Condoms are like cash, flashlights, lighters (even for non-smokers), pocket knives, spare tires, and maybe even something like a raffle ticket counts. I'm listing stuff that it's a good idea to have handy and in good condition, even if you expect fortune will favor you more without it.
I neither have cash, a lighter, a pocket knife or a condom. I do have a flashlight in my phone and a spare tire in my car. I guess I'm only 35% prepared for this world.

Noting the approach of a male stranger with unannounced intentions, I infer she remembered some threat-assessment training! Promptly, she detected no evidence that he's armed, at the very least.
Unwaveringly, she goes on to glean that his critical attitude will not give way to hostility. Nice that her strategy is therefore to let him vent rather than to blow up at him.

So I would say that she got it way easier than some. I'm not defending that character's asinine rant, but she is the bad guy in this story.
