I actually got to talk with Dick Dale about this after a show. He said he had to ride it hundreds of times to make sure the timing was right. He also talked about how Eisner picked him to perform on top of Space Mountain for the 1998 Tomorrowland re-opening because he thought no one else would be that daring. Such an amazing guy. He also signed a Disneyland Space Mountain postcard for me!!
@@MrdangerJ The Beach Boys have Dick to thank for the beginnings of surf music. Plus, Dick created this wonderful arrangement of Aquarium from Saint-Saens beautiful Carnival of the Animals. It fits great in space.

This music was what helped make this my favorite ride when going as a kid, I also loved it that they used this music for the Disney racing games on the Sega Dreamcast. It was especially fun to be playing Chip or Dale on this particular level
I’m curious if they would blend the new effects with this soundtrack. It was all the old school visuals with this one, without the blue energy tunnel and warp thing.
It's on my top 10 list as a musician. Dick Dale a west coast surf guitarist composed it in 1977. It was and remains the most genius and creative use of analogue synthesizers in history, comparable to the later brilliance of Thomas Dolby and Herbie Hancock of the 80s and 90 who had the privilege to compose on the Fairlight early digital synthesizers. All three were pioneers in the early synthesizers. It is literally mind blowing to anyone who knows anything about the early analogue synthesizers to fathom how he was able to create the music scores for this soundtrack. Early analogue synths of the 70's were programmed by routing and patching cords, and near every musician of the time who used them made music that sounded like dying animals or R2D2 beeps. @@elevatoralarmcoasterandarc1214
Why does the music sound so “outer space” in a familiar way? Because you’ve heard it before! Listen to Gustav Holst’s ‘The Planets’ final movement, Neptune. You’ll hear the same chordal modulations in Space Mountain’s Dick Dale soundtrack. 😉 🚀 🏄
This is not a clean original version of the music. Someone added a bunch of SFX stuff on top of the music track. To hear what the original actually sounds like go here: ua-cam.com/video/Yq5YGRBOWyc/v-deo.html
I added the original sound effects that played on the ON RIDE version of the soundtrack. This is what the music and sounds would’ve sounded like if you were on the actual ride back in 1996. that’s the purpose of the video.

That’s a pretty rad story! Thanks for sharing :)
@@Theme_parchive It was incredible. I saw him again a year later and then he died the year after that. Take the opportunities you want to. Don't wait.
I do hope one day they bring this back for the rides anniversary. It's brilliant!!
Absolutely! can’t go wrong with Dick Dale. It would be a tremendous tribute to his legacy as the king of surf guitar
No, I feel like I am listening to The Beach Boys while listening to this
@MrdangerJ okay, but it's dick Dale.
@@MrdangerJit doesn’t sound anything like The Beach Boys.

Another great release…magnificent with the sound effects. People today have no idea what they missed if they were never able to ride 96-03
I’m still peeved they ditched the cookie meteors in the 05 revamp. (And the glow in the dark trains)

Also the next release will be Rockin’ Space Mountain.
@@Theme_parchive your releases should be on gold albums cause you know who doesn’t release anything
This was by far the best audio!
i love that soundtrack
Us too.
They need to bring this soundtrack back at one of their after hours events

I remember that.
I love this, it has a strong 🏄 vibe
Very historic.
I’ve always felt the same!!!

Very stunning.
Surf rock in space just WORKS.
Yes.
This gives off a sort-of surf-beach vibe
That’s because this was performed by Surf Guitar legend Dick Dale!
Yes, exactly!
This track eclipses what followed. Hopefully it makes a return one day.
In a few months.
They should never have gotten rid of this. So much better than what they have now.
Very popular.
One of the best music compositions ever created.
For a theme park.

Would it be possible to upload the sounds from the 2nd lift hill?
Sick🎉💥🚗💨🔥🔥🔥🔥
Need the WDW space mountain on board audio from this time, along with the current. Any chance of old test track audio? 🤔
Wonerful!
Wait is this the old music of space mountain ride
Yes
Any plans to release Ghost Galaxy?
I should use this in my Vyond videos.
Hey This Well Be Good If Space Mountain has a Movie 🎬 and Make That PG Film Si-fi Movie ? 😊

This is technically a cover of “Aquarium” from Camille Saint-Saëns’ “Carnival of the Animals”
Good catch! Not an exact match, but the obvious influence. My hats off to you. 🙏 ua-cam.com/video/IyFpZ5MZ7kk/v-deo.htmlsi=4f7OKXcMG0HGqDYA
