Where is the huge bottom she pretended to "measure" and then whacked with her scissors? All that effort and all that fabric is GONE!!!! All wasted! All gone!
NOTE: This is NOT a "short-cut" but a rather silly "made-up" method that produces a very odd product. Please use a standard pattern (or make your own) and save both time and a great deal of fabric on any following tops you make in this style. NOTE: What happened to the huge, rounded, longer bottom and sides that she carefully measured and trimmed and flipped around? That HUGE AMOUNT of fabric had DISAPPEARED on the finished version, which means it was cut off and discarded!! So, WHY did she spend so much time measuring and cutting it out in the first place? That is a huge waste if both time and expensive fabric. Also, the turned hem (as demonstrated) will be uneven at the quarter-way point and will be both crooked and curled at the half-way point. This tape demonstrates a false "method" of constructing a simple top. Instead, just USE A PATTERN to properly measure, then CUT, and then SEW this plain top. The product will be finished faster and constructed smoother if you use the standard methods of measuring, cutting, and sewing. This demonstration WASTES both time and fabric, and the finished product looks NOTHING like what she cut! There is a reason smart people use patterns, then cut, then sew. It's the correct order in which to do things.

"One size fits all" is a ridiculous MYTH! If I am 5'2" tall and weigh 105 pounds, and you are 5'10" tall and weigh 240 pounds, even the notion is ludicrous.
