regards,
    Keith

      Hi there Keith! It's wonderful as always to hear from you. I guess I saw Jaws for the first time in the mid-80s and I was also terrified by it! Spielberg did such a great job using the music to insinuate the shark's presence rather than showing the shark itself. It was far more scary than showing a mechanical shark and a great way to build the tension.
      Yes, Glai found me on her first round and I was very worried that I wouldn't be able to feast on enough swimmers to get me through Act 2, so I had to be very careful not to get caught again! There were a few scary moments all the same.
      We had a lot of fun playing Jaws, and I think it is a great family game that can be enjoyed by all ages.
      All the best!

    Hi. One more thing, at 1:22:38 the resurface card C was misplaced. It should've been one place over to the left of the screen. That way Brody couldn't have targeted C and maybe he would've gotten one last shot. Sorry, just caught that after the last comment. But great video guys.

      Hello Fernando. You are absolutely correct about this. Sorry about that miss. I have made a note in the Klingon subtitles about it. Thanks for letting us know. Really glad you enjoyed the video!

      @@AllAboardBoardgames Glad I could be of assistance. Even still, a other great playthrough.
      As for my other comment on the Ramming Card, I had the idea that, since it's referring to "their attack", it was referring to the humans. Something like you moved closer and they got a better shot at the shark. But if the designer clarified it than you're absolutely right and I'm glad you did your research. Keep up the excellent work!

    • @AllAboardBoardgames
      @AllAboardBoardgames  Рік тому +1

      @@fernandomeneghetti Yes, we were confused at the start about the Ramming Speed card too because it does indeed say "their". The designer admitted that it could be worded better but that they were trying to go for a gender neutral pronoun. We also thought it might have been the crew when we first saw the card, and that maybe the Shark hurt itself when ramming the boat, so we made sure to clarify before shooting the game. Thanks a lot for watching!

    Was wondering how this would play with two players

    • @AllAboardBoardgames
      @AllAboardBoardgames  4 місяці тому

      I think it is best at 4 players, but we had a lot of fun with it with only 2!

    Hi there, very nice game playthrough, but unfortunately the game was not been played right according to the rules at all times, so I step in to highlight for clarification: in part 2 of the game (53:01) the canister can not be shaked-off during that round, this is only be possible in phase 4 (and you are in phase 6 at that point....)
    In part 1 the Beach Closed marker is taken away too quick every time (13:40 the first time) - the rules stated that the marker is flipped when a CARD stated to place 1 or more swimmers at that beach (and NOT for each swimmer) and when the next CARD selected that beach the marker is gone, and only the very next card can direct swimmers to that beach.

    Hi all. Just to be clear, at 1:18:43 the card used by the shark says to add 2 to the hits but instead of adding it to the crew attacks you added to the shark attack. Am I wrong?

    • @AllAboardBoardgames
      @AllAboardBoardgames  Рік тому +1

      Hi there! This card actually refers to the Shark. The card is called Ramming Speed and because he moves to hit the boat, thematically his increased speed in ramming it would cause more damage. I agree that the wording could be better though. There is a post on BGG where the designer answers this question and he confirms that it is indeed the Shark who gets the bonus.

    I dont know if youve played it yet. But the makers of Unstable Unicorns (also a great game), have another game called Here To Slay. Id love to see you guys go head to head on it and see your take on what strategies could be used, and what you think of the game.

    .... and an other mistake at 1:06:20 : the Net and Flare should be shaked off (in phase 4) - right before the people on board attacked the shark during phase 5 - because card B has been selected for that purpose
